Backbox with extended grille mounting flange for recessed instal­lation of distributed 8" speaker systems is ideal for use in new con­struction where flange protects opening from plaster, poured concrete,
or sheetrock. Backbox may also be used in new or existing construc-

• Welded unitized heavy gauge steel with black powder epoxy finish.

• Undercoated to eliminate acoustic/metallic resonance.

• Three depths

• Four combination .5"–.75" conduit knockouts

• Four .5" wire knockouts.

• Grille mounting flange projects .437" for efficient installation in plas­ter, poured concrete, sheetrock, or suspended tile ceilings. Includes
8-32 screw retaining U-clips to accept a wide variety of grilles.

• When installed in a suspended tile ceiling, T-bridge Model LBS8­CP or SS Series rails are recommended to transfer assembly
weight to ceiling grid. (order separately)

• Models CP84 and UL-CP84
UL Listed when used with speaker/grille assembly noted in chart.

• Models CP7 and CP810 include 1.5" thick premium acoustic lining
(1.5 lbs. density rating) to absorb undesirable resonance in high
frequency range. Cubic volume allows 8" speaker to operate at a
more optimum loading level providing the system with improved low
frequency response.

It shall be fabricated of 22-ga. steel and undercoated to eliminate
acoustic and mechanical resonance. The dimensions shall be

conduit and four .5" wire knockouts. It shall be finished in black pow­der epoxy and have an extended grille mounting flange.

The backbox shall have a foam pad (Model CP84, UL-CP84). The
backbox shall be lined with 1.5” thick acoustic batting (Model CP87,
CP810).
