Battery life:

1. Recharge the battery: Connect the USB cord to the computer speaker.
2. ON/OFF switch is found on the left side.
3. At anytime you can hold the for two seconds to power down the speaker.
4. Battery life icon is found in the upper right hand corner of the display screen. You can expect one to three hours of use depending on the volume levels and speaker function.
5. You’ll get maximum hours using the FM Radio alone followed by using the speaker with a computer or smartphone. You’ll use the most battery power with the MicroSD Card or the USB Key.
NOTE: You may experience some buzzing or feedback if you are playing music while recharging. Should this happen, charge the speaker separately while not playing music.
The Lutema WaveCube Portable has 4 main buttons on the front panel:
Starting from left to right:
Opens main menu, use to make menu selections.
MENU OPTIONS:
There are 7 menu options that can be accessed by pressing the MENU button. The top line displays the function chosen as well as its associated icon.
1. System settings:
Set up the Lutema Speaker time/dates and other functions.
2. Alarm:
Set up an alarm.
3. Calendar: Displays date and local time. NOTE: This
speaker uses the International Clock 0 to 24.
4. Music: Choose to play music from either MicroSD card
or USB key
5. FM Radio: Choose local radio stations
6. Line in: Connect to the computer
7. USB Audio: Currently not available
MENU OPTION
1: SYSTEM SETTINGS:
1a. System Time:
Changes the time and date.
2a. Backlight: Controls the brightness of the screen. 3a. Language: Choose between English or Spanish. 4a. Tool: Set the speaker and FM radio to turn on/o. 5a. Contrast: Controls how dark the LED screen appears. 6a. Firmware version: Displays the version, bar code for product. 7a. Reset Default: Reset the factory settings. 8a. Exit: Leave the System Settings menu without saving anything.
This function allows you to set up your speaker preferences. There are eight choices:
Access any of these options:
• Pressing the MENU button.
• Use the VOL - / VOL + buttons to scroll to the
System Setting.
• Use the VOL - / VOL + to increase/decrease the year.
• Press MENU to access submenu choices.
1a. System Time:
• Press MENU twice to access the SYSTEM SETTINGS. Press MENU again to enter into System Time.
To change the Calendar time and date displayed on the speaker:
2a. Backlight option:
• Press MENU to move across to the MONTH. Use VOL - / VOL + to decrease/increase the month. Be sure about your choice – there is no back option. If you choose incorrectly you’ll have to start from the beginning.
• Press MENU to move across to the DAY. Use VOL - / VOL + to decrease/increase the day.
• Continue in this manner: Use MENU to move across to each section. Use VOL - / VOL + to decrease/increase the hour/minutes/seconds.
• Press MENU. Using VOL + / to scroll down to BACKLIGHT option.
• Use VOL + / VOL + to lower or raise the backlighting. 30 is the highest setting.
• To save changes, press MENU after each section is completed. Pressing / will exit without saving any changes.
To change the intensity of the LED display:
• Press MENU to save changes. Pressing / to exit without saving any changes.
3a. Languages option:
Options available: English or Spanish.
To change languages:
1. Press MENU. Use to scroll down to LANGUAGE option. Press MENU.
2. Default setting is English. To change to Spanish, use VOL+ /
to scroll down.
3. Press MENU.
4a. Tool Menu:
To activate:
• Press MENU
• Use VOL + / to scroll down to TOOL.
• There are two option available:
o Power o Set o Time FM SET
Set Power O Set:
Pick a time to have the speaker automatically turn o:
• Press MENU button twice to display power bar.
• Use VOL - / VOL + to raise or lower the time set.
Highest is 60 minutes.
• Press MENU to nish.
Time FM SET:
Set a time for the FM radio to play
There are 4 options on this submenu:
• Open/close FM time
• FM time
• Tuner Region
• Exit
Open/Close FM Time:
Use the MENU to toggle this option on or off.
FM Time:
Set a time for the FM radio to turn on:
• Once Tool Menu is chosen, press VOL + / to scroll to FM time set
• Use VOL - / VOL + to decrease/increase the time.
Be sure about your choice – there is no back option. If you choose incorrectly you’ll have to start from the beginning.
• Press MENU to choose your option.
• You’ll notice a small icon (clock with FM) in the upper right hand line once the FM time has been set.
Tuner Region:
There are two choices:
• Common Band: VHF Frequency – FM Band Radio 87.5mhz to 108mhz
• Japan Band: VHF Frequency 76mhz to 90mhz The system will default to Common Band.
Exit: Leave the Tool Menu without saving anything.
5a. Contrast:
Controls how bright or how dark the LED screen appears:
• Press MENU.
• Use Vol + / to scroll down to Contrast option.
• Press MENU.
• Power bar will display. Use VOL - / VOL + to
raise or lower contrast. Highest setting: 15. Lowest: 1. Optimal setting: between 9 to 11.
• Use VOL - / VOL + to move through the tracks.
• The message: “Format Error” means the track can’t be recognized.
• You may nd it more efficient not to use folders and have all songs in one root directory.
• Adjust the volume: hold either / VOL - / VOL + for two seconds to bring up the volume bar. Then use / to decrease /increase volume.
MENU OPTION
Choose to play music from either a MicroSD card or USB key. Note: The Music menus will not show or be accessible until card or key has been installed.
4: Music
MicroSD option
Insert the MicroSD card and press it all the way down. Make sure the speaker has been turned on. The speaker will ask you to wait for one second while it begins reading the card.
USB Audio:
Insert the USB key into the slot Music will start instantly as soon as the USB key is inserted. If the music doesn’t play, click on MENU and scroll to the MUSIC option. Press MENU to activate the USB key.
