3. To take another reading, press the POWER button.
4. The thermometer will automatically shut off after 2 minutes of non-use.
Axillary Mode:
1. Place the probe in a clean, dry
armpit so that the probe covered
tip is touching the skin and the
thermometer is per pendicular to
the body.
2. Position the arm across the chest
so the probe tip is well covered by
the arm.
3. In approximately 6 seconds, peak temperature will be reached and the
thermometer will beep 6 times.
4. To take another reading, press the POWER button.
5. The thermometer will automatically shut off after 2 minutes of non-use.
Rectal Mode:
Note: Rectal temperatures are an appropr iate
and reliable method for infants and small children. Otherwise, this method should only be
used when it is impossible or impractical to
take an oral or axillary temperature.
1. After applying a disposable probe cover, apply a watersoluble lubricant to the tip.Do not use petroleum jelly.
2. Gently insert the probe a MAXIMUM of 1/2” into the rectum. DO NOT force insertion if there is any detected
resistance.
3. In approximately 6 seconds, peak temperature will be reached and the
thermometer will beep 6 times.
4. To take another reading, press the POWER button.
5. The thermometer will automatically shut off after 2 minutes of non-use.
All-Purpose Mode:
The All-Purpose Mode can be used at any site (oral, rectal, axillary). Or, if a
reading cannot be reached due to improper technique or operating environment,
the thermometer may automatically change to the All-Purpose Mode.
1. Place the probe in the desired location (oral, axillary, rectal) for measurement. Follow the directions for the corresponding Mode.
Note: Measurements in All-Purpose Mode will take approximately 120 seconds
or longer.
