4. Warning signs attached to the machine
Before starting operation, the personnel must have
read the operating and safety instructions and must
observe them.
Before commencing maintenance and repair work,
switch off the engine and pull the key.
With the drive switched on and the tractor motor
running, maintain sufficient distance to rotating tools.
With the motor running, there is a risk of parts being
hurled away – maintain safety distance.
Machine parts should only touched after they have
come to a complete halt.

6. Accident prevention
Most accidents that occur during work, maintenance or transport of a
machine are due to non-observance of the most elementary rules of
accident prevention.
It is, therefore, necessary that all licensed users (relatives,
employees, colleagues) read and observe the rules given below and
written on the adhesive labels of the machine itself:
• Work only with eye and ear protection (we recommend a
complete helmet combination ) and safety shoes!
• Turn off the engine of the engine-driven machine before carrying
out any adjustments, maintenance or cleaning on the machine!
• Prior to any work on the machine, it should be placed on level
ground! When working on the lifted unit, always ensure
mechanical protection by means of adequate supporting
elements!
• In order to achieve the highest possible performance of the
LLIIPPCCOO SSttuummpp CCuutttteer
r
, it must always be in perfect condition.
Maintenance and repairs must be carried out by trained persons
only! Spare parts must at least comply with the technical
requirements specified by the manufacturer! This is only
guaranteed for LLIIPPCCOO oorriiggiinnaall ssppaarree ppaarrttss
!
• Before each use, screws and nuts must be checked to ensure
they are firmly tightened, especially those of the tools and the
drive!!
• Before starting up, please make sure that no people or animals
are in the vicinity.
• Take special care when working alongside roads or pathways.
• During service or repair work, make sure that no one can start up
the machine accidentally!
• Do not, for any reason, climb onto the machine during operation.

150130-04-EN BA SFB 50 / 22.03.2019
• Do not act with any objects on the machine during operation!
• Never work without machine protection hood and plastic apron!
7. Design Features
The LLIIPPCCOO SSttuummpp CCuutttteerr
is capable of removing tree stumps..
The characteristic feature of the LLIIPPCCOO SSttuummpp CCuutttteerr
is that it can be
universally connected to all excavators having sufficient hydraulic
power. It is connected to excavators via a mounting disc (Fig. 2) on
the quick-change plate of the excavator. The LLIIPPCCOO SSttuummpp CCuutttteerr
makes it possible to achieve optimum working results even when
only limited space is available.
As shown in Fig. 1, the cutting disc of the
LLIIPPCCOO SSttuummpp CCuutttteerr
is equipped with
replaceable cutting blades (with solderedon hard-metal plates).
Depending on the drive power of the engine-driven machine and on
the particular case, the cutting discs can be equipped with different
numbers of cutting blades.

9. Preparation
• Check lubricant in bearing housing (see chapter "10.
Maintenance")
• Check whether all safety devices are in place and all screws
have been tightened. Especially the cutting blade screws and the
screwed joints of the hydraulic lines must be checked.
10. Connection to the excavator
• Screw the Stump Cutter on to the quick-change plate of the
excavator by means of the mounting plate and the 4 M12 screws
(see Fig. 2).
• The hydraulic lines must be manufactured in accordance with the
corresponding lines of the base unit. The connection to the
excavator is made via quick couplings.
(Fig. 3)

• Attention:
The leak oil line must be conducted to the hydraulic oil tank free
of pressure. Under no circumstances must the leak oil line of the
hydraulic motor be subjected to pressure.
Incorrect pressurization will destroy the seals in the hydraulic
motor and cause oil to leak out.
• Please observe the labeling of the connections – Pressure line
(P) and return line (T).
• The return line must be sufficiently wide, i.e. its nominal width
must be larger than the pressure line!
• Attention:
When the hydraulic system is closed, the hydraulic oil tank
is under pressure.

11. Working with the LIPCO Stump Cutter
Move the Stump Cutter to the tree stump to be cut. Position the unit
such that the cutter disc is located centrally above the tree stump.
Do not switch on cutting disc while under load. This is why the Stump
Cutter must be lifted to such an extent that it does not rest on the
tree stump when the cutting disc is switched on.
When full speed is reached, lower the stump cutter carefully until the
disc cuts into the wood. Now pivot the stump cutter to the right and to
the left over the tree stump, lower the cutter and repeat the cutting
process until the desired working depth is reached.
• Attention!
Any adjusting work must be carried out with the excavator
engine switched off! In case of vibrations, immediately stop
working and inspect the cutting blades. Due to the high
speed, an imbalance might be caused by missing or
seriously damaged cutting blades.
• Only work with the personal protection equipment! (Eye and ear
protection and safety shoes)
• Attention!
When working in hillside position, the relevant safety
regulations of the traction vehicle manufacturer must be
observed!
• Especially the maximum allowable hillside inclination when
the Stump Cutter is attached to the traction vehicle and the
direction of working must be observed. The tree stump may
only be cut uphill or downhill, never sideways!

150130-04-EN BA SFB 50 / 22.03.2019
• Attention!
When working with or on the Stump Cutter, provide good
lighting!
• Apart from the operator of the Stump Cutter, no other
person is allowed to stay in the danger area/working area or
pivoting area of the excavator.
In general, children must be excluded from working with or
on the Stump Cutter.

150130-04-EN BA SFB 50 / 22.03.2019
12. Maintenance
Steps to be carried out in order to maintain the machine in good
working condition:
• The bearing housing of the Stump Cutter is filled with liquid gear
grease and is usually maintenance-free. In case of grease
leaking out or after external force being applied to it, a check
must be carried out.
The filler neck is at the underside of the housing. To check it, the
unit must be tilted by 90 degrees, filling level to lower edge of the
charging hole.
Lubricant to be used:
Liquid gear grease based on sodium bicarbonate, type GP00
Filling amount: 0.2 kg
• Check the plastic apron and replace it, if necessary!
• Check whether all screws, especially those of the cutting blades,
are firmly tightened. Replace damaged screws immediately.
(See chapter "11. Replacement of the cutting blades").
• Attention! Only use original screws.

150130-04-EN BA SFB 50 / 22.03.2019
13. Replacement if the cutting blades
When replacing the cutting blades, make sure that the machine is
secured against unintentional lowering. When working with the unit
lifted, always ensure mechanical protection by means of adequate
supporting elements!
When a cutting blade gets broken, immediately stop work and
replace the damaged parts.
Depending on the drive power of the engine-driven machine and on
the particular case, the cutting disc can be equipped with different
numbers of cutting blades.

14. After use
If the LLIIPPCCOO SSttuummpp CCuutttteerr
is to remain unused for a longer period, it
is necessary to carry out the following steps:
• Thoroughly wash and dry the LLIIPPCCOO SSttuummpp CCuutttteerr
!
• Check the function of all movable parts and lubricate them!
Replace damaged or worn parts!
• Check hydraulic lines for damage and, if necessary, replace
them. Observe the legal regulations when exchanging them.
• Check the screws and retighten them, if necessary!
• Check liquid grease in bearing housing!
• Grease all unpainted metal parts to protect them against
corrosion, cover the LLIIPPCCOO SSttuummpp CCuutttteerr
and store it in a dry
place so that it will be ready for use any time.
• Attention!
Before using the unit again, follow the instructions in
chapter "12. Maintenance".