Tips for playing music:
Information Displayed
When the music begins playing you’ll notice two lines of information:
Top yellow line:
Musical note icon: Indicates you are in the Music menu.
Headphone icon: Displays the song line-up (see Cycle Mode for more info)
Numbers: Indicate which track is playing. This will change to A-B if repeat mode is chosen.
Bar icons: Indicates which EQ Setting has been chosen.
Blue screen:
• Length of the song
• How much of the song has played
• Bottom equalizer
Music Menus
Both the MicroSD and USB key share the same submenu options:
4a. Cycle Mode: Choose the order of songs being played 4b. EQ Settings: Choose how speaker level, lower or raise the bass levels 4c. Repeat Mode: Repeat the same song over. Useful for front oces or
waiting rooms. 4d. Directory: Choose or delete a specic song from the list MicroSD card or and USB key. Note: This does not automatically display unless the music is on Pause.
4e. Back: Leave the USB audio function and return to the LED display. 4f. Exit: Leaves the menu without saving any of the changing.
4a. Set Cycle Mode:
• Press MENU to open CYCLE menu.
• Use VOL + / to scroll through list of available options.
• Press MENU to display available options:
o Normal: No repeating o Repeat one: repeat the current song o Repeat Folder: choose a folder to repeat. Only available if the MicroSD
card or USB key has more than one folder.
o Random: repeat random selection of songs o Intro: play short snippets of all songs.
• Once you have chosen the option, press MENU to choose option.
Click on EXIT to leave with making any changes.
4b. EQ Settings
This option controls the output from the Lutema speaker. Choose the equalizer settings for dierent types of music.
To activate:
• Press MENU to open CYCLE menu.
• Use VOL + / to scroll through list to options:
o Natural: Song plays as recorded o Rock: Brings up the bass and sound o Pop: Higher vocals o Classic: Lower bass, add a higher treble o Soft: Lower overall tones o Jazz: Higher mid notes, lower bass and treble o DBB: Dynamic Bass Boost – gives the most bass o SRS WOW: Emulated surround sound feature
• Once you have chosen the option, press MENU to choose option.
• Click on EXIT to leave with making any changes.
4c. Repeat
The repeat button only works when the song is playing. To activate:
Delete File:
This will delete only the current song playing:
Delete All:
• Press MENU to open.
• Use VOL - / VOL + to scroll through list to Repeat Mode.
• Press MENU to select.
• You’ll notice a blinking A-B sign on the top line.
• This option is used for waiting rooms where theme songs are repeated.
4d. Directory
This option can be used to quickly scroll to folders and directories
to choose or delete a track. To activate:
• Press
• Press MENU to display either the directory options
o U-DIR or the CARD folder: Displays the tracks available to play o Delete File: Delete the current track playing o Delete All: Clear all songs o Exit: Leave without making any changes
Choosing a track:
• Press /
• Press MENU.
• Scroll to U-DIR or the CARD folder. Press MENU
• Use VOL - / VOL + to scroll through the list.
• When you reach the track you would like play, press MENU.
• Press / to play the song.
• When a song is playing, you can also use VOL - / VOL +
to scroll through the list.
• Press /
• Press MENU.
• Scroll to Delete File. Press MENU.
• Press VOL + / to change the default setting from No to Yes.
• Press MENU to permanently delete the track from either the MicroSD card or USB key.
• Press /
• Press MENU.
• Scroll to Delete All. Press MENU.
• Press VOL + / to change the default setting from No to Yes.
• Press MENU to permanently delete all the tracks from either the MicroSD card or USB key.
This option deletes all the tracks on the MicroSD card or USB key.
• Press MENU.
• Use VOL - / VOL + to scroll the FM radio icon.
• Press MENU.
MENU OPTION
Exit: Leaves the menu without saving any of the changing.
5: FM RADIO
Be sure the FM antenna provided has been installed into the speaker in order to pick up a signal.
To activate this menu:
Available options:
o Save Channel: Press MENU to save the station currently playing.
You’ll see the number assigned to the station in the top line. Use the / to scroll through the saved channels.
o Speaker Open/close: Press on MENU to open the speaker. The
speaker will automatically default to close when you exit the FM radio.
o Delete channel: Click on MENU to delete the current station
from memory.
o Delete All: Remove all channels from memory. o Auto Search: Scroll through FM band looking for channels. o Common Band: VHF Frequency – FM Band Radio 87.5mhz to
108mhz. The automatic default will be to Common Band.
o Japan Band: VHF Frequency 76mhz to 90mhz o Exit: Leave this menu without saving anything. If you can’t get out
of the FM radio, hold MENU for a few seconds. If that doesn’t work turn the Lutema speaker off using the on/off switch.
Tips for playing music:
• Scroll through the FM dial using VOL - / VOL +
• Adjust the volume: hold VOL - / VOL + for two seconds to bring up the volume bar. Then use VOL - / VOL + to decrease/increase volume.
If the device fails to get a radio signal, follow these steps:
• Move device away from other electronics using radio waves such as cellular phones to avoid interference
• Remove any headphones connected to the device
• Plug in the Lutema RadioWave Antenna
• Power on the device and tune to a radio station
6 Line in
MENU OPTION
Connect to your computer or smartphone to use the Lutema WaveCube as peripheral speaker.
To activate this option:
You’ll need the cord with a Line In/5V connector on one end and the speaker headphone jack on the other. Plug the Line In connector into the speaker and the headphone jack into your computer or smartphone.
Press MENU.
Use VOL - / VOL + to scroll the Line In (headphone icon).
Press MENU.
Start your computers/smartphones playlist. It will be redirected into
the speaker.
Hold VOL - / VOL + to decrease/increase the volume. 15 is the loudest setting.
If the volume is still low, adjust the computer volume level.
You’ll still control the playing and pausing of tracks from your
computer.
