Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the LINDY IR over HDMI Extender Kit. This simple to use plug and play
extender allows you to control up to 4 AV source devices* via IR remote control over distances of up to
30m, without direct line of sight. Perfect for use with concealed AV installations and for use with nonCEC equipped HDMI AV products.
Using existing HDMI cabling, including LINDYs Active HDMI Extension Cables (LINDY No.41053-5) and
Fibre Optic Hybrid HDMI Cables (LINDY No. 38070-8), the IR over HDMI Extender Kit sends IR signals
in place of CEC commands, delivering full control of your AV equipment and overcoming CEC limitations
or incompatibilities.
The IR Receiver is small enough to be discreetly attached to a TV via its adhesive base, whilst the IR
Emitter features an adhesive front, allowing it to be positioned directly over an IR port. The IR Receiver
and Emitter can easily be extended using standard 3.5mm audio extension cables (LINDY No. 35460-5).
*1 x IR Emitter included, additional IR Emitters (LINDY No.38016) required to operate extra devices.

Installation
The following diagram shows a set up using 4 AV source devices*. In addition it is possible to place a
HDMI switch directly after the IR over HDMI Splitter, so that all sources utilise a single HDMI cable.
The IR over HDMI Extender Kit will not function through active electronics such as a HDMI Cat5e/6
Extender, or through a HDMI Switch, Splitter or Matrix. Please visit www.LINDY.com to view our full

Einführung
Dieses IR over HDMI Extender Kit erlaubt bis zu maximal vier HDMI Signalquellen über ein HDMI
Kabel und ohne direkte IR- und Sichtverbindung zu ihnen fernzusteuern. Das Kit enthält einen IR
Receiver und einen IR Transmitter um IR Signale an eine HDMI Quelle auszugeben; für weitere Geräte
erforderliche zusätzliche IR Transmitter sind unter der LINDY Artikelnummer 38016 erhältlich. Es ist
ideal geeignet um in einem Rack versteckte Geräte sowie Geräte ohne HDMI CEC Unterstützung oder
bei CEC Kompatibilitätsproblemen fernzusteuern.
Das Extender Kit funktioniert über direkte HDMI Kabelverbindungen auch in großen Längen sowie mit
den LINDY Aktivverlängerungen, z.B. 41054, etc. Er funktioniert aber nicht durch/über aktive
elektronische HDMI Umschalter, Splitter, Matrix Switches oder Cat.5 bzw. Fiber Optic Extender!
Der IR Receiver nimmt die IR Fernbedienungssignale jeglicher IR Fernbedienungen (im
Frequenzbereich 38-56kHz) auf, der Injector fügt Sie in das HDMI Signalkabel statt des CEC Signals
ein, und am entfernten Ende mit dem Splitter werden sie über die anzuschließenden IR Transmitter
wieder ausgegeben.
Der IR Receiver muss dazu in der Nähe Ihres TV Gerätes an diskreter Stelle platziert werden, die IR
Transmitter direkt auf den IR Sensoren der ferngesteuerten Geräte bzw. in direkter Sichtverbindung zu
diesen. Ihre Anschlusskabel können bei Bedarf problemlos mit Audiokabel mit 3,5mm Anschlüssen
(LINDY Art.-Nr. 35462/2m – 35465/10m) verlängert werden.

Introduction
Merci pour votre achat de ce Kit extender IR sur HDMI LINDY. Cet extender simple d’utilisation en plug
and play vous permet de contrôler jusqu’à 4 sources audio/vidéo* via contrôle par télécommande IR sur
des distances allant jusqu’à 30m, sans ligne de vue directe. Parfait pour une utilisation avec des
installations audio/vidéo dissimulées et des produits audio/vidéo HDMI non-CEC.
En utilisant les câbles HDMI existant, y compris les câbles HDMI actifs LINDY (N° Art.41053-5) et les
câbles HDMI hybrides avec fibre optique ( N° Art 38070-8), le Kit extender IR over HDMI envoi les
signaux IR à la place des commandes CEC, permettant un contrôle total de vos équipements
audio/vidéo et de surmonter les limitations et incompatibilités CEC.
Le récepteur IR est suffisament petit pour être fixé discrètement à un téléviseur via sa base adhésive,
tandis que l’émetteur IR dispose d’une face adhésive, permettant de le positionner directement sur un
capteur IR. Le récepteur et l’émetteur IR peuvent être facilement prolongés en utilisant une rallonge
audio jack 3.5mm standard (N° Art. 35462-5).
*1 x émetteur IR inclus, émetteurs IR additionnels (N° Art.38016) requis pour faire fonctionner des
appareils supplémentaires.

Le schéma suivant illustre une configuration avec 4 sources audio/vidéo*. En outre, il est possible de
placer un switch/commutateur HDMI directement après le splitter IR sur HDMI, de sorte que toutes les
sources utilisent un seul câble HDMI.
Le kit extender IR sur HDMI ne fonctionne pas avec les extenders HDMI Cat5e/6 utilisant de

Introduzione
Grazie per aver acquistao il Kit Extender LINDY IR over HDMI. Questo extender semplice da installare
ed utilizzare vi permetterà di controllare da remoto fino a 4 dispositivi A/V* tramite il relativo
telecomando fino ad una distanza di 30m anche senza che questi siano in vista. Questo dispositivo è
perfetto per controllare dispositivi nascosti in mobili o apparati non compatibili con lo standard HDMI
CEC . L’extender IR over HDMI trasmette I segnali IR al posto dei comandi CEC tramite i cavi HDMI
già esistenti, inclusi gli Extender/Repeater attivi HDMI (art.41053-5) e i cavi HDMI ibridi LINDY in Fibra
(art. 38070-8) consentendo un completo controllo degli apparari A/V risolvendo anche limitazioni e
incompatibilità dello standard CEC.
Il ricevitore IR è abbastanza piccolo da essere attaccato alla televisione grazie alla base già dotata di
una striscia adesiva,. L’emettitore IR è invece dotato di un’apposita striscia adesiva sulla parte frontale
per essere posizionato direttamente davani al ricevitore del dispositivo A/V da controllare. I cavi del
ricevitore e dell’emettitore IR possono essere facilmente estesi tramite comuni prolunghe audio con con
connettore Jack da 3,5mm (Art. 35460-5)..
*Include un emittore IR: possono essere aggiunti altri emettitori (Art.38016) per controllare più dispositivi
con lo stesso kit.

In aggiunta è possibile installare uno switch HDMI direttamente dopo l’IR over HDMI Splitter,
permettendo a tutte le sorgenti di utilizzare un solo cavo.
L’extender kit IR over HDMI non funziona attraverso dispositivi elettronici attivi come gli Extender HDMI

In 2006 the European Union introduced regulations (WEEE) for the collection and recycling of all waste
electrical and electronic equipment. It is no longer allowable to simply throw away electrical and
electronic equipment. Instead, these products must enter the recycling process.
Each individual EU member state has implemented the WEEE regulations into national law in slightly
different ways. Please follow your national law when you want to dispose of any electrical or electronic
products. More details can be obtained from your national WEEE recycling agency.
Germany / Deutschland
Die Europäische Union hat mit der WEEE Direktive Regelungen für die Verschrottung und das Recycling
von Elektro- und Elektronikprodukten geschaffen. Diese wurden im Elektro- und Elektronikgerätegesetz
– ElektroG in deutsches Recht umgesetzt. Dieses Gesetz verbietet das Entsorgen von entsprechenden,
