The LINDY 10BaseT hubs are compatible with IEEE 802.3 10BaseT standard. The hubs are very compact and can be used in places with very limited space.

Installation and Use

Connect the power supply to the mains and to the 10Ba se T hub. Connect the hub to your network interface card using a standard patch lead. To conne ct the hub to another hub, use a standard pa tch lead and connect it to the Uplink po rt of one of hubs.

Ethernet 10BaseT General Information

Please regard the following 10BaseT rules: It is a star topo logy that requires no terminators. The maximum length of 10BaseT between two hubs is 100m. The maximum length of 10BaseT between the hub and network interface card is 100m (including the patch cables).

Troubleshooting

If your Ethernet network seems to operate very slowly and the Collision LED is illuminated almost all of the time during operation it may be due to one of the following problems:

At first you should check all th e cables and connection s. If the situa tion does not change it may be due to the fact there is too mu ch traffic on the network. In this case the situation sho u ld be analysed by a professional network specialist.

Installation und Bedienung

Stecken Sie das Steckernetzteil in die Steckdose und verbinden Sie es mit dem 10BaseT Hub. Schließen Sie dann Ihre Endgeräte mit LINDY Patchkabeln an die Downstream Ports an sowie den Upstream Port zum Server bzw. zum Upstream Hub. Bei Verwendung von Sta ndard Patchkabel ist am Uplink Port die Einstellung Uplink zu wähle n .

Ethernet 10BaseT General Information

Beachten Sie bitte die Richtlinien für Strukturierte Verkabelung von 10BaseT Ethernet Netzwerken. 10BaseT ist ein Punkt-zu.Punkt Netzwerk in Sterntop ologie. Es darf keine Ringverbindung hergestellt werden. Es sind keine Terminatoren an den Endpunkten zu verwenden. Ein 10BaseT Netzwerk darf bis zu 5 Netzwerkebenen beinhalten. Es müssen RJ-45 STP oder UTP Kabel v erwendet werden, die zumindest der Kategorie 3 (Level 3) entsprechen. Die Maximallänge eines 10BaseT Segmentes beträ gt 100m je Verbindung (inklusive Wand- und Anschlusskabel). Der Uplink Port - in der Einstellung Uplink - dient zum Anschluß des Hubs an den Server bzw . zum Upstream Hub mit Standard Patch Kabel.

Fehlersuche

Wenn Ihr Ethernet Netzwe rk fehlerhaft oder nur sehr langsam a rbeitet und wenn die Collision LED fast ununterbrochen leuchtet kann dies grundsätzlich zwei Ursachen haben:

Im ersten Falle überprüfen Sie Kabel und Anschlüsse nacheinander. Im zweiten Falle sollten Sie d ie Umstellung au f ei n 1 0 0BaseT Netz in Erwägung ziehen. Lassen Sie ihr Netzwerk v on eine m qualifizierten Netzwerktechniker übe rprüfen.

• Connectez l’adaptateur d’a limentation au secteur puis au hub.

• Pour connecter le hub à votre carte réseau, utilisez les ports

standards du hub.

• Pour connecter le hub à un autre hub, veuille z utiliser la connexion Uplink d’un hub à l’autre hub.

Veuillez vous référer aux règles du 10Base-T. Il s‘agit d‘une topologie en étoile qui ne nécessite pas de terminaiso ns. La longue ur maximum entre deux hubs est de 5m. La longue ur maximum entre le hub et la ca rte réseau est de 100m.

Problèmes Techniques

Si votre réseau Ethernet v ous semble lent et que la LED Collision est allumée, il est possible que l’un des éléments suivants soit la cause d u problème :

- Les câbles sont endommagés, non conformes ou ne sont pas connectés correctement.

- Le trafic sur le réseau est trop élev é.
