Installing the Batteries

1. Re m o ve t he battery compartment co v er .

Battery Warning!

When batte ry p owe r is low , a dialog box displays (except in Windows 3.1) telling you to change t he batteries. You can also che ck battery pow er in the Cordless page of the Mouse Propert ies. (Refer to the User s Guide.)

Exercise care when handling batteries. Do not open a battery or mutilat e, dispose of in a fire, expose t o heat, immers e i n w a te r , install improperly, or recharge. Conducting materials, such as rings, bracelets, and keys, can short out a battery causing it to overheat and possibly leak or explode. Discard all used batteries according to the battery manufacturers instructions. When you are not using your cordless device for long periods of time, remove the batteries and st ore them in a dry place at normal room t em per ature .

Connect the Radio Receiver

1. Ma ke sure t he computer i s tu rned off. Caution: Plugging or un plugging cables to t he c o m puter s PS/2 port while the c omputer is r unning can damage the computer.

2 . Connect the r eceiver s cable to the c om p uter s PS/2 mouse port or t o the computer s s er ial port.

For PCs without a CD-ROM Driv e

If your PC does not have a CD-ROM drive , you can still install the MouseWar e¤ software by making a disk copy. Find a P C that has a CD-ROM drive. Then fo llow these simple instructions:

1. S tart Window s¤, then insert the so ftware CD in to t he CD-ROM dri v e .

2 . Choose the Make Floppies option on the fi rst screen.

3. For Window s inst ructions.

4. For Window s Dialog Box . In the Command Line t ext box, type D:\FlopMkr. ex e drive), then c lick OK. Foll ow the on-screen instructions.

1. S tart Window s, then insert the so ftware CD in to the CD-ROM dri v e . The MouseWar e Setup should launch automatically. If Autorun is not enabled on your system, you must select Start from the Wind ow s Taskbar, then Run. Next, type D:\Setup.ex e.

2. For Window s For Window s 3.1, open the File menu, t hen choose the Run command. Windo ws displays the Run Dialog Box. In the Command Line t ext box, type D:\SETUP (where D: is the designation of your CD-R OM drive ), then click OK. The Installation Dialog Box is displayed. Foll ow the on-screen instructions.
