Thank you for purchasing this MANHATTAN® USB to Serial Converter,
Models 205146, 205153 and174947 (2-port).
Modern computers are often not equipped with RS232 ports, making
the use of legacy peripherals and communication devices more difcult.
The Manhattan USB to Serial Converter, with its serial RS232 port(s),
easily expands a single USB 1.1 port to connect and support serial
modems, barcode scanners, digital cameras, card readers and other
devices.

NOTE: The images in this manual represent Windows 7. The
procedures and screen shots for other Windows operating systems are
similar. Some screen images have been modied to t the format of this
manual.

INSTALLATION
As noted on Page 2, the following Installation procedure is for Win7.
The steps for other operating systems are similar.
1. Before plugging the converter in to the computer, load the included
driver CD and double-click “PL-2303 Driver Installer Program” to
display the Welcome screen of the InstallShield Wizard. Click Next.
2. The Setup Status screen will display to indicate the progress of the
installation. When the InstallShield Wizard Complete screen (below)
displays, click Finish. Note: If you inadvertently connected the
converter to the PC while running the driver installation, unplug it
and re-connect so the system can detect it.
