MegaCam is a flexible and portable USB video webcam
and works with Skype, Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live
Messenger (Windows only), iChat (Mac only) and aMSN (mac
only). The Macally MegaCam gives you endless ways to have
fun!

Using the Macally M egaCam
The Macally MegaCam is an UVC (USB Video Class) device
that uses and installs all necessar y drivers automatically from
the operating system. You only need to plug the Macally
MegaCam to the USB 2.0 port of your computer or AC powered
USB 2.0 hub and set on your desk or clip to your notebook or
flat panel monitor.
The Macally MegaCam is tested with and fully supports Skype,
Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Apple iChat
and aMSN at the time this manual is written (April 2010).

However, as software develops continuously we recommend
you to search for and download the latest video conferencing
software updates available to your operating system.
Video con ferencing appli cations
iChat ( Mac only)
Connect the Macally MegaCam to your computer (connected
to the Internet), log-on to iChat and select Preferences. In
the Preferences menu select the Audio/Video or Video icon
and selec t “USB 2.0 Camera” under Camera and Microphone
options. When you are done close the Preferences menu.
Click on the green camera icon in the iChat Buddy List to
test the MegaCam. Click on a contact in your Buddies Lists.
Once connected, the other party will be able to see you
on iChat video as shown below. If, the other party has an
active webcam, you will see him or her as well. Please note
the picture-in-picture windows, the big window shows the
remote camera, the small window shows the local camera for
monitoring purpose.
Skype
In Mac OS, connect the Macally MegaCam to your computer (connected to the Internet), log-on to Skype and select
Preferences. In the Preference Menu, select the Audio icon
and choose Macally USB Microphone as Audio Input. Then,
select the Video icon, choose USB 2.0 Camera as camera
source and check the options “Enable Skype Video” and “Start
my video automatically”. Close the Preferences window and
you are ready to go!
In Windows, connect the Macally MegaCam to your computer

(connected to the Internet), log-on to Skype, go to Tools and
select Options. In the Options menu, select Audio Settings
and choose USB 2.0 Camera as Microphone. Then, select Video
Settings, choose USB Video Device as webcam. Click the Save
button to exit and you are ready to go! Call your contact, click
“Start my video“and your contact will be able to see you in
Skype. (You can use Skype Test Call to test the microphone
and speaker sound.)
The Skype window below shows how your friend sees you,
the small picture in the big picture shows her local web cam.
Yahoo ! Me ssenger
In Mac OS, connect the Mac ally MegaCam to your computer
(connected to the Internet), log-on to Yahoo! Messenger and
select “Star t Broadcast” in the Webcam menu. Now you can
enjoy live video chatting with your friends!
In Windows, connect the Macally MegaCam to your computer
(connected to the Internet), log-on to Yahoo! Messenger and
select Preferences. In the Preferences menu select Calling &
Audio and choose USB 2.0 Camera as Microphone. Then, select
Super Webcam and choose “Start SuperWebcam mode automatically”. To start video conferencing, right click on a contact
to pop down the menu, go to “More Actions” and choose
“Invite to View My Webcam”. Or else, in the Instant Messenger
window, go to “Actions” and select Invite to View My Webcam.
Now you can enjoy live video chatting with your friends!

Windows Li ve Messenger (Windows on ly)
Connect the Macally MegaCam to your computer (connected
to the Internet), log-on to Windows Live Messenger. In the
menu bar, select “Tools”, then “Audio and video setup…” and
follow the instructions. In “Step 2: Microphone Setup” select
USB 2.0 Camera and in “Step 3: Webcam Setup” select USB
Video Device. Click “Finish” to close the Window. Then, in the
menu bar selec t Video and “ Show your webcam…”. Right
click on an online contact to pop down the menu and select
“Start a video call”. Once you are connected, your contact will
see you as shown below.
Frequently Asked Quest ions
Q: Do I need to purchase additional soft ware to make the
Macally MegaCam work with iChat?
A: No. The Macally MegaCam is automatically recognized
by iChat.
Q: Can I run multiple video conferencing applications simulta-
neously while using the Macally MegaCam?
A: No. You can only use the Macally MegaCam with one video
conferencing application at the time.
Q: Why don’t I see any video?
A: If there is no video, restart your computer and run one video
conferencing application only. If there is still no video, in Mac
please try to reset the PR AM by restarting your computer and
immediately press and hold down 4 keys simultaneously:
Option, Cmd (Apple key), P and R. Hold down these keys until
the Mac sounds chime three times.
Q: Can I use the Macally MegaCam with a new iMac, MacBook,
MacBook Air or MacBook Pro with built-in iSight camera?
A: Yes. You can use the Macally MegaCam, instead of the builtin iSight camera, to capture video and photos all around your
computer with more flexibility.
Q: Will the Macally MegaCam cause any conflict with the computer’s built-in microphone?
A: No. The Macally MegaCam’s built-in microphone is USB
Audio type and will not cause any conflict with your computer’s internal microphone. Please note, if the audio does not
work after you have tried all things, you might need to configure Audio Input source from Sound in System Preferences of
Mac OS X or from Sounds and Audio Devices of Control Panel
in Windows XP and Vista.
Q: My MegaCam video image is blurry. What can I do to obtain
a clearer image?
A: Please adjust the focus by turning the Focus Adjust Ring on
the Macally MegaCam.
Q: Can I plug the Macally MegaCam to an USB 1.1 or keyboard’s
USB port?
A. No, you can’t. The Macally MegaCam requires more power
than USB 1.1 or a keyboard’s USB port can provide. Please
connect the Macally MegaCam to a computer with a built-in
USB 2.0 port or an AC powered USB 2.0 hub.
Q: What other applications work with MegaCam?
A: On a Mac, PhotoBooth, iStopMotion and Delicious Librar y
are tested and work with the Macally MegaCam. However, as
the operating system and software develops, the compatibility might change, please test the Macally MegaCam with your
desired application to find out.

