Heating or c ooling the Stage

Profiles and Ramps
On t he LinkP ad 'Ramp ' refer s to an ind ividu al group of set tin gs (ra te , l imit , h old tim e, etc .) th at ma ke up o ne st ep in an ex peri ment , a nd a profil e is a comb ina tio n of ra mps tha t ma kes up a c ompl ete e xpe rim ent.
For exa mple a p rofile c ould con sis t of 3 ra mps , wi th the firs t bei ng s et to inc rea se from am bie nt temp era ture to 10 0°C at 5 0°C/min , t he se cond to hea t from 1 00 to 15 0 a t 10° C/min and th e third to he at from 150 to 16 0 at 1° C/min and hol d at 16 0 for 10 mi nute s. Creating a profile
A profi le is c rea ted by ent erin g va lue s into mul tip le ra mps a nd s et ting a st art ra mp and a n e nd ram p.
To s ele ct a ra mp to edit , t ap on ei ther th e r amp up cont rol (11) or t he ram p d own c ontro l (1 2). Onc e the des ire d ramp i s se lec ted, it s prope rti es ca n be edi ted by ta ppin g on the bl ue 'Ramp' dis pla y - the foll owing opti ons di al ogue wil l a ppe ar:

The cycl e m ode cont rol (7) wi ll toggle r amp cyc ling on and off. The ramp s ta tus (10) wil l c han ge t o s how whic h r amp is i n progres s a nd t he powe r i ndic ato r (17 ) wil l sho w a re d bar whi ch ris es a nd fa ll s with the amo unt of po wer fed to t he st age. If se lec ted the c urren t a nd volt age wil l al so be dis pl aye d. This is s hown on the L inkPa d by t he compu ter cont rol ic on (15 ) il lum ina ting. In orde r t o re -ena ble full L inkPa d cont rol si mply dis conn ect the c omput er softwa re con trol (in LINK, s el ect Cont roll er -> Dis conne ct, a nd to recon nect c ompute r c ontro l in LINK , s el ect Con trol ler -> Connect)
