The operation of machines containing rotating or moving tools
always bears risks. Please always
foll ow the safety regulations:
• Before starting operation, the personnel must have read the
operating and safety instructions and observe them.
• Never remove or alter the safety devices!
• Do not touch rotating or moving parts!
• Never lie down beneath the unit for repair or control purposes
when the unit has not been carefully secured beforehand!
• For maintenance work switch off the device!
• Do not exceed the prescribed speed (540 rpm) when operating
the unit!
• Keep to the safety distance! (Attach danger sign on the side of
the machine)
•Attention!
Do not enter the working area when the universal joint shaft
is rotating! In case of contact there is an increased risk of
accidents. For your own safety, do not wear wide or loose
clothes (e.g. scarves)!
• Any work, maintenance and repair on theLLIIPPCCOOPPaatthhwwaayy
GGrraaddeerrRRWWD
D must be carried out only by persons who are
familiar with the unit and have been informed about possible
risks!
• The relevant accident prevention regulations as well as the other
generally recognised maintenance, safety, industrial medicine
and road traffic rules and instructions must be observed.
Most accidents that occur during work, maintenance or transport of a
machine are due to non-observance of the most elementary rules of
accident prevention.
It is, therefore, necessary that all
licensed users (relatives,
employees, colleagues) read and observe the rules given below and
written on the adhesive labels of the machine itself:
• In order to achieve the highest possible performance of the
LLIIPPCCOOPPaatthhwwaayyGGrraaddeerrRRWWD
D, it must always be in perfect
condition. Maintenance or repairs must be carried out by trained
persons only. Spare parts must at least comply with the technical
requirements specified by the manufacturer! This is only
guaranteed forLLIIPPCCOOoorriiggiinnaallssppaarreeppaarrttss!
• Turn off the universal joint shaft and the engine of the tractor
before carrying out any adjustments, maintenance or cleaning!
• Do not, for any reason, climb onto the machine during operati on!
• Before each use, the suspension bolts of the three-point
suspension and the nuts and screws, especially those of the
tools, must be checked to ensure they are firmly tightened!!
• Take special caution when working alongside roads or pathways!
• Switch off the engine and pull the ignition key when carrying out
maintenance and repair work!
• Do not transport any persons or objects on the machine during
work or transport on the road!
• Only work with completely protected drive, i.e. joint shaft with
complete shaft protection and supplementary protection on
tractor and unit. Make sure the joint shaft connections engage
safely!
• Never use the machine without the roller, levelling plate and side
panes, since these provide protection to the machine against
rotating tools!
• When carrying out work on the machine, it should be placed on
level ground or on a stable support! When working with the unit
lifted, always secure the unit mechanically by means of adequate
supporting elemen ts !
TheLLIIPPCCOOPPaatthhwwaayyGGrraaddeerr, when connected to a (small) tractor, is
capable of loosening, levelling and ramming the area to be treated in
a single operation.
As shown in Fig. 1, theLLIIPPCCOOPPaatthhwwaayyGGrraaddeerr is equipped at the
front with a roller, which serves for the precise depth adjustment of
the unit. This front roller allows the levelness or the desired
transverse slope to be adjusted precisely.
The rotating gear bar loosens the entire area of the uneven surface.
Special tools allow the machine to be used on hard ground. The
working depth of the gear bar is adjusted by the rear roller. The small
spindle pitch of the adjusting spindle allows the working depth to be
adjusted to the nearest millimeter.
A levelling plate, which levels the already loosened ground, is
arranged behind the gear bar. The round shape of this levelling plate
simulta neously serves for pressing the loosened soil.
Each group can be adjusted separately via adjusting spindles.
TheLLIIPPCCOOPPaatthhwwaayyGGrraaddeerr is suitable in particular for regenerating
and maintaining pathways. The continuously variable depth
adjustment completely loosens even the hardest of pathways.

