Protective
Enclosure
(part# 200-00020)
User Instructions
Introduction
The LogTag® Protective Enclosure is specifically designed for LogTag®
recorder products to allow use in harsh environments.
The design of the enclosure minimises the effects of thermal lag caused
by the additional casing. In general, the enclosure adds about 70% to
the reaction time to temperature change for a given environment.
Specifications
Environment : Rated to IP67 (1 meter (3ft) immersion for 30 minutes
in fresh water) equivalent to NEMA6 for temperatures 1~40°C
Operating Temperature Range : -40°C ~ +85°C
Chemical resistance : In general the polycarbonate material can
withstand alcohols and diluted acids well. Problems can occur with
hydrocarbons, phenols, esters, ketones and alkalis especially at elevated
temperatures.

recorder fitting over the location peg feature inside the enclosure.
Closing case

Seal maintenance
The enclosure employs a custom molded high performance silicon seal
that sits in a slot in the bottom half of the enclosure.
For optimum performance and to maintain rated resistance to liquid
ingress this seal must be kept clean of dirt and debris.
Immersion applications
The enclosure is rated ex factory to IP67 however after many times of
use it may no longer meet this rating due to issues such as dirt/debris
on seal.
For applications where immersion is likely it is advised that
to seal maintenance that a periodic immersion test is performed to
verify protective enclosure integrity.