Warranty
Macally Peripherals warrants that this product will be free from defects in
title, materials and manufac turing workmanship for two (2) years from
the date of the purchase. If the product is found to be defec tive then, a s
your sole remedy and as the manufacturer’s only obligation, Macally will
repair or replace the product. This warranty is exclusive and is limited to
the Macally MegaCam. This warranty shall not apply to products that have
been subjected to abuse, misuse, abnormal elec trical or environmental
conditions, or any condition other than what can be considered normal use.
The liability of Macally Peripherals arising from this warranty and sale
shall be limited to a refund of the purchase price. In no event shall Macally
Peripherals be liable for costs of procurement of substitute products or
services, or for any lost profits, or for any consequential, incidental, direct
or indirect damages, however caused and on any theory of liability, arising
from this warranty and sale. These limitations shall apply notwithstanding
any failure of essential purpose of any limited remedy.

Benutzung der Macall y USB MegaCa m
Die Macally MegaCam ist eine UVC Standard USB Webcam die
automatisch alle für das Betriebssystem notwendigen Treiber
installiert und benutzt. Sie brauchen die Macally MegaCam
lediglich an einen USB 2.0 Eingang Ihres Computers oder
an einen netzgespeisten USB 2.0 Hub anschliessen und

auf Ihrem Schreibtisch aufstellen oder am Notebook oder
Flachbildschirm festklammern.
Tests ergaben das die Macally MegaCam Apple iChat, Skype,
Yahoo! Messenger und Windows Live Messenger, zumindest zum Zeitpunkt der Erstellung dieses Handbuchs (April
2010), vollständig unterstützt. Da sich jedoch Software fortlaufend entwickelt, empfehlen wir die neusten Versionen der
Programme für Videokonferenzen für Ihr Betriebssystem zu
suchen und herunter zu laden.
Anwendungen für Videokonferen zen
iChat ( nur Mac)
Schliessen Sie die Macally MegaCam an Ihren (mit dem
Internet verbundenen) Computer an, melden Sie sich im iChat
an und wählen Sie die Option Einstellungen aus. Im Menü
Einstellungen wählen Sie das Symbol für Audio/Video oder
das Symbol Video und dann “USB 2.0 Kamera” unter der
Option Kamera und Mikrophon. Danach schliessen Sie das
Menü Einstellungen. Für einen Test der MegaCam, klicken
Sie auf das grüne Kamerasymbol in der Kontaktliste von
iChat. K licken Sie auf einen Kontakt in Ihrer Kontakliste. Ist
die Verbindung hergestellt, kann der andere Teilnehmer, wie
nachfolgend dargestellt, Sie unter iChat Video sehen. Hat der
andere Teilnehmer auch eine Webcam eingeschaltet, können
Sie diesen oder diese ebenfalls sehen. Achten Sie auf das
Bild-im-Bild Fenster, das grosse Fenster zeigt die Kamera des
anderen Teilnehmer, das schmale Fenster die lokale Kamera
zur Kontrolle.

Im Menü Einstellungen wählen Sie das Audio-Symbol und
danach Macally USB Mikrophon als Audioquelle. Nachfolgend
wählen Sie das Video Symbol und USB 2.0 Kamera als Quelle,
markieren Sie die Optionen “Skype Video aktivieren” und
“Mein Video automatisch star ten”. Schliessen das Fenster der
Einstellungen und Sie sind bereit!
Unter Windows, schliessen Sie die Macally MegaCam an
Ihren (mit dem Internet verbundenen) Computer an, melden
Sie sich in Skype an und wählen Sie die Optionen aus. Im
Menü Optionen wählen Sie unter den Audioeinstellungen
die USB 2.0 Kamera als Mikrophon aus. Danach, unter den
Videoeinstellungen, wählen Sie als Webcam die Option USB
Video Gerät. Zum Beenden der Einstellungen, klicken Sie auf
die Schaltfläche Speichern und Sie sind bereit! Rufen Sie Ihren
Kontaktpartner an, klicken Sie auf “Mein Video starten” und
Ihr Gesprächsteilnehmer kann Sie in Skype sehen. (Sie können
den Testanruf von Skype benutzen um das Mikrophon und die
Lautsprecher zu überprüfen.)
Das unten dargestellte Fenster von Skype zeigt wie Ihr Freund
Sie sehen wird. Das schmale Fenster innerhalb des grossen
Fensters zeigt die lokale Webcam des Teilnehmers.

