1. What is the Lotoo PAW 5000
Congratulations on your purchase of the Lotoo PAW 5000. The PAW
5000 is a highly musical portable music player designed for audiophiles
on the move. This digital music player supports all major lossless and
standard music files and conveys engaging and accurate sound in a
solid and attractive design.
Embedded in the core of the PAW 5000 is a high performance Blackfin
514 digital signal processor that prepares the digital signal before it
reaches the DAC section for fast and accurate conversion into the
analogue signal. This processor is also in charge of running the
operating system with fast start-up and navigation and low power
consumption.
PAW 5000 is a highly versatile player equipped with S/PDIF line-out
connection for Hi-Fi equipment and balanced 2.5mm output to
provide connection for balanced headphones and earphones.
Bluetooth connection option offers wireless sound transfer for Bluetooth
enabled headphone and speakers.
Lottoo PAW 5000 supports multiple music formats including DSD, FLAC,
WAV, AAC, ALAC, MP3, WMA, M4A, CUE and APE and more. For fast
and accurate file transfer via computers the PAW 5000 has been fitted
with a high-speed USB 3.0 port. Supports both micro SDHC and micro
SDXC cards up to 2TB the PAW 5000 offers storage for thousands of
albums.

4. Getting Started
Charging
Before using your PAW 5000, please ensure that it has been charged to
its maximum capacity, via the USB 3.0 connection. The recommended
initial charge period is 6-8 hours. Subsequent charges should last until
the unit shows 100% Charged but the unit may be used as normal
during this charge period.
Installing the Micro SD card
Insert a blank Micro SD card into the slot on the base of the PAW 5000.
Push the card until you hear click sound and then release. The card
should remain in position inside the PAW 5000.
To release the card, push gently on the card until you hear a click
sound the slowly let go. The card should pop out to stick out around
3mm from the player. You are then free to take the card.
Switching on the Lotoo PAW 5000
To power on the Lotoo PAW 5000, hold down the power button for
around three seconds until the loading bar is full. The first time you
power up the unit, you will be asked to select you preferred language.
Use the jog wheel and confirm button to do so.
Formatting the Micro SD card
The Lotoo PAW 5000 supports both micro SDHC and micro SDXC cards
up to 2TB, formatted in the FAT32 file system. We advise you format a
blank card in the Lotoo PAW 5000 before use. To format your Micro SD
card in the PAW 5000:
1. Insert a Micro SD card into the Lotoo PAW 5000
2. Power on the PAW 5000
3. Hold the Back/Setup button (14)
4. Use the Jog Wheel (09) to select System Settings and press the
confirm button (10)
5. Use the Jog Wheel (09) to select Format and press the confirm
button (10)
6. Use the Jog Wheel (09) to select Yes and press the confirm
button (10)
7. Wait while the card is formatted.
