Installation Instructions

Mounting the Unit
Screw Mount:
The DVU-3G2 comes with screws to permanently mount the
unit to the dashboard or some other area in the vehicle.
1. Make sure that the mounting location does not interfere
with the operation of the vehicle. Also make sure the
screws will not damage anything behind the dash.
2. Use the provided screws to mount unit.
Caution
• Never install the product in a location where it interferes with your field of vision.
•
Use the proper power supply. This product is designed for operation with a negative grounded 12V DC battery system. If the product is used with the improper
system it may cause a fire or an accident.
• This product must be installed and used in accordance with this manual. Any alterations to this product that enables it to be used in any way other than intended or
designed could distract the driver and result in an accident causing injury or death.

to install and operate in any other manner in which this unit was intended.

Do not disassemble, modify the unit or attempt to repair the product yourself. If
the product needs to be repaired, consult your dealer.
Velcro Mount:
The DVU-3G2 comes with a Velcro pad for mounting the unit to
the dashboard or some other accessible area in the vehicle.
1. Make sure the surface area where the Velcro will adhere to is
clean. The area must be free from any interior protectorants.
2. Remove the backing on one side of the Velcro pad and apply
the to the DVU-3G2.
3. Remove the backing on the other side of the Velcro pad and
press the unit firmly into the designated mounting location.
Optional Hard Wiring
Conect the Wire with the White Stripe
to a Fused 15A Switched Power Source

Conect the Black Wire
to Chassis Ground
Hard Wiring:
The DVU-3G2’s can be hard wired for permanent installation in
a vehicle
.
1. Cut off the VPA connector making sure to leave the
enough cable to reach the connection point.
2. Connect the wire with the white stripe to a fused 15A
switched power source.
Note: If the wire with the white stripe is not connected to a
switched power source when the ignition is turned off the
DVU-3G2 will continue to draw its power from the vehicle’s
battery and over an extended time may drain the battery.
3. Connect the black wire to chassis ground.

Note: Power consumption for all connected devices shall not exceed 120 watts.

Operation Instructions
Inserting a USB Cable:
Gently insert the USB drive into the slot.
Note: If a USB connector does not insert, DO NOT FORCE it into
the slot, flip the connector over and try again

VPA Operation Instructions
Inserting a VPA Charger:
1.
Remove the cover from a VPA socket. The interior of the
socket will be illuminated green indicating the unit has power.
2. Insert the VPA into the socket. Make sure to fully insert the
charger.
3. To remove the charger hold the DVU-3G2 and pull the VPA
charger out of the socket. Do not pull the VPA’s cable to
remove the charger.
Removing a USB Cable:
Pull the USB connector straight out of the socket. Do not pull
the USB’s cable to remove the USB connector from its socket.
Damage may occur.
DO NOT USE CIGARETTE
LIGHTERS WITH THIS UNIT.

Changing the Fuse:
Should the DVU-3G2 fail to operate, replace the fuse
1. Unplug the DVU-3G2’s VPA plug from the vehicle’s power socket.
2. Use a fuse puller to remove the fuse.
3. If the fuse is burnt, place a new fuse with exactly the same
amperage rating (15 Amp).
4.
Plug the VPA plug back into the vehicle’s power socket.
5. If the DVU-3G2 works correctly after fuse replacement continue to use the device.
Note: If the DVU-3G2 does not function properly and the new
fuse blows immediately, there is a problem and discontinue
