MIDAS XLR CONFIGURATIONS
Recent MIDAS audio consoles have used several different XLR task light connector orientations requiring minor modifications to Littlite task lights in order to position the gooseneck light optimally.
MIDAS PRO1.
The PRO1 4-Pin panel socket is rotated 90° to the right and is located just under the top panel overhang. The overhang prevents our right-angle XLR lights from snapping into the panel socket. A standard Littlite XR-4 series can be used (we recommend the 18XR-4-LED). The gooseneck can then be positioned over the work surface.
MIDAS PRO2.
The MIDAS PRO2 has two 4-Pin XLR task light connectors on the back panel. These connectors are also located just under the top panel overhang that prevents a standard Littlite XR series gooseneck from snapping in place.
The Littlite LLX XLR connector is designed to enable the pin insert to be rotated to accommodate different panel socket orientations. (See below for instructions).
The following models Littlites are pre-modified for the PRO2 console.
LED 18XR-4-LED-MR – Right Side Light (Operator’s Right) 18XR-4-LED-ML – Left Side Light (Operator’s Left) PRO2-LED Set - One MR and One ML.
Halogen 18XR-HI-4-MR – Right Side Light (Operator’s Right) 18XR-HI-4-ML – Left Side Light (Operator’s Left) PRO2-HI Set - One MR and one ML.
MIDAS PRO2C
The MIDAS PRO2C uses one 4-PIN XLR task light connector on the back panel. Like the PRO2 it requires a modified Littlite in order to snap into the panel socket. Our Littlite 18XR-HI-4 MR and 18XR-LED-4-MR are pre-configured to work with the PRO2C. Standard XR-4 Littlites with our LLX XLR connector can be modified to work with the PRO2C (see below).
MIDAS M32
The task light connector on the rear panel of the Midas M-32 digital console is rotated 180 degrees from the standard orientation. A regular four-pin, right angle Littlite requires a simple modification in order to work correctly with this console.
Our LLX XLR connector enables the pin insert to be rotated allowing the gooseneck to bend and clear the top lip. The following instructions detail how to reorient the pin inserts.
Our 18XR-LED-M32 is preconfigured for the M-32 and standard XR-4 series lights with our LLX XLR connector can be modified to work with the M-32.
Changing Pin orientation on Littlite LLX XLR connector.
Our standard 4-pin XLR configuration positions the gooseneck at the top of the arc created by the four pins. (Figure 1)

Remove the small set screw on the outside of the LLX barrel (Figure 2) and pull out the pin insert. Be careful not to break the wires or lose the small hex nut inserted in the pin insert disk.

Turn the pin insert 180 degrees and reinstall the set screw. Be careful not to pinch the wires.

There will still be enough space between the gooseneck and the release tab on the XLR panel socket to disengage the light for transport.
