2.0 Introduction
2.1 Overview
LogiLink AD0005B is a converter for Serial ATA and IDE interfaces. Connect it
to an IDE hard drive or an ATAPI drive so as to turn into a Serial ATA one,
and meet the specification of Serial ATA 1.0 interface.

3.0 Installation
Before installing AD0005B, please complete the installation of Serial ATA host
adapter. Please ensure the host adapter can work properly and then follow the
instructions below.
Step 1. Connect AD0005B and the Serial ATA interface card with a Serial ATA cable.
Step 2. Connect the two female connectors of the Y-splitter power cable to AD0005B
and IDE hard drive respectively (as shown in the picture), and the male
connector to power supply.
Step 3. Connect the IDE connector on the back of AD0005B to the cable connector
of IDE hard drive.

4.0 Troubleshooting
Please inspect the following items if your AD0005B cannot work normally after
installation.
1. Inspect if all connectors of Serial ATA cable and power cord are firmly connected.
2. Inspect if the Serial ATA interface card is correctly inserted to the PCI slot on the
motherboard.
3. Inspect if the Serial ATA card’s driver is successfully installed.
Notes:
A general Serial ATA controller that has RAID function cannot support CD/DVD
drive.
The CE mark confirmed that this product meets the main requirements of
the Directive 2004/108/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of
Europe concerning telecommunications and terminals regarding the
Safety and health of users and of electro-magnetic interference

3.0 Installation
Sollten Sie eine SATA Schnittstellenkarte eingebaut haben, stellen Sie sicher dass
diese ordnungsgemäß installiert ist, bevor Sie den AD0005B Adapter installieren. Im
Anschluss beachten Sie bitte die nachfolgenden Instruktionen:
Schritt 1: Schalten Sie Ihren Computer aus und ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus der
Steckdose.
Schritt 2: Verbinden Sie den AD0005B Adapter , mithilfe des beiliegenden SATA
Kabels, mit Ihrem SATA Controller oder Ihrer SATA Schnittstellenkarte.
Schritt 3: Verbinden Sie den 3,5“ Netzstecker mit dem AD0005B Adapter und den
5,25“ Stecker mit der Stromversorgung Ihres Computers.
Schritt 4: Verbinden Sie den IDE Anschluss des AD0005B Adapters mit der IDE

4.0 Problembehebung
Bitte überprüfen Sie die folgenden Punkte, wenn der Adapter AD0005B nach der
Installation nicht ordnungsgemäß funktionieren sollte:
1. Überprüfen Sie die Steckverbindungen (IDE, SATA, Strom)
2. Falls Sie eine SATA Schnittstellenkarte nutzen, stellen Sie sicher, das diese
korrekt im PCI Slot Ihres Mainboards steckt.
3. Stellen Sie in diesem Fall auch sicher, dass der SATA Treiber für die
Schnittstellenkarte fehlerfrei installiert ist.
Hinweis:
Ein SATA – RAID - Controller kann kein ATAPI CD/DVD Laufwerk unterstützen.
