The DVI-D Extender can be used to extend DVI-D (digital single link)
signals over large distances. Two Extenders can be daisy chained
together, and when using 15m LINDY SLD (Super Long Distance) DVI
cables in between each extender, a ma ximum transmission distance of
45m @ 800 x 600 display resolution is supported!
Please Note: To ens ure best results the DVI Extender must be used with
LINDY SLD cables!

Using the DVI E xtender
Note on extending DVI signals: LINDY SLD cables support ma ximum
resolutions and dis tances as detailed below –
15m @ 1600 x 1200 orHDT V 1080i
20m @ 1280 x 1024
25m @ 1024 x 768
Therefore, at these res olutions/distances you can us e a single DVI SLD
connection cable between t he graphics c ard and the monitor, without the n eed
for the DVI Extender.
For greater distances you should use DVI SLD connection c ables in
conjunction with the DVI Extender . Two Extenders can be used wi th 3 SLD
cables. The followi ng examples show the ma ximum resolutions and lengths:
40m @ 1280 x 1024: 20m SL D Ext Cable + Extender + 20m SLD Cable
45m @ 800 x 600: 15m SLD Ext Cable + Extender + 15m SLD Ext Cable +
Extender + 15m SLD Cable
45m @ 1024 x 768: 15m SLD Ext Cable + Extender + 15m SLD Ext Cable +
Extender + 15m SLD Cable*
60m @ 800 x 600: 20m SLD Ext Cable + Extender + 20m SLD Ext Cable +
Extender + 20m SLD Cable*

Note
: These lengths & res olutions are above the m aximum recomm ended for
optimum performanc e. Depending on your graphi cs card and monitor there
may be some sli ght pixel noise!
Troubleshooting
No other DVI devices shoul d be used in between the graphics car d and the
DVI extender. DVI spli tters, switches or similar units may reduce the ma ximum
allowed distance per segment!
The lengths and resol utions as detai led above are from tests conducted wi th
quality equipment suc h as ATI and Nvidia graphi cs cards. For lower
specification DVI equipm ent the possible m aximum cable length vs. resolution
may be reduced.
If an installation does not transmit a pic ture check the installation segment by
segment to ensure each c able/extender is c onnected correctly.
If problems still per sist try reducing the displ ay resolution to 800 x 60 0. If the
signal is then transm itted correctly from every segment it is a cl ear sign that
the quality of the DV I signal generated from your graphics sourc e is not
sufficient. If this is the case then try a shorter 10m DVI SLD M/F extension
cable between the DVI s ignal source and the input t o the first DVI Extender,
and then increase the res olution again to the required level. Or you c ould try to
use a better quality DV I signal source (graphi cs card).

DVI-D Extender
wird zur Überbrückung größerer DVI-D (Digital Single
Link) Distanzen eingesetzt.
Bis zu 3 mit jeweils bis zu 15m
LINDY DVI SLD (Super Long Distance) Kabel
verbundene Extender können hintereinander verwendet werden bis zu einer
Gesamtdistanz von 60m bei einer Auflösung von 800x600.
ACHTUNG: Um maximale Kabell ängen zu erreichen mus s der Extender mit
LINDY SLD Kabeln einges etzt werden!

Installation und Betrieb
Für Distanzen zwischen G rafikkarte und Monitor bis 25m kann ein ein faches
LINDY SLD Kabel ohne E xtender für die folgende n DVI Auflösungen eingesetzt
werden.
• 15m bis 1600 x 1200 oder HDT V 1080i
• 20m bis 1280 x 1024
• 25m bis 1024 x 768
Für größere Distanzen wer den eine LINDY SLD Ver längerung + ein Exte nder +
ein SLD Anschlus skabel benötigt. Beide Kabel s ollten etwa die gleic he Länge
haben, mit DVI-Standard kabel sind diese Länge n NICHT erreichbar!
Folgende Maximallängen un d Auflösungen sind möglich:
• 40m bei 1280x1024 : SLD Verlänger ung 20m + Extender + SLD
Anschlusskabel 20m
• 45m bei 800x600: SLD Verlänger ung 15m + Extender + S LD Verlängerung
15m + Extender + SLD Ansc hlusskabel 15m
• 45m bei 1024x768: SLD Verlänger ung 15m + Extender + SLD Verlängerung
15m + Extender + SLD Ansc hlusskabel 15m (l eichtess Pixelrauschen je nac h
Grafikkarte und Monitor)
• 60m bei 800x600: SLD Verlänger ung 20m + Extender + S LD Verlängerung
20m + Extender + SLD Ansc hlusskabel 20m (l eichtes Pixelrauschen)
Diese Längen und Aufl ösungen wurden bei dir ekter Verbindung Grafik karte an
Monitor ermittel t. Bei zusätzlicher Verwendung von DVI Splittern und Switches
können diese Distanzen si ch verkürzen!
Hilfestellung bei Problemen
Die o.g. Längen und Aufl ösungen wurden mit verschiedenen aktuell en ATI und
NVidea Grafikkarten erm ittelt. Für DVI Signalquellen mit anderen Ausgan gsleistungen und anderer Signalqualität können die erreichbaren Länge n bzw.
Auflösungen geringer aus fallen!
Falls eine Installation m it mehreren Extendern kein Bild überträgt:
1. senken Sie die Auflösung auf 80 0x600. Wir d dann ein Bild übertragen so is t
möglicherweis e die von der DVI Signalquell e eingespeiste Si gnalqualität und
Leistung nicht ausrei chend
2. prüfen Si e andernfalls di e Installation bitte Segment f ür Segment um
sicherzustellen, dass kein Extender oder Kabel defe kt ist.
3. prüfen Si e bei hoher Auflös ung die Installation bi tte Segment für Segment.
Setzen Sie gegebenenfall s kürzere Kabel ei n wenn sich herausstel lt, das bei der
vorgegebenen Auflösung das Signal nicht korrek t übertragen wird. Verr ingern
Sie zuerst nur die Kabell änge des ersten Kabels an der Grafikkarte o der
versuchen Sie es mi t einer anderen modernen h ochwertigen Grafikkarte .

