1. USER MANUAL
1.1. Foreword
Congratulation on your purchase of LOKATERM™ stove. Please take some time and read this sheet carefully.
For stove to work properly and to have a valid warranty claim, please follow the recommendations and guidelines, gathered in this sheet.
In case you have additional questions that are not covered in this sheet please contact your local stove supplier or stove service.
Proper use and maintenance are prerequisites for stove to work long and flawlessly.
Delivery check
o First of all, check the stove for possible defects
and damages.
o Pay special attention to both stove glass and
firedoor.
o After first use of the stove, most common
defects on the glass are caused by improper handling or heat overload.
o Before installation, check the functionality of all
the movable parts. For possible defects contact your local supplier.
1.2. Safety measurements
o Warning! Heated metal parts and heated glass
can cause burns, therefore, when handling the stove always use enclosed protection gloves.
o Take special precaution when children are
around.
Fire protection safety inside radiation area
o Minimum distance from stove sides (which
have glass), to nearest combustible element (f.i. furniture elements, alcohol brewages), should be greater then 80 cm.
Fireprotection safety outside radiation area
o Do not put any combustible objects within a 50
cm distance from the open stove.
1.2.1. Suitable fuels
Stove is suitable for burning natural firewood (ex. beech, birch), wood briquettes and briquettes made of brown coal. Beech has one of the best caloric values among firewood and in addition it burns cleanly (if stored properly).
Freshly chopped firewood has to be dried, usually from 12 to 18 months, prior to use (preferably in open space, protected from rain). Moisture content, in firewood, should not exceed 20%.
Beech, birch, oak and maple burn with calm flame and create a long-lasting ember. Coniferous trees (ex. pinewood, fir) are full of pitch and smell nicely, yet they burn faster, crackle and generate sparks.
1.2.2. Emission limitation
It is forbidden to burn the following materials in stoves:
o Impregnated or moist wood, o Wood chips, o Materials of organic origins (hooves, horns
etc.),
o Coal dust o Plastic waste or household waste, o Paper and cardboard (with exception when
igniting fire)
Please note, that burning any kind of waste, is hazardous to both your health as it causes environmental pollution. It also damages your stove and thus shortens its lifespan.
1.3. Stove fires are dangerous
Dumping waste into stoves and burning it is not only a health or environmental issue, but also a fire-protection problem. In general, if stove is not handled properly (cleaning it regularly, burning appropriate materials etc.), it is prone to fires. If fires were caused by the stove, as a result of improper use, user can be held legally responsible.
1.4. Human is not a filter
A lot of flammable leftovers (ex. tampered wood, paper, composites etc.) can contain heavy metals (Cd, Pb, Zn, Cr etc.) and halogenous elements (ex. Cl,F etc.). By burning them, hazardous gasses

such as nitric oxides, hydrochloric acid, hydrocarbons and dioxins can be released and thus can pollute the surrounding.
1.5. Warnings
o Stove in not permitted to be build-in into the
wall or modified in any way(adding/removing material)
o Air supply and its regulation (air-inlet system),
must not be tampered with. Furthermore, continues air supply, for stove to work properly, must be guaranteed.
o Whenever you work with hot stove, use the
enclosed protection gloves, to prevent possible burns.
o For ignition, never use gasoline, alcohol or
similar substances.
o Don't overload the stove with firewood (max. 2-
3 pieces of wood when igniting and max. 2,6 kg/h when continuously burning).
o Always use the prescribed fuel and don't
thermally overload the stove (max. heat output). This is important for the warranty to remain valid.
o All possible damaged parts should be replaced
before first lightning of the stove.
2. STOVE DESCRIPTION
o Stove is made primarily of sheet metal and has
a closed combustion chamber.
o Stove can be placed anywhere in the room
(along the wall, in the corner etc.), as long as ground is flat and minimum distances to the wall are taken into consideration. No concession is needed for the stove installation.
o Our stove gives the comfort of having a
fireplace in your home by providing clean combustion and room heating.
2.1. Increased functionality with simplified regulation
o When stove is operating, a layer of ember is
formed in combustion chamber, which assures an even burning out of firewood. By regulating the opening of primary and secondary airinlets, one can indirectly control the heat output of the stove.
3. INITIAL IGNITION
o Empty ash-pan and combustion chamber. o First ignition of the stove should be performed
in company of authorized person (chimney sweeper).
o Start with low intensive fire. All materials must
be gradually exposed to heat to prevent potential firebrick cracks, coating damages and damages of material (bending).
o Ventilate the room thoroughly. Any scent which
may appear, when protection coating is being hardened, will eventually diminish (when sufficient temperature in stove is reached).

