Buttons...
By default, the mouse buttons are assigned various useful
functions, such as Click/Select, AutoScroll, Context Menu/Alternate
Select, Double-Click, etc. Using the Buttons tab of the Mouse
Pr opert ies, you can change t he button settings of your mouse and
configure the mouse wheel. (Refe r to the figure to the right.)

easy- to-use short-cuts to speed up common tas ks , s u ch
as cut and past e.

Double-Click, DragLock , etc., to a single button click. To override a button assignment te m pora rily so you can use
an application-specific feature, press the Control key while clicking the button to be overridden.

Cordless Wheel Mouse Maintenance
If the cursor skips or moves abnormally, clean the ball of your cor dless
wheel mouse.
1.
R e m o ve t he retainer ring. On the bottom of the cordless wheel
mouse, twist the retainer ring counter clockwise to remove it.
2. Re m o ve t he ball and wipe it with a clean, lint-free cloth,
t hen blow carefully into the ball-cage to dislodge dust and
lint. Look for a build-up of dirt on the rubber ro ller(s) inside the ballcage .
3. If d irty, clean the roller(s) using a cotton swab moistened
lightly with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Aft er cleaning, make
sure the r oller(s) are still centered in their channels. Mak e s ure t hat
fluff fro m t he swab is not left on the roller(s).
4. Replace the ball and retainer ring.
Tr oubleshooting
The Cordless Wheel Mouse Does Not Work aft er I n stallation
¥ Make s ure you have connected t he r eceiver corr ectly. The receiver cable
goes into t he c o m puter s PS/2 mouse port o r se rial p ort . F or optimal
perf ormance, place the r eceive r a t
centimeters a w ay f r om other electrical devices, such a s the
computer, the computer monitor, or external stora g es drives.
¥ Make sure you have installed the batt eries correctly.
¥Establish communication betw een the receiv er and the cordless wheel
mouse. Press the Connect button on th e receiver, then press the Channel
t button under the cor dless wheel mouse.
¥If you are working on a metallic surface, try using a mouse pad and turning
the r eceiver on its side for bett er reception.
The Cordless Wheel Mouse Is Not Detected
¥ Ma ke su re t he receiver cable is plugged int o the PS/2 mouse port o r ser ia l por t. Do not plug or unplug
th e receiver cable while the computer i s r unning.
¥ Make sure t he PS/2 mouse port has t he proper configuration. Refer to y our computer documentation for the
corr ect port configuration.
¥ You may have other syste m devices that conflict with t he cor dless wheel mouse. Check the IRQ/address
settings of these devices for conflicts, and change t he settings as requ ired. Ref er to your comput er
documentation to make these changes.
¥ To det er mine whether the problem is cor dless wheel mouse or system related, try the cordless wheel mouse
on a second syst em or a diff erent mouse on your curr ent syst em.
The Wheel Mouse Does Not Wo r k a fter Changing the Batter ie s
Check to make su re the batt eries you have i ns talled are not dead. T ry the batteries in another device. You may
also need to re-est ablish the connection between the cordless wheel mouse and its receiver . To do this, press the
Connect button on the receiver , then press the Channel butto n on the bottom of the mouse.
The Screen Cursor Does Not Move Pr operly on the Scree n
Clean the mouse ball and roller(s). Try changing the position of the receiver. It is possible that the receiver may
be too far from the cordless wheel mouse. Or the computer monito r (or a large metal object) may be interf ering
with the receive rs radio reception. Also, t he mouse batteries may b e nearly dead. Check the mouse batteries as
described above . Y ou may also need to r e-establish the connection between the cordless wheel mouse and its
receiv er. T o do this, press the Connect button on t he r eceiver, then press the Channel button on t he bottom of
the mouse.
