Safety precautions
3 Safety precautions
Hazard-free working with the battery and the
charger is only possible if you read the operating and safety instructions completely and
strictly observe them.
Do not expose the machine to rain; do not
clean with sprays or steam jets.
If the power cable is damaged or severed
while working, do not touch the cable, but immediately pull out the mains plug. Never use
a machine if the mains cable is damaged.
The charger must be used only in closed, dry
rooms. If the charger gets wet for any reason, you must never connect it to the mains
power. If it gets wet during the charging process, the charger must not be touched and
you must rst disconnect it from the mains
supply.
Do not open up the battery and protect it from
impacts, heat and re.
Danger of explosion!
Service and repair work may only be carried out by a
trained electrician.
The battery and the charger must be kept away from
children. Children and persons who are unable to operate the charger safely, as a result of their physical,
sensory or emotional capabilities, their inexperience
or lack of knowledge, must not operate this charger
unsupervised or without instruction by a responsible
person. Otherwise there will be a danger of incorrect
operation and injury.
Dismantling of the charger and the battery is not per-
mitted.
It is very important that the battery terminals
do not come into contact with each other.
For this reason, the battery should never
be stored together with loose metal objects
which could damage the insulation on the
plug and/or cable and/or the protective cover/casing, or which could come into contact
with the plug contacts.
Use only the charger designed for use with the battery.
Other chargers could damage the battery.
Use a power supply having 100 V to 240 V alternating
voltage (50 or 60 Hz). Use only the appropriate cables
and plugs.
Make sure that the battery and the charger have ad-
equate cooling during the charging process.
Place the battery and the charger on a non-ammable
surface during the charging process.
At the end of the charging process, isolate the charger
plug from the battery and unplug the mains plug from
the socket.
The mains and charger plugs must be free from dirt
and oil
Do not use petrol or other highly ammable uids for
cleaning the battery and the charger.
If the battery or the charger are not to be used for an
extended period, the charging plug and the mains plug
must be disconnected.
If uid comes out of the battery or the charger, please
note the following: Avoid contact with skin and the
eyes. If uid does enter your eyes or gets on your skin,
wash thoroughly with water and consult a doctor.
The battery or charger must never be
used in the following cases.
– The battery or the charger have been immersed in
a uid.
– Water or another uid has penetrated the casing.– The battery or the charger have been dropped.– The battery or the charger have suffered a severe
impact.
– The casing is damaged.– Abnormal noises can be heard.– Smoke comes out.
Ask your dealer for a replacement.

4 General regulation of use
The Mobile Power charger must only be used for charging the Mobile Power battery packs! The instructions in
the Mobile Power battery operating handbook must be
observed.
5 Ambient conditions
Temperature range of ambient air:
in operation: 0 °C ...+45 °C (+32 °F ... +113 °F)
Transport and storage: -25 °C ... +55 °C
(-13 °F ... +131 °F)
Operation, storage and transport may only be
carries out within the ranges indicated! Use outside of this range is considered not used with
its intended purpose. The manufacturer is not
liable for damages cause by misuse.
6 Setup and transport
Before transport, disconnect the mains plug.
Make sure that the battery and the charger
cannot fall down during the charging process.
Avoid charging the battery in very dusty or
dirty environments.
Therefore, always ensure that the cooling air
openings are always uncovered!
– Do not set up the device directly by a wall.– Do not cover any cooling air openings.
The device may overheat and be damaged!
Cooling air openings are located on the
– Front side of the housing– Rear side of the housing
7 Commissioning
Connect the mains cable 3 to the charger and the
mains power (100 - 240 V ~).
A self-test is carried out when the charger is con-
nected to the mains, the Power 1 LED on the charger
starts to light up.
Connect the charger cable 6 to the battery. (See also
Mobile Power battery operating handbook)
The charging process starts within a few seconds and
this is signalled accordingly by the Power 1 LED and
Status 2 LED on the charger.

there will be a defect in the charger or the battery. Please consult the service department.
11 Maintenance and repair
Please heed the current safety regulations during all care and maintenance
work.
The machine requires a minimum of care and maintenance. Only a few items need to be checked to ensure
trouble-free long-term operation.
11.1 Check regularly
Check the following points for damage before starting
up the welding machine:
– Mains cable– Charger cable and plug
Under normal use, it is adequate to clean the charger
housing, if required, with a dry non-fraying cloth.
Make sure that the charger is isolated
from the mains and from the battery before starting to clean.
Never open up the battery yourself, or
carry out any changes to it. In this case
the guarantee would become invalid.
12 Disposal
Only for EU countries.
Do not dispose of electric tools together with
household waste material!
In observance of European Directive 2002/96/EC on
waste, electrical and electronic equipment and its implementation in accordance with national law, electric tools
that have reached the end of their service life must be
collected separately and returned to an environmentally
compatible recycling facility.