Attention:
As for the trailer loads and semi-trailer loads, the regulations and
instructi ons by the traction vehicle manufacturer must be adhered to.
Remarks about noise and vibration:
It is not expected, that the values for noise and vibration of these
attachment unit will exceed the values of the engine-driven machine.
7. Preparation for using the LIPCO Pathway Grader RWD
• Before using the unit, check whether all accident protection
devices on tractor, machine and joint shaft are attached correctly
and are in functioning order. Before operating the unit, it is
imperative to replace or install damaged or missing components!
•Attention!
Use only universal joint shaft with overload protection
device (standard delivery includes shear pin coupling 1600
Nm) or sliding clutch!
• Check oil level (see chapter “11. Maintenance”)
• Make sure that all screws are tightened and all elements are in
• Before starting the machine and the tractor, check road and
operating safety!
• Persons must never be allowed to stand between the tractor and
the attachment unit without having secured the vehicle against
rolling away by means of the locking brake and / or wheel
chocks!
• Nev er stay in the rotating and pivoting area of the unit!
• Before attaching and removing the Pathway Grader to the three-
point suspension, place the operating device in the position in
which unintentional lifting and lowering is excluded!
• When transporting the unit on roads, sufficient lateral arresting of
the tractor three-point suspension has to be ensured, in order to
avoid lateral swing-out of the machine!
• The compression l ink should be adjusted such that the m achine
runs freely on the front and rear rollers.
• Only use universal joint shafts in perfect condition and with
overload protection!
• When the unit has been coupled to the tractor, check the exact
length of the universal joint shaft.
•Very important
:
Highest possible overlapping has to be aimed at. During
operation, the maximum extension of the joint shaft should be
half the sliding profile overlapping (Fig. 2). When connecting to
different tractors, the length has to be checked again!
Fig. 2
• Press sliding pin and push the joint shaft
onto the power takeoff shaft until the
sliding pin engages! (Fig. 3)
Fig. 3
• This tractor symbol indicates the tractor
side of the joint shaft. Always attach the
overload protection on machine side!
• Attach the holding chain of the joint
shaft in order to avoid a rotation of the
joint shaft protection.
• Attach the holding chain so that a sufficient pivoting area of the
universal joint shaft is guaranteed in all operating positions.
Never use the holding chain to suspend the universal joint shaft!
• For your own safety, replace the safety devices if they are
damaged or worn. When the machine is not in use, the universal
joint shaft can be hung in the bracket provided for protection!
• Make sure that when you mount the universal joint shaft on the
machine, the unit protective cover overlaps the joint shaft
protection in all operating positions!
• Lubricat e the univ ersal joint shaft before start-up and every 8
operating hours with proprietary grease and check the smooth
running of the sliding profiles. In winter, the protective tubes have
to be greased in order to avoid freezing (see lubrication plan Fig.
4).

Attention!
Only use joint shaft types prescribed
by the manufacturer!
(Standard delivery includes shear pin
coupling Fig. 5)
The working depth of the individual components is regulated by
rotating the particular roller spindles (see Fig. 6). The scales on the
spindles allow an exact adjustment. It is possible to vary the working
depth from 0 to 5 cm. It i s important for the machine to rest on both
rollers while working .

Levelling
The levelling is done by means of the levelling plate, which,
depending on the working depth chosen, can be adjusted by hand on
the spindle. For proper levelling, make sure that there is always
some terrain in front of the blade while working. If necessary,
readjust.
Steps to be carried out in order to maintain the machine in good
working condition:
• Check the correct connection of the universal joint shaft and the
safety devices.

Fig. 10
Oil plug
• Grease the roller bearings (Fig. 8).
• Check the level of liquid grease in
the gearbox via the corresponding
plug (Fig. 9). This operation must
be carried out when the machine
has already been running for a few
minutes and the grease has
warmed up and become distributed
evenly. With the machine switched
off, check the grease level using a
dipstick (the grease level should be
2 cm above the cogwheels). If
necessary, top up liquid gear
grease (based on sodium
bicarbonate - type GP 00).
• For the angular gear, the oil level is
read on the check screw. (Fig. 10)
Oil level up to check screw level.
(In the angular gear, use gear oil
GX 85-90A) The first oil change
should be done after 30-50
operating hours, and then every
200 operating hours, but at least
once a year.
When replacing the tools, make sure that the machine is secured
agains t unintentional tilting! When working with the unit lifted, always
secure the unit mechanically by means of adequate supporting
elements!
To change the tools, remove the safety ring using pliers and pull out
the worn-out tool. Then insert the new tool and fasten it with the
safety ring. Always make sure that the safety ring engages in the
relief groove of the tool!
When attaching new tool carriers, make sure that the lock nuts
engage firmly in the recesses, preventing them from turning as well
and getting damaged during loosening or tightening. Tighten screws
firmly! We recommend always replacing screws and lock nuts as
well, when replacing the tool carriers.
Note: Use only original screws with fine-pitch thread!
