BRAKE TRUCK WING ASSEMBLY
The brake truck wings bolt to the hand truck frame using the provided fasteners. The LH/RH wings interlock with
the frame (see Figure 2) for maximum strength.
For retrofitting wings to an existing hand truck see directions at bottom of page first.
1. Align the wing red stripe insert in the upper holes with the mating holes in the wing.
a. Locate the bottom mounting hole approximately 1" from the end. Use light blows with a hammer to pierce
one 1/4"-20 screw (D) through the red stripe.
b. Locate the middle mounting hole first above the middle cutout area in the wing. Use light blows with a
hammer to pierce one 1/4"-20 screw (C) through the red stripe.
2. Assemble wings to each side (see Figure 1).
a. Align the RH wing with the right side of the hand truck frame.
b. Insert two 1/4"-20 pan head screws (F) through the upper two holes in the wing, hand truck frame and
handle. Finger tighten with 1/4" lock nuts (E). NOTE: There may be excess hardware included in kit.
Please use the parts list chart to determine correct screws for your handle choice.
c. Insert one 1/4"-20 x 3/4" long pan head screw (C) through the first mounting hole located above the wing's
middle cutout and hand truck frame. Finger tighten with 1/4" locknut (E).
d. Insert one 1/4"-20 x 1-1/4" long pan head screw (D) through the bottom wing mounting hole,
hand truck frame and frame reinforcement. Finger tighten with 1/4" locknut (E).
e. Repeat steps a – d to assemble the LH wing.
3. Securely tighten the wing mounting screws (50 - 60 inch lbs. of torque).

FIELD RETROFIT
For retrofitting wings to an existing hand truck four mounting holes may need to be drilled in the frame using the
holes in the wings as a template.
1. Align the RH wing with the right side of the truck frame (see Figure 1).
2. Using a 5/16" drill bit and electric drill, and the existing holes in the wing labeled in Figure 1 as a guide, drill
holes through the truck frame channel.
3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 for the LH wing frame mounting holes.
4. Follow the HAND TRUCK WING ASSEMBLY instruction above to install wings.