sich im Yahoo! Messenger an und wählen Sie aus dem Menü
Webcam die Option “Übertragung starten”. Sie können nun
eine Videounterhaltung mit Ihren Freunden führen!
Unter Windows, schliessen Sie die Macally MegaCam an Ihren
(mit dem Internet verbundenen) Computer an, melden Sie
sich im Yahoo! Messenger an und wählen Sie die Option
Einstellungen aus. Im Menü Einstellungen wählen Sie unter
Anrufe und Audio die USB 2.0 Kamera als Mikrophon aus.
Danach wählen Sie Super Webcam und “SuperWebcam
automatisch star ten”. Um eine Videokonferenz zu beginnen,
wählen Sie per Rechtsklick einen Kontakt und aus dem angezeigten Menü “Weitere Aktionen” und “Einladen um meine
Webcam zu sehen”. Oder, im Fenster des Instant Messenger,
gehen Sie zu “Aktionen” und wählen Sie “Einladen um meine
Webcam zu sehen”. Sie können nun eine Videounterhaltung
mit Ihren Freunden führen!
Windows Li ve Messenger (nur Windows)
Schliessen Sie die Macally MegaCam an Ihren (mit dem
Internet verbundenen) Computer an und melden Sie sich im
Windows Live Messenger an. In der Menüleiste wählen Sie
“Eigenschaften” und dann “Audio und Videoeinstellungen…”,
folgen Sie dann den Anweisungen. Im “S chritt 2:
Mikrophoneinstellungen” wählen Sie USB 2.0 Kamera und
in “Schritt 3: Webcam Einstellungen” wählen Sie USB Video
Gerät. Klicken Sie auf “Beenden” um das Fenster zu schliessen.
Danach wählen Sie aus der Menüleiste die Option Video und
“Ihr Webcam zeigen…”. Mit einem Rechtsklick auf einen
Kontakt erscheint ein Menü aus dem Sie “Einen Videoanruf
starten” wählen. Ist die Verbindung dann aufgebaut, kann Ihr
Kontakt Sie wie unten dargestellt sehen.

F: Muss ich zusätzliche Programme kaufen um die Macally
MegaCam mit iChat zu benutzen?
A: Nein. Die Macally MegaCam wird automatisch von iChat
erkannt.
F: Kann ich mehrere Anwendungen für Videokonferenzen
gleichzeitig mit der Macally MegaCam benutzen?
A: Nein. Sie können zum gleichen Zeitpunkt die Macally
MegaCam immer nur mit einem einzigen Programm für
Videokonferenzen betreiben.
F: Warum sehe ich kein Bild?
A: Wenn Sie kein Bild erhalten, starten Sie Ihren Computer neu
und benutzen S ie nur ein Programm für Videokonferenzen.
Sollte immer noch kein Bild erscheinen, versuchen Sie bei
einem Mac die PRAM zu initialisieren indem Sie den Computer
neu starten und sofort folgende 4 Tasten gleichzeitig gedrückt
halten: Option, Cmd (Apple-Taste), P und R. Halten sie diese
Tasten gedrückt bis der Mac dreimal einen Piepston von sich
gibt.
F: Kann ich die Macally MegaCam mit einem neuen iMac,
MacBook, MacB ook Air oder MacBook Pro mit eingebauter
iSight Kamera benutzen?
A: Ja. Sie können die Macally MegaCam anstatt der eingebauten iSight Kamera verwenden, um mit grösserer Flexibilität
Videos oder Standbilder rund um Ihren Computer herum
aufzunehmen.
F: Wird die Macally MegaCam mit dem im Computer eingebauten Mikrophon in Konflikt geraten?
A: Nein. Das in der Macally MegaCam eingebaute Mikrophon
ist vom Typ USB-Audio und gerät nicht mit dem internen

Mikrophon des Computers in Konflikt. Bitte beachten Sie,
sollte der Ton nicht funktionieren, nachdem Sie schon
alles ausprobiert haben, k ann es notwendig sein, das
Sie Ihre Audioeingangsquelle unter Ton und Klang der
Systemeinstellungen des Mac OS X oder Ton und Audio Geräte
unter den Systemeinstellungen bei Windows XP und Vista
ändern müssen.
F: Das Bild meiner MegaCam ist undeutlich. Was kann ich tun
um ein schärferes Bild zu erhalten?
A: Stellen Sie die Bildschär fe ein, indem Sie den Ring an der
Macally MegaCam drehen.
F: Kann ich die Macally MegaCam an einen USB 1.1 Eingang
oder USB Eingang einer Tastatur anschliessen?
A: Nein. Die Macally MegaCam benötigt mehr Strom als USB
1.1 oder ein USB Anschluss an einer Tastatur bereitstellen können. Schliessen die Macally MegaCam an einem Computer mit
eingebauten USB 2.0 Eingang an, oder verwenden Sie einen
netzgespeisten USB 2.0 Hub.
F: Welche andere Anwendungen arbeiten mit der MegaCam?
A: Auf Mac’s wurden PhotoBooth, iStopMotion und Delicious
Library getestet. Diese arbeiten mit der Macally MegaCam.
Jedoch, im Laufe der Entwicklung des Betriebssystems und
der Software, kann sich die Kompatibilität ändern. Um dies
herauszufinden, testen Sie die Macally MegaCam mit Ihrem
bevorzugten Programm.
Gewährleistung
Macally Peripherals garantiert daß dieses Produkt frei von Rechtsmängeln
ist, und gewährleistet eine Garantie von zwei (2) Jahre für Materialund Fertigungsfehler ab Kaufdatum. Sollte das Produkt jedoch Mängel
aufweisen, so besteht der Anspruch des Käufers und die Verpflichtung
des Herstellers lediglich in der Reparatur oder im Ersatz des Produkts
durch Macally. Diese Gewährleistung gilt ausschließlich für dem
MegaCam. Sie gilt nicht für den Fall, daß der Defekt des Produkts
durch A nwendungsfehler, Mißbrauch, anormale elektrische oder
Umweltbedingungen bzw. Bedingungen entstand, die nicht als normaler
Gebrauch gelten.
Die Verantwortung von Macally Peripherals aufgrund dieser Garantie ist
auf den Wert des von Ihnen verauslagten Kaufpreises begrenzt. In keinem Falle haftet Macally Peripherals für Vertretungskosten, Kosten für
den Produktersatz oder Serviceleistungen wie auch verloren gegangenen
Gewinn oder andere folgerichtige zufällige, direkte oder indirekte Schäden
wie auch immer verursacht und in welcher Haftungstheorie enthalten,
die ihre Grundlage in dieser Garantie bzw. diesem Kauf haben. Diese
Beschränkungen sind auch dann anzuwenden, wenn die essenziellen Ziele
einer beschränkten Besserung nicht erreicht werden.