3.1. Ignition procedure
o Open both primary and secondary air-inlet
regulators (see picture bellow)
o Fully open flue by-pass device (if present). o Open the firedoor. o After you have put in several ignition material
(thin wood, ignition cubes, scrambled paper…) into combustion chamber, insert 2-3 pieces of firewood (chopped) on top of it. Please fill stove with care to avoid potential damage.
o Ignite the ignition material and close the
firedoor.
o After stove heats up (it usually takes up from 5
to10 minutes), close primary regulator.
o Heat output is regulated by opening or closing
secondary regulator.
o Nominal heat output (8 kW), is generated
when:
o primary regulator is set to fully closed o secondary regulator is set to fully open o there is an aprox. 2,6 kg of firewood inside
of stove
o draught is at 10 Pa.
o Some of the air, which is heated up inside of
stove, is guided through the channels inside the stove, onto the firedoor glass, where it performs a cleaning (of the glass) (air brush cleaning principle).
Attention: Certain types of stoves require somewhat longer ignition phase, until there is enough negative pressure (draught) for the stove to work on its own. When this is the case, use smaller, dried-up logs. Afterwards you can use bigger logs. If firedoor is open during ignition phase, strong draught can cause fire to blaze up. High flames start to pound the firedoor glass, thus soothing it or even damaging it.
3.2. Heating
o Maximum capacity of the stove is 2,6 kg of
firewood per hour.
o Leave the fresh air connection flap (if present)
open.
o Fire intensity regulate with secondary air-inlet
regulator.
o For flue gases to be able to pass by, flue
damper should never be fully closed.
o Also, by closing the flue damper, you could
cause bigger negative pressure inside the stove, which might damage the stove (overheating).
3.3. Loading firewood
OPENED CLOSED
CLOSED OPENED
PRIMARNI REGULATOR
o Fully open flue-damper (is present). o When opening firedoor, always use the
enclosed protection gloves.
o Open door slowly. o Remember that maximum capacity is 2,6 kg of
firewood per hour.
o Close the firedoor. o Close the flue-damper (if present) to its
operating position.
o Always keep the fire under control, to prevent
possible fire accidents. Pay special attention if children are around.
4. CLEANING THE STOVE
4.1. Warnings
o Never use water for fire extinction. o Cleaning should only be performed when stove
is fully cooled down. Remember - embers could remain in ashes, hours after the fire has been extinguished.
o When cleaning, always wear protection gloves. o Open firedoor o Remove debris from combustion chamber. o Glass should be cleaned with special cleaning
agent. (contact your local stove-supplier, regarding cleaning agents that can be used for cleaning up stove).
o If stove is being used properly, stove glass
should remain clean (There is always a possibility that not all of conditions, for stove to work properly, were met (some of the firewood might be wet, chimney conditions not perfect etc.), therefore glass might still soot up.

5. BREAKDOWNS AND CAUSES
What happens,... … when there isn't enough fresh air intake?
o Is flue-damper closed (if present)? o Is fresh air-inlet flap closed? o Are air-combustion regulators closed? o Is your ventilation hood on?
... when fire extinguish itself, or lights up poorly?
o Is flue-damper closed (if present)? o Is fresh air-inlet flap closed? o Are air-combustion regulators closed? o Is fresh air supply sufficient? o Is firewood wet? o Did you use chopped firewood?
… if room is not heated enough?
o Are air-combustion regulators closed?
… if stove is overheated?
o Is primary air-combustion regulator fully
opened?
... when glass quickly becomes too sooty?
o Firewood were too wet o Flue-damper wasn't opened enough o Fresh air-intake wasn't sufficient enough.
Note
o Take into consideration, that ventilation hood,
which operates in same or nearby room, creates negative pressure, which can cause smoke to leak into the room instead through chimney.
o Ventilation hood also deprives stove of fresh
air, therefore, take care that stove has enough fresh air to operate normally. .
5.1. Warnings
o Only qualified and trained personnel are
allowed to perform repairs on the stove. By reading this manual one does not become such an expert. If problems, similar to those mentioned above, arise, please contact your local stove-service or chimney-sweeper.
