ongratulations on your purchase of the Lionel ‘Best Friend of Charleston’ locomotive set.

Your locomotive is ready to run on Lionel or Lionel-compatible O-27 or larger track.

Carefully unwrap the locomotive, tender, and passenger car.

Plug in the harness from the locomotive into the bottom of the tender.

Note: The harness must be plugged into the connector on the bottom of the tender
in order for the locomotive to operate.

Connect the draw bar of the locomotive to the tender with the coupler pin. Connect the
drawbar from the tender to the passenger car. These can be semi-permanently coupled by
putting a slight bend in the coupler pin.

Place on your AC powered layout, (either conventional or command control)

Do not power with DC (direct current) or damage may occur.
