Programmed Features* (using the Feature Button)
The Model 6402D phone is equipped with a display and up to 12 programmed features that are accessible using the button.
To access a feature press and release the button and then press the number or character of the feature you want to use as listed below.
Our standard configuration of Features for the Model 6402D phone is as follows. * Some Feature Button configurations vary for different campuses:
1. Normal (Returns the Display to the normal Date / Time readout
2. Drop (Drops the last participant added to a conference call)
3. Date/Time
4. Directory (use this feature to look up name and extension of other college
staff/faculty by entering the person’s last name using the dial pad)

5. Next (used in conjunction with the Directory feature to scroll through the
list of names)
6. Call Display (used in conjunction with the Directory feature to automatically
dial the number on the display screen)
7. Call Pickup (Allows you to answer other ringing phones in your “Pickup
Group”)
8. Send Calls (use this feature to send calls to voicemail without ringing)
9. &DPSXV6HFXULW\ (Calls Campus Security. Note: May not work on all
phones)
Audix (short cut to the Audix voicemail system, ext 6999)

The Directory feature allows you to search for the extension of another user in your location by keying in the user’s name at the dial pad.
To search the directory for a name:
Press the Feature button and then press the dialpad number corresponding
to the Directory feature (if administered; see list of programmed features earlier in this document).
Key in the last name of the user you wish to call. Keep keying in more
letters of the last name until the name appears on the display.
You can also use the Next feature (if administered) to scroll through names.
To use the Next feature press the Feature button and then press the dialpad number corresponding to the Next feature.
When the name of the party you wish to call appears on the display use the
Call Disp feature(if administered) to automatically dial the number. To use the Call Disp feature press the Feature button and then press the dialpad number corresponding to the Call Disp feature.
To Exit the Directory Feature, press the Normal Feature by pressing the
Feature button and then pressing the dialpad number corresponding to the Normal feature.
To search for a new name exit the Directory feature and start again.
You can program 5 numbers on a Personal Abbreviated Dialing List (in some cases you may have a 10 number list). To program a number follow the steps below:
1) Pickup your handset or press “Speaker”
2) Dial the abbreviated dialing programming code: *0
3) Dial the number “1” (this is the number of the list we use)
4) Dial the position on the list (1 through 5) you want to program.
5) Dial the phone number you want to add (remember to include a 9 if it’s an outside number)
6) Press # to save.

To call a number on your abbreviated dialing list:
1) Pickup your handset or press “Speaker”
2) Dial the abbreviated dialing list code: *1
3) Dial the position number of the phone number you want to call (1 through 5).
Example:
“*11” dials the first number programmed on your list. “*15” dials the 5th(last) number programmed on your list.
Note: If you have a 10 number list the 10th number is dialed using only the 0 like this: “*10”.