Comment utiliser la M acally MegaC am
La Macally MegaCam est un appareil UVC (vidéo de
la catégorie USB) qui utilise et installe automatiquement tout les lecteurs de CD nécessaires à partir du système opératif. Il suffit de brancher le Macally MegaCam
à la prise USB 2.0 de votre ordinateur ou à la prise électrique USB 2.0 et la mettre sur le bureau ou l’attacher
à votre bloc notes ou écran plat.
Le Macally Ice Cam2 a été testé et est parfaitement compatible avec Apple iChat, Skype, Yahoo ! Messenger et Windows

2010). De toute façon, une fois comme le logiciel se perfectionne sans cesse, nous vous conseillons de chercher et de
télécharger les dernières actualisations du logiciel de vidéo
conférence disponibles pour votre système opératif.
Utilisation s de la vid éo conférence
IChat ( Mac seulement )
Branchez le Macally MegaCam à votre ordinateur (branché
sur Internet), démarrez le iChat et choisissez « Preferences ».
Dans le menu « Preferences » choisissez l’icône Audio/Vidéo
ou Vidéo et choisissez « USB 2.0 Camera » sous les options
Camera et Microphone. Quand vous avez terminé fermez le
menu « Preferences ». Cliquez sur l’icône de la camera verte
dans la iChat Buddy List pour tester la MegaCam. Cliquez
sur un contact de votre Buddies List. Une fois branché, votre
correspondant pourra vous voir dans la vidéo iChat comme
montré ci-dessous. Si votre correspondant a sa webcam branchée, vous pourrez le voir également. Remarquez la fenêtre
« picture-in-picture », la grande fenêtre montre la caméra
lointaine alors que la petite montre la plus proche pour
pouvoir surveiller.
Fermez la fenêtre « Preferences » et vous pouvez commencer !
Dans le Windows, branchez le Macally MegaCam à votre
ordinateur (branché sur Internet), démarrez la Skype, allez
à « Tools » et choisissez « Options ». Dans le menu « Options
», sélectionnez « Audio settings » et choisissez « USB 2.0
Camera as Microphone ». Alors, sélectionnez « Video settings
», sélectionnez « USB video Device » comme webcam. Cliquez
sur « Sauvegarder » pour sortir et vous pouvez commencer !
Appelez votre correspondant, cliquez sur « Start my video »
et votre correspondant pourra vous vous voir sur le Skype
(Vous pouvez utiliser l’appel d’essai de Skype pour tester le
microphone et le son des haut-parleurs.)

Windows Li ve Messenger (Windows se ulement)
Branchez le Macally MegaCam à votre ordinateur (branché
sur Internet), démarrez le Windows Live Messenger. Dans la
barre du Menu, sélectionnez « Outils », après « Audio and
Video Setup …» et suivez les instructions. Dans le « Step 2 :
Microphone setup » choisissez « USB 2.0 Camera » et dans le
« Step 3 : Webcam Setup » sélec tionnez « USB Video device».
Cliquez sur « Finish » pour fermer la fenêtre. Alors, dans la
barre du menu choisissez « Video » et « Show Your Webcam
». Cliquez droite sur un contact qui soit online pour minimiser
le menu et choisissez « Start a video call ». Une fois la liaison
établie, votre correspondant vous verra comme vous pouvez
voir en bas.