For commercial use
Il DVI-D Extender permette di trasmettere segnali DVI-D (digital single
link) a grandi distanze. E’ possible collegare fino a 5 Extender sulla
stessa linea e, utilizzando cavi DVI LINDY SLD (Super Long Distance) fra
un extender e l’altro, è possible raggiungere una distanza massima di
90m!
NOTA BENE: Per ottenere la massim a qualità trasmissiva il DVI Extender
deve essere utili zzato in abbinamento ai cavi L INDY SLD!

Utilizzo del DVI Extender
Nota sull’estensione dei segnali video DVI: Risoluzione e distanza
massima supportata dai c avi LINDY SLD :
15m @ 1600 x 1200 o HDT V 1080i
20m @ 1280 x 1024
25m @ 1024 x 768
Per queste distanza/risol uzioni potete utilizzare sol amente un cavo DVI SLD e
connettere direttamente la s cheda grafica e il monitor senza utilizzare il DVI
Extender.
Per distanze superiori dovete obbligatoriamente utilizzare i cavi DVI SLD in
abbinamento al DVI Extender. Cercate di utilizzare cavi SLD di lunghezza
simile per mantenere una trasmissi one bilanciata del segnal e. Potete fare
riferimento ai seguenti esempi:
40m @ 1280x1024 : Ca vo SLD M/F 20m + Extender + Cavo SLD M/M 20m
45m @ 800x600: Cavo SLD M/F 15m + Extender + Ca vo SLD M/F 15m +
Extender + Cavo SLD M/M

Nota
: Questa lunghezza e ri soluzione sono sopra il limite massim o
raccomandato per pres tazioni ottimali . In dipendenza dalla scheda gr afica e
dal monitor utilizzati pos sono comparire dei disturbi nell’immagi ne.
Si possono installar e più DVI Extender in cascata inter connettendoli con più
cavi SLD fino ad una dist anza massima di 90m . Non deve essere collegato
nessun altro disposi tivo DVI oltre ai DVI Extender fra la sc heda grafica e il
monitor! Installando al tri prodotti DVI come s plitter o switch, la di stanza
massima raggiungibi le può scendere fino a 7.5m @ 1600x1200 o 15m @
1024x768.
Risoluzione dei problemi:
La lunghezza e risoluzione mas sima supportata dai cavi è stata verificata c on
test approfonditi su schede grafi che di elevata qualità ATI e Nvidia. Per
l’utilizzo con schede di qualità inferiore ques ti parametri potrebbero ridursi.
Se in un istallazione con extender multipli non viene trasmessa alcuna
immagine controlIate ogni tratta verificando che tutti i cavi e gli extender
siano collegati correttamente. Se il problema persiste provate a ridurre la
risoluzione a 800x600. Se a questo punto l’immagine viene visualizzata
correttamente è chiaro che la qualità del segnale video DVI generato
dalla vostra scheda è insufficiente. In questo caso p rovate ad utilizzare
un cavo DVI più corto (10m) fra la scheda grafica e i l primo DVI Extender
e riportate la risoluzione al livello desiderato. In alte rnativa potete

Utilisation de l’Extender DVI
Remarque sur les extensions DVI: Les câbles L INDY SLD supportent des
résolutions maximales et des distances comme indiquées ci-dess ous :
15m @ 1600 x 1200 ou HDTV 1080i
20m @ 1280 x 1024
25m @ 1024 x 768
Cependant, à ces rés olutions/distanc es vous pouvez utiliser une connexion
simple DVI SLD entre la carte graphique e t le moniteur, sans la nécess ité d’un
Extender DVI.
Pour de plus grandes dis tances vous pouvez utiliser des câbles DVI SLD en
combinaison avec l’Extender DVI. 2 Extenders peuvent être utilisés avec used
3 câbles SLD maximum . Les exemples suivants indique les r ésolutions et
distances maximal es:
40m @ 1280 x 1024: Rall onge 20m SLD + Extender + Câble 20m SLD
45m @ 800 x 600: Rallonge 15m SLD + E xtender + Rallonge 15m SLD +
Extender + Câble 15m SLD
45m @ 1024 x 768: Rall onge 15m SLD + Extender + Rallonge 15m SLD +

Remarque
: Ces longueurs & rés olutions sont supérieures à celles
recommandées pour une performance optim ale. Suivant la carte graphique
utilisée, il se peut que vous observiez quelques dégradations de l’im age lors
de l’utilisation
Problèmes rencontrés
Les longueurs et les r ésolutions comme détai llées ci-dessus ont été testées
avec des équipements comme des cartes graphiques ATI et Nvidia. Pour
d’autres équipements DVI, la qualité et la distance de con nexion peuvent être
réduites voire incom patibles.
Si une installation néc essitant plusi eurs extenders ne transm et pas d’images,
vérifiez l’install ation segment par segment pour vous assurer que chaque
câble/extender est connec té correctement.
Si les problèm es persistent, ess ayez de réduire à 800 x600. Si le signal est
ensuite transmis de façon c orrecte dans cette résolution pour chaque
segment, c’est un s igne clair que la qual ité du signal DVI n’est pas suffi sante.
Si c’est le cas, es sayez de connecter un câble DV I SLD M/F plus cour t entre
la source du signal DVI et l’entrée vidéo du premier extender DVI. Réglez
ensuite à nouveau la résol ution. Le signal devrait s’améliorer .
