STEP 1:
Planning the Installation
Warning ! Do not plug the wire harness into the alarm control module until all con­nections are made. Failure to follow this procedure could cause some confusion with transmitter operation and or alarm function operation.
To pre-plan the installation of the MA-660M, carefully examine the motorcycle and look for areas to mount the main control brain, siren, status LED and override switch. Remove all the parts from the alarm box and examine them carefully so you will have a better idea of the space required for each part.
Look for areas where you will run the alarm wires keeping them out of sight and away from potential hazardous areas. You must also locate the battery and the wires coming from the ignition key, headlight switch and starter button.
There is no doubt that you will need to disassemble much of the motorcycle to gain access to all the areas where the components and wiring will be located. Sport bikes that have partial or full fairings come apart quite easily. Touring bikes will be more difficult as saddle­bags and windshield/fairings may need removal. The Harley Davidson motorcycle will be the most difficult as this is an open frame motorcycle with virtually no place to mount the components and hide the wires but with careful creative planning, installation is possible.

Component Installation
Mounting the Control Module:
The MA-660M control module should be located in an area where it has the best chance of remaining dry and free from grease and dirt. Tool cases, taillight housings and inside some fairings are good mounting locations. It is advisable to keep the MA­660M control module as far away from the engine as possible.
The control module can either be solidly mounted using the mounting screws provided or it can be securely attached to metal parts and wire looms by using cable ties and looping them through the mounting tabs on the module’s case.
Mounting the Status LED:
Mounting the status LED requires drilling a 1/4” hole in the desired location. Make sure that there is a least 5/8” of room behind your chosen mounting location as that is how deep the LED housing is. After drilling the 1/4” hole, feed the wire through the hole and push the status LED into the hole until it stops. The LED is now permanently mounted. Run the wires to the alarm.

Mounting the Siren:
Select a mounting location for the siren where the sound coming from the siren will not be obstructed. Solid mounting is recommended. Use the screws provided and secure the siren to the desired mounting location.
Do not locate the siren where the wires can be seen or reached easily. If you are locating the siren where it will definitely get wet, make sure that the mouth of the siren is pointing straight down to the ground to allow any water to quickly drain out. Keep the siren away from the engine and the exhaust system. The extreme heat will damage the siren.
Mounting the Valet/Override Switch
The override switch must be located in a hidden but accessible location. Mounting the override switch requires drilling a 1/4” hole. After drilling the mounting hole, remove the nut and locking washer from the switch. Push the switch through the hole (from the back side) and secure the switch using the locking washer and the nut. Do not mount the switch where it will get greasy or damaged by moving parts.
Red Wire: (with Fuse Holder)
This is the alarm’s main power supply input. The red wire should be connected to the positive (+) post on the battery. A good alternate location is at the main + input of the ignition key. A battery connection is the preferred connection.
Black Wire:
Connect the black wire to the chassis of the motorcycle. The black wire can also be connected to the negative (-) post of the battery but it is not necessary. Do not con­nect the black wire to any other ground wire supplied in the motorcycle wire harness.
Yellow Wire and Black Wire with White Stripe: (Ignition Disable Relay)
To properly connect the on-board ignition disable relay, you will need to locate the wire coming from the ignition key that supplies voltage to the ignition coils. If this wire is dif­ficult to locate, go to the fuse block and locate the fuse marked “IGN” and use the wire connected to that fuse. Cut the wire in half and push the start button. If you have found the correct wire, the engine will crank over but not start.
After locating the correct wire connect the yellow wire to the wire coming from the igni­tion switch (+12 volts when ignition key is on) and connect the black/white wire to the wire going to the ignition coils

Red Wire with White Stripe: (Running Lights Outputs)
The two red wires with white stripe supply a +12 volt 5A pulsed output to flash the running lights on the motorcycle. Connect one of the two wires to the right running light and connect the other wire to the left running light. If connection to the running lights only requires one wire, attach both red/white wires to the same point.
Pink Wire: (Running Lights Input)
The connection of the pink wire determines the output polarity of the running light relay. Connect the pink wire to (+) voltage to have (+) voltage output from the running light relay. Connect the pink wire to ground to have a ground output from the running light relay.
Brown Wire: (Siren/Horn)
The brown wire provides positive (+) voltage. This output can be programmed for con­stant (siren) or pulsed (horn) operation. (See steps 5 Transmitter Feature Programming) out of the box, the setting is constant (siren) output.
Siren Connection:
Connect the brown wire to the red wire coming from the siren. Connect the black wire from the siren to the frame of the motorcycle.
Horn Connection:
Follow the diagram below for proper connection of the brown wire to the motorcy­cle’s horn. Optional relay is required.
Note: The security system must be programmed so the motorcycle’s horn can be used as the audible warning device. See “Feature Programming” to program the security system.
Orange Wire:
The orange wire is the input for the valet/override switch. Connect the orange wire to one of the wires coming from the valet/override switch provided. Connect the remain­ing wire on the valet switch to the frame of the vehicle.
Blue Wire with White Stripe: (LED Output)
The blue wire with white stripe provides a special programmed ground signal to the status LED supplied with this alarm. Connect the blue wire with white stripe to the black wire of the LED indicator. Connect the red wire from the LED indicator to a con­stant +12 Volt power source.
Blue Wire: (Ground Input)
The blue wire is an auxiliary trigger input for any grounding type sensor installed with the MA-660M in addition to the built-in shock sensor. Connect the blue wire to the trig­ger output of the addition sensor installed.
Black Thin Wire: (RF Antenna)
The black thin wire on the alarm is the receiver’s antenna wire. Antenna placement is very important. Make sure that the antenna is unwrapped and the last 6” is straight. Keep the antenna away from large metal objects or the chassis for best reception.