Q : Est-ce que je dois acheter plus de logiciels pour que le Macally
MegaCam fonctionne avec iChat ?
R : Non. Le Macally MegaCam est automatiquement reconnu
par par le iChat.
Q : Est-ce que je peux faire plusieurs vidéo conférences pendant
que j’utilise le Macally MegaCam ?
R : Non. Vous ne pouvez faire qu’une vidéo conférence à la fois.
Q : Pourquoi est-ce que je ne vois aucune vidéo?
R: S’il n’y a pas de vidéo, redémarrez votre ordinateur et
faites une seule vidéo conférence. Si l’absence de vidéo
persiste, dans le Mac, SVP, essayez de redémarrer le PRAM
redémarrant votre ordinateur et appuyant immédiatement
4 touches simultanément : Option, Cmd (touche Apple), P
et R. Continuez à appuyer jusqu’à ce que l’ordinateur sonne

Q : Est-ce que je peux utiliser le Macally MegaCam avec un

avec votre ordinateur plus facilement.
Q. Est-ce qu’il y aura une incompatibilité entre le Macally
MegaCam et le microphone de l’ordinateur ?
R : Non. Le microphone de la Macally MegaCam est du tipe
USB Audio et ne posera pas de problème avec le microphone

Cómo uti lizar su Mac ally MegaCam
Su Macally MegaCam es un dispositivo UVC (USB Video Class)
el cual utiliza e instala todos los drivers necesarios de modo
automático desde el sistema operativo. Sólo necesita conectar
su Macally MegaCam al puerto USB 2.0 de su ordenador, o al
hub USB 2.0 alimentado con CA, y colocarla sobre su escritorio
o sujetarla en su portátil o monitor de pantalla plana.
Su Macally MegaCam se ha probado y es totalmente compatible con Apple iChat, Skype, Yahoo! Messenger y Windows
Live Messenger en el momento en que se escribe este manual
(abril de 2010). Sin embargo, debido al rápido desarrollo del
software, le recomendamos buscar y descargar las últimas

Aplicaci ones de video conferencia
iChat ( Mac solamente)
Conecte su Macally MegaCam a su ordenador (conectado a
internet), regístrese en el iChat y elija sus preferencias. En
el menú “Preferences”, seleccione “Audio/Video” o el icono
“Video” y seleccione “USB 2.0 Camera” en las opciones de
cámara y micrófono. Una vez hecho esto, cierre el menú
“Preferences”. Haga clic en el icono de la cámara verde en
la lista iChat Buddy para probar la MegaCam. Haga clic en
un contacto en su lista de Buddies. Una vez conectado, su
compañero podrá verlo en su vídeo de iChat como se muestra
a continuación. Si su compañero dispone de una webcam
activa, también podrá verlo. Observe que en la ventana de
“picture-in-picture”, la ventana grande muestra la cámara
remota, mientras que la ventana pequeña muestra la cámara
local para fines de control.
En Windows, conecte su Macally MegaCam a su ordenador (conectado a internet), regístrese en Skype y vaya a
“Herramientas” y seleccione “Opciones”. En el menú

P: ¿Necesito comprar algún sof tware adicional para que mi
Macally MegaCam funcione con iChat?
R: No. Su Macally MegaCam es automáticamente reconocida
por iChat.
P: ¿Puedo ejecutar varias aplicaciones de videoconferencia de
modo simultáneo cuando utilizo mi Macally MegaCam?
R: No. Únicamente puede utilizar su Macally MegaCam con
una aplicación de videoconferencia de cada vez.
P: ¿Por qué no veo ningún vídeo?
R: Si no puede ver ningún vídeo, reinicie su ordenador y
ejecute sólo una aplicación de videoconferencia. En caso de
persistir el problema, en Mac reinicie la PRAM reiniciando
su ordenador y pulsando inmediatamente, y manteniendo
pulsadas, 4 teclas de modo simultáneo: Option, Cmd (tecla
Apple), P y R. Mantenga pulsadas estas cuatro teclas hasta que
los acordes de inicio de Mac suenen tres veces.
P: ¿Puedo utilizar mi Macally MegaCam con un nuevo iMac,
MacBook, MacB ook Air o MacBook Pro con una cámara iSight
incorporada?
R: Sí. Puede utilizar su Macally MegaCam, en lugar de la
cámara iSight incorporada, para capturar vídeos y fotos de
cualquier parte de su ordenador con mayor flexibilidad.
P: ¿Puede provocar algún conflicto mi Macally MegaCam con el
micrófono incorporado en el ordenador?
R: No. El micrófono incorporado de su Macally MegaCam es un

Gebruik van de Macal ly MegaCam
De Macally MegaCam is een UVC-apparaat (USB Videoklasse)
dat alle drivers automatisch vanuit het besturingssysteem
gebruikt en installeert. U hoeft de Macally MegaCam alleen
maar op de USB 2.0-poort van uw computer of op en USB
2.0-hub met AC-voeding aan te sluiten en vervolgens op
uw bureau te zetten of op uw notebook of platbeeldscherm
te clippen.
De Macally MegaCam is op het moment dat deze handleiding
werd geschreven (april 2010), met Apple iChat, Skype, Yahoo!
Messenger en Windows Live Messenger getest en ondersteunt

