Overview

The Standard Parallel Auto Switch 1:2 (1:4) allows you to share one printer between two (four) computers. The sw itch scans for any print jobs sent by the comput ers and relays the data to the printer. When one computer is printing, the other computer(s) will be placed in a print queue until the current print job is f inished.

Installation

1. Turn off all the connected devices.

2. Connect the Auto Switch to the PCs with a 25 Way D Male / Male - cables (LINDY Article No.

30306).

3. Connect the Auto Switch to the printer with a 25 Way D Male / 36 Way Centronics Male - cable (LINDY Article No. 30304).

4. Turn on the PC, connected devices and the printer and reboot.

5. A power adapter is only required when the Auto

Switch does not receive enough power from the connected devices and works intermittently.

If you are faced with printing problems:

• Make sure that in the BIOS the parallel interface is set to the standard parallel mode (SPP).

• If the cable from the PC to the printer is longer than 15 feet, a power adapter should be used to guarantee the performance.

Übersicht

Mit dem aut o matisc hen Dr uc k erumschalter SPP 1:2 (1:4) können sich 2 (4) Computer einen Drucker teilen. Der Druckerumschalter scannt regelmäßig nach Druckaufträgen der Computer und schickt Daten an den Drucker. Wenn ein Computer druckt, kann der andere keinen Druckauftrag senden bis der aktuelle Auftrag erledigt ist.

Installation

1. Schalten Sie alle Geräte aus.

Verbinden Sie den Druckerumschalter und die PCs mit DB 25-Kabeln, Stecker-Stecker (LINDYArtikelnr. 30306).

Verbinden Sie den Druckerumschalter und den Drucker mit einem DB25 an Centronics 36 – Kabel / Stecker - Stecker (LINDY-Artikelnr.

30304).

Schalten Sie die PCs und den Drucker ein.

Ein Netzteil benötigen Sie nur falls der Druckerumschalter nicht genug Spannung über die angeschlossenen Geräte beziehen kann und nicht korrekt arbeitet.

Bei Problemen mit dem Druck beachten Sie bitte

• daß im BI OS die Parallels c hn ittstell e auf SPP eingestellt ist.

• daß Sie bei einer Kabellänge (von Drucker zu PC) ab 4,5m ein Netzteil verwenden sollten um eine gute Druckqualität zu erzielen.

Introduction

Le switch standard parallèle Auto Switch 1:2 (1:4) vous permet de partager une imprimante entre deux (quatre) ordinateurs. L’appareil scanne les données provenant de l’imprimante. Lorsqu’un ordinateur imprime, l’autre ordinateur sera mis en attente jusqu’à ce que le travail d’impression actuel soit term i né.

Installation

1. Eteignez tous les périphériques.

2. Connectez le switch au PCs avec des câbles DB25 m / m (Article LINDY No. 30306).

3. Connectez le switch à l’imprimante par un câble DB25 m / Centronics36 m (Ar t icle LINDY 30304).

4. Allumez les PCs et l’imprimante.

5. Un adaptateur d’alimentat ion es t seulement nécessaire lorsque le switch ne tire pas assez de courant des périphériques connectés.

Si vous avez des problèmes d’impression:

• Soyez certains que l’option SPP est sélectionnée dans le BIOS de votre PC.

• Si le câble du PC à l’imprimante est plus long que 10m, il est conseillé de connecter une alimentation externe pour garantir les performances.

Introduzione

L’Auto Switch Parallelo Standard 1:2 (1:4) permette di condividere una stampante con due (quattro) computer. Esamina le richieste di lavoro di stampa da parte dei computer e trasmette i dati alla stampante. Quando un computer sta stampando, l’altro e/o altri verranno messi in coda finché l a stampa cor rente non sia terminata.

Installazione

1. Spegnere tutte le periferiche.

2. Collegare l’ Auto Switch ai PC con cavi D25 m / m (LINDY Art. Nr. 30306).

3. Collegare l’ Auto Switch alla stampate con un cavo a D25 m / CN36 m (LINDY Art. Nr. 30304) .

4. Avviare i PC ed accendere la stampante.

5. L’alimentatore è necessario solamente quando l’Auto Switch non prende abbastanza alimentazione dalle periferiche collegate e lavora ad intermitt enza.

Se avete dei problemi di stampa:

• Assicuratevi che nel BIOS l’interfaccia parallela sia settata in modalità Parallela Standard (SPP).

• Se il cavo dal PC alla stampante ha una lunghezza superiore ai 4.5 metri, dovrebbe essere utilizzato un alimentatore per garantire le prestazioni.
