2. Safety First
Please read the following instructions carefully:
1. Remove the plugs from the sockets before cleaning the speakers. Do not use liquid cleaning agents or spray cans. Wipe off the speakers with a damp cloth.
2. Do not u se the speakers near water, for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, a kitchen sink or wash basin, in a damp cellar, at a swimming pool etc.
3. Make sure there is nothing on the power cable. Do not place the speakers in a place where the cable can be subject to wear or can be damaged by persons treading on it.
4. Never insert any object into one of the slots in the housing of the speaker as this object may touch dangerous live components or parts, which could result in a fire or an electric shock.
5. Never attempt to repair the speakers your self. If you open or remove the housing, you may come into contact with high-voltage components or face other hazards. The speakers should only be serviced by specially trained personnel.
6. Remove the plug from the socket under the following conditions, and have the speakers repaired by specially trained pers onnel:
a) the cable or the pl ug has been damaged or worn; b) liquid has been spilled into the speakers; c) the speakers have been exposed to rai n or water; d) the speakers are not operating normally; e) the speakers have been dropped or th e housing is damaged; f) the speakers are clearly performing poorly.

3. Connection
The speakers are eas y to connect since all cables are supplied. Follow the instructions as shown in Figure 1.
With most computers the best sound is delivered by using your computer’s “LINE-OUT” output. If your computer does n o t have a “LINE-OUT” output or if the sound is too poor, use the “SPEAK” output.

Warning: First turn the volume control to a low setting before you

1. Switch the speakers on. The on/off lamp lights up.
2. Have your computer produce some sound (for example, by playin g a CD).
3. Adjust the sound using the following controls: a) Volume control b) Bass control (amount of low-frequency sound) c) Treble control (amount of high-frequency sound) d) 3D control (increases the stereo effect of the sound,
particularly useful if the speakers are positioned close to each other).
4. In the event of any problems with the speakers consult Chapter 5 (Troubleshooting).
5. There is a connection on the front for headphones. Any headphones with a 3.5 mm jack plug can be connected to this. If headphon es are plugged in, sound reproduction via the s peakers is blocked.