deze programma’s allemaal . Maar omdat software voortdurend in ontwikkeling is, raden wij u aan de recentste updates
van de videoconferentiesoftware voor uw besturingssysteem
te zoeken en te downloaden.
Videoconfere ntieprogramma’s
iChat ( alleen voor Mac)
Sluit de Macally MegaCam op uw computer aan (die op
het internet is aangesloten), log in op iChat en selecteer
Voorkeuren. In het Voorkeurenmenu selec teert u Audio/
Video of het videopictogram en selecteert u “USB 2.0 Camera”
bij de opties “Camera en Microfoon”. Vervolgens sluit u het
Voorkeurenmenu. Klik op het groene camerapictogram in de
iChat Vriendenlijst om de MegaCam te testen. Klik op een contact in uw Vriendenlijst. Wanneer u aangesloten bent, kan de
andere persoon u op iChat video zien, zoals hieronder wordt
getoond. Als de andere persoon een webcam aan heeft, kunt
u hem of haar ook zien. Let op de foto-in-fotovensters: het
grote venster toont de camera op afstand, het kleine venster
toont de lokale camera ter controle.
Sluit bij Windows de Macally MegaCam op uw computer aan
(die op het internet is aangesloten), log in op Skype, ga naar
Tools en selecteer Opties. In het Optiemenu selecteert u Audio
Settings en kiest u USB 2.0 Camera als Microfoon. Vervolgens
selecteert u Video Settings en kiest u USB Video Device als
webcam. Klik op de Bewaarknop om het menu te verlaten
en u bent er klaar voor! Bel uw contact op, klik op “Start mijn
video” en uw contact kan u in Skype zien. (U kunt de Skype
Test Call gebruiken om de microfoon en het speakergeluid
te testen).
Onderstaand Skypevenster laat u zien hoe uw vrienden u
zullen zien, de kleine foto in de grote foto laat de lokale
webcam zien.
Skype
Sluit bij Mac OS de Macally MegaCam op uw computer aan
(die op het internet is aangesloten), log in op Skype en
selecteer Voorkeuren. In het Voorkeurenmenu selecteert u het
audiopictogram en kiest u Macally USB M icrofoon als Audio
Input. Vervolgens selecteert u het videopictogram, kiest u USB
2.0 Camera als camerabron en vinkt u de opties “Skype Video
Autoriseren” en “Mijn video automatisch opstarten” aan. Sluit
het Voorkeurenvenster en u bent er klaar voor!

Yahoo
Sluit bij Mac OS de Macally MegaCam op uw computer
aan (die op het internet is aangesloten), log in op Yahoo!
Messenger en selecteer “Uitzending starten” in het webcammenu. Nu kunt u live videochatten met uw vrienden!
Sluit bij Windows de Macally MegaCam op uw computer
aan (die op het internet is aangesloten), log in op Yahoo!
Messenger en selecteer “Voorkeuren”. In het Voorkeurenmenu
selecteert u Bellen & Audio en kiest u USB 2.0 Camera als
Microfoon. Vervolgens selecteer t u Super Webcam en kiest
u “De SuperWebcammodus automatisch opstarten”. Om de
videoconferentie te beginnen, klikt u met de rechtermuisknop

op een contact om het menu te kunnen zien, gaat u naar
“Meer Acties” en kiest u “Uitnodigen om mijn webcam te
zien”. Een andere mogelijkheid is om in het Instant Messenger
venster naar “Acties” te gaan en “Uitnodigen om mijn webcam
te zien” te selecteren. Nu kunt u live videochatten met uw
vrienden!
Windows Li ve Messenger (alleen voor Windows)
Sluit de Macally MegaCam op uw computer aan (die op het
internet is aangesloten), log in op Windows Live Messenger. In
de menubalk selecteert u “Tools”, vervolgens “Audio en videosetup…” en volgt u de instructies. In “Stap 2: Microfoonsetup”
selecteert u USB 2.0 Camera en in “Stap 3: Webcamsetup”
selecteert u USB Video Device. Klik op “Beëindigen” om het
venster te sluiten. Vervolgens selecteert u in de menubalk
“Video” en “Uw webcam laten zien…” Klik met de rechtermuisknop op een online contact om het menu te kunnen zien en selecteer “Een videogesprek starten”. Wanneer
u aangesloten bent, kan uw contact u zien zoals hieronder
wordt getoond.
Veelgestelde vragen
V: Moet ik extra software aanschaffen om de Macally MegaCam
met iChat te laten werken?
A: Nee, de Macally MegaCam wordt automatisch door iChat
herkend.
V: Kan ik tegelijkertijd meerdere videoconferentieprogramma’s
met de Macally MegaCam gebruiken?
A: Nee, u kunt de Macally MegaCam maar met één videoconferentieprogramma tegelijk gebruiken.
V: Waarom zie ik geen video?
A: Als u geen video ziet, start uw computer dan opnieuw op
en open alleen het videoconferentieprogramma. Als u nog
steeds geen video ziet, probeer bij Mac dan de PRAM te resetten door de computer opnieuw op te starten en meteen de
volgende 4 toetsen tegelijkertijd in te drukken: Option, Cmd
(Apple-toets), P en R. Houd deze toetsen ingedrukt totdat de
Mac-geluiden drie maal te horen zijn.
V: Kan ik de Macally MegaCam met een nieuwe iMac, MacBook,
MacBook Air of MacBook Pro met ingebouwde iSight-camera
gebruiken?
A: Ja, u kunt de Macally MegaCam i.p.v. de ingebouwde
iSight-camera gebruiken om flexibeler videobeelden en foto’s
rondom uw computer te maken.
V: Creëert de Macally MegaCam een conflict met de ingebouwde
microfoon van de computer?
A: Nee. De ingebouwde microfoon van de Macally MegaCam
is van het type USB Audio en creëert geen conflict met
de interne microfoon van uw computer. Als de audio niet
functioneert nadat u al deze dingen heeft geprobeerd, dan
moet u misschien de Audio Inputbron configureren in het
submenu “Geluid” onder Systeemvoorkeuren bij MacOS X
of in het submenu “Geluiden en Audio -apparatuur” van het
Controlepaneel bij Windows XP en Vista.
V: Het videobeeld van mijn MegaCam is wazig. Wat mo et ik
doen om een scherper beeld te krijgen?
A: Zet de focus bij door aan de Focusinstelring op de Macally
MegaCam te draaien.
V: Kan ik de Macally MegaCam op een USB 1.1. of USB-poort van
een toetsenbord aansluiten?
A. Nee. De Macally MegaCam heeft meer voeding nodig dan
een USB 1.1-poort of een USB-poor t van een toetsenbord
kan leveren. Sluit de Mac ally MegaCam aan op een computer
met een ingebouwde USB 2.0-poort of op een USB 2.0-hub

met AC-voeding.
V: Welke andere programma’s werken met MegaCam?
A: Bij Mac werden PhotoBooth, iStopMotion en Delicious
Library getest en deze programma’s werken met de Macally
MegaCam. Maar omdat het besturingssysteem en de software
verder ontwikkeld worden, is de compatibiliteit aan verandering onderhevig. Test daarom de Macally MegaCam met het
gewenste programma en probeer het uit.
Garantie
Macally Peripherals garandeert dat dit product vrij is van materiaalen fabricagefouten en geeft een garantie van twee (2) jaar vanaf de
aankoopdatum. Als het product defec t is, zal Macally als enige verhaalsmogelijkheid en als enige verplichting van de fabrikant, het product herstellen of vervangen. Deze garantie is exclusief en beperkt tot de Macally
MegaCam. Deze garantie is niet van toepassing voor producten die werden
blootgesteld aan verkeerd gebruik, misbruik, abnormale elektrische of
omgevingsvoorwaarden, of elke andere toestand die niet als normale
slijtage kan worden beschouwd.
De aansprakelijkheid van Macally Peripherals tengevolge van deze garantie en verkoop is beperkt tot een terugbetaling van de aankoopprijs.

Macally è una webcam USB 2.0 di 2 megapixel con microfono che funziona con iChat (Soltanto per Mac), Skype,
Yahoo!Messenger, Windows Live Messenger (soltanto per
Windows), etc. Il MegaCam Macally ti assicura un diver timento continuo!
Premessa
Prima di utilizzare l’MegaCam Macally, leggere attentamente

Molti problemi possono essere risolti facilmente. Per evitare un’inutile restituzione del prodotto e risparmiare tempo
e denaro, quando un prodotto Macally evidenzia un problema
seguire le procedure indicate di seguito.
Verificare che a) l’hardware e il soft ware siano conformi a
tutti i requisiti di sistema (vedere imballaggio, manuale e sito
web), b) il prodotto sia collegato nel modo corretto e c) il computer supporti i prodotti che si desidera collegare attraverso il
nostro controller host e hub.

Utilizzo dell’MegaCam M acally
L’MegaCam Macally è un dispositivo UVC (Classe video USB)
che utilizza e installa automaticamente tutti i driver necessari
dal sistema operativo. Basta solo collegare l’MegaCam Macally
alla porta USB 2.0 del computer o dell’AC o hub USB 2.0 con
alimentazione AC e fissarlo sulla scrivania o con la clip al
notebook o al monitor a pannello piatto.
L’MegaCam Macally supporta ed è stato collaudato con Apple
iChat, Skype, Yahoo! Messenger e Windows Live Messenger
al momento della stesura di questo manuale (Aprile 2010).

Tuttavia, poiché il software è in continuo sviluppo consigliamo
di cercare e scaricare gli ultimi aggiornamenti in video conferenza del software disponibili sul proprio sistema operativo.
Applicaz ioni in video conferenza
iChat ( soltanto per Mac)
Collegare l’MegaCam Macally al computer (collegato a
Internet), accedere a iChat e selezionare Preferenze. Nel menu
Preferenze selezionare Audio/Video o l’icona Video e selezionare “Videocamera USB 2.0” nelle opzioni Videocamera
e Microfono. Quando si è terminato chiudere il menu
Preferenze. Cliccare sull’icona verde della videocamera nell’elenco iChat Buddy per provare l’MegaCam. Cliccare su un
contatto presente nell’Elenco degli amici. Una volta collegati,
l’altra parte potrà vedervi sul video iChat come mostrato qui
sotto. Se l’altra parte dispone di una webcam attiva, sarà possibile vederlo/a. Notare la finestra video all’interno di un’altra
immagine (picture-in-picture), la finestra grande mostra la
videocamera remota, quella piccola la videocamera locale
per il monitoraggio.
In Windows, collegare l’MegaCam Macally al computer (collegato a Internet), accedere a Skype, andare a Strumenti e selezionare Opzioni. Nel menu O pzioni, selezionare Impostazioni
audio e scegliere Videocamera USB 2.0 come microfono.
Quindi, selezionare Impostazioni video, scegliere Dispositivo
video USB come webcam. Cliccare il tasto Salva per uscire e
tutto è pronto! Chiamare il proprio contatto, cliccare “Av via il
mio video“ e il contatto potrà vedervi in Skype. (Per provare il
microfono e l’altoparlante utilizzare il Test chiamata di Skype.)
La finestra di Skype qui sotto mostra la visualizzazione da
parte dei vostri amici, l’immagine piccola in quella grande
mostra la web cam locale.

In Mac OS, Collegare l’MegaCam Macally al computer (collegato a Internet), accedere a Skype e selezionare Preferenze.
Nel menu Preferenze, selezionare l’icona Audio e scegliere
Microfono USB Macally come input Audio. Quindi, selezionare
l’icona Video, scegliere Fotocamera USB 2.0 come sorgente
della videocamera e controllare le opzioni “Attiva video Skype”
e “Avvia il mio video automaticamente”. Chiudere la finestra
Preferenze e tutto è pronto!

Yahoo
In Mac OS, collegare l’MegaCam Macally al computer (collegato a Internet), accedere a Yahoo! Messenger e selezionare
“Avvia trasmissione” nel menu Webcam.Ora potrai divertirti a
parlare con i tuoi amici guardandoli sul video!
In Windows, Collegare l’MegaCam Macally al computer (collegato a Internet), accedere a Yahoo! Messenger e selezionare Preferenze. Nel menu Preferenze selezionare Chiamata
e Audio e scegliere Videocamera USB 2.0 come microfono.
Quindi, selezionare Super Webcam e scegliere “Avvia modalità SuperWebcam automaticamente”. Per avviare la video
conferenza, cliccare con il tasto destro su un contatto per far
comparire il menu, andare su “Altre azioni” e scegliere “Invita a

visualizzare la mia Webcam”. Altrimenti, nella finestra Instant
Messenger, andare su “Azioni” e selezionare Invita a visualizzare la mia Webcam. Ora potrai divertirti a parlare con i tuoi
amici guardandoli sul video!
Windows Li ve Messenger (soltanto per Windows)
Collegare l’MegaCam Macally al computer (collegato a
Internet), accedere a Windows Live Messenger. Nella barra dei
menu, selezionare “Strumenti”, poi “Configurazione audio e
video…” e seguire le istruzioni. Nello “Step 2: Configurazione
microfono” selezionare Videocamera USB 2.0 e nello “Step 3:
Configurazione Webcam” selezionare Dispositivo Video USB.
Cliccare “Fine” per chiudere la finestra. Quindi, nella barra dei
menu selezionare Video e “Mostra la webcam…”. Cliccare con
il tasto destro su un contatto on line per far comparire il menu
e selezionare “Inizia una video chiamata”. Una volta collegati,
il contatto potrà vedervi come mostrato qui sotto.
FAQ
D: Per far funzionare l’MegaCam Macally con iChat bisogna
acquistare altri software?
R: No. L’MegaCam Macally viene riconosciuto da iChat in
automatico.
D: È possibile avviare contemporaneamente più applicazioni in
video conferenza mentre si utilizza l’MegaCam Macally?
R: No. L’MegaCam Macally può essere utilizzato solo con
un’applicazione in video conferenza per volta.
D: Perché non vedo nessun video?
R: Se il video non compare, riavviare il computer e lanciare
una sola applicazione in video conferenza. Se il video ancora
non compare, in Mac cercare di reimpostare il PRAM riavviando il computer e premere subito e tenere premuti 4 tasti
contemporaneamente: Opzione, Cmd (tasto Apple), P e R.
Tenere premuti questi tasti fino a sentire il Mac per tre volte.
D: È possibile utilizzare l’MegaCam Macally con un nuovo iMac,
MacBook, MacBook Air o MacBook Pro con videocamera iSight
integrata?
R: Sì. L’MegaCam Macally può essere utilizzato, al posto della
videocamera in iSight integrata, per catturare video e foto
vicino al computer con maggiore flessibilità.
D: L’MegaCam Macally potrebbe causare conflitti con il microfono incorporato nel computer?
R: No. Il microfono incorporato dell’MegaCam Macally è di tipo
Audio USB e non provocherà alcun conflitto con il microfono
interno del computer. Se l’audio non funziona dopo aver provato le varie misure, potrebbe essere necessario configurare
la sorgente d’ingresso dell’audio da Suoni in Preferenze di
sistema in Mac OS X o da Suoni e Dispositivi audio del Pannello
di controllo in Windows XP e Vista.
D: L’immagine video in MegaCam è confusa. Cosa si può fare per
ottenere un’immagine più chiara?
R: Regolare la messa a fuoco ruotando l’anello per la messa a
fuoco sull’MegaCam Macally.
D: È possibile collegare l’MegaCam Macally a una porta USB 1.1
o a una tastiera USB?
R. No. L’MegaCam Macally richiede una maggiore potenza
rispetto a quella di una por ta USB 1.1 o alla porta USB di
una tastiera. Collegare l’MegaCam Macally a un computer
con una porta USB 2.0 integrata o a un hub USB 2.0 con
alimentazione AC.
D: Quali altri applicazioni funzionano con l’MegaCam?
R: Mac, PhotoBooth, iStopMotion e Delicious Library sono
stati testati e funzionano con l’MegaCam Macally. Tuttavia,
considerati gli sviluppi del sistema operativo e del software, la

compatibilità potrebbe cambiare, provare quindi l’MegaCam
Macally con l’applicazione desiderata.
