The SAS/SATA II HDD Backplane Module is

designed to hold 4 SAS or SATA 2.5” HDDs, each in

an individual tray, and can be installed easily into one

standard 5.25” bay. When SAS HDDs are used two

SATA data connections per HDD (primary and
secondary channel) are supported. When SATA
HDDs are used the secondary SATA ports (yellow)
have no function.

To release a HDD tray, slide the bar switch away from
the coloured handle and pull it out by the door handle.
To mount or release the HDD, hold the tray with both
hands and carefully push the latch on the top back as
shown by the arrow on top.

Please mount your HDDs in the trays using 4 of the
supplied screws for each HDD. For HDDs with

9.5mm height, put the plastic top cover back into
position while carefully adjusting the front latches into
position on the tray bezel. For HDDs with 12.5mm
height, the top cover must not be used. Now slide the
tray into the bay module by pushing on the black part
of the bezel. When it has reached the back, push the
coloured handle until it snaps into position so that the
tray does not stand out from the 5.25” frame.

The DIP switch on the back of the module selects
LED(?) and staggered spin up function:

o position: LED flashing flickering blue for access

and staggered spin up enabled
x position: LED non-flashing flickering and spin up
with power enabled

Dies Backplanemodul wurde entwickelt um vier
SAS oder SATA HDDs auf individuellen Einschü­ben in nur einem einzigen 5,25“ Standard­Einbauschacht unterzubringen. Bei Verwendung
von SAS-Festplatten werden zwei SATA
Datenanschlüsse pro Platte unterstützt. Bei
Verwendung von SATA Festplatten sind die
sekundären gelben SATA Anschlüsse ohne
Funktion.

Um einen Plattenträger herauszunehmen schieben
Sie die Taste vom farbigen Hebel weg und ziehen
Sie den Einschub am aufspringenden Hebel
heraus. Nehmen Sie den Einschub in beide Hände
und drücken Sie die Lasche hinten oben vorsichtig
in Pfeilrichtung um den Kunststoffdeckel
abzunehmen.

Schrauben Sie die Festplatte auf dem Träger fest
und befestigen Sie den Kunststoffdeckel wieder.
Achten Sie dabei darauf, die Laschen an der
Vorderseite korrekt in die Frontblende zu
positionieren und rasten Sie die hintere Lasche
ein. Durch Drücken auf den schwarzen Teil der
Blende schieben Sie den Rahmen bis ganz nach
hinten ein. Leichter Druck auf den farbigen
Verriegelungshebel lässt diesen dann hör- und
fühlbar einrasten, so dass der Einbaurahmen nicht
aus dem 5,25“ Rahmen hervorsteht.

Der DIP Switch an der Rückseite legt die
Funktion für LED und Anlaufverzögerung fest:

o-Position: LED blinkt bei Zugriffen,

Anlaufverzögerung aktiv
x-Position: LED blinkt nicht, keine
Anlaufverzögerung, Platten laufen gleich hoch

CE/FCC Statement, Recycling Information

Ce module backplane est conçu pour accueillir 4

disques durs 2.5’’ SAS ou SATA dans un tiroir
rack, chaque tiroir rack s’installent ensuite dans
une seule baie standard 5.25”. Si des disques durs

SAS sont utilisés, deux connexions SATA sont
supportés pour chaque disque dur (canal primaire
et secondaire). Si des disques durs SATA sont

utilisés, les ports SATA secondaires (jaune) n’ont

pas de fonction.
Pour éjecter un module backplane, tirez

légèrement sur le levier en façade, puis retirez le
module.

Pour monter ou démonter un disque dur, tenez le
module dans les 2 mains et poussez avec
précaution le levier (la sécurité) du fond vers le
haut.

Merci d’installer avec précaution vos disques durs

dans leur module en utilisant 4 vis et glissez les
dans le module backplane en pressant doucement

sur le levier jusqu’à ce qu’un claquement se fasse

entendre.
Pour les disques durs de 9,5mm de hauteur,

placez le capot avec précaution après avoir ajusté
la position du levier de sécurité.

Pour les disques durs de 12,5mm de hauteur, le
capot ne doit pas être utilisé.

Glissez ensuite le module backplane dans la

station d’accueil backplane. Une fois complètement
enfoncé, poussez le levier jusqu’à ce qu’il se

clipse.

Le DIP switch du dos du module règlent le
statut des LED :

Position o : la LED clignote lors des accès,

démarrage retardé du disque dur
Position x : la LED ne clignote pas, démarrage
direct du disque dur

la possibilità di utilizzare i due connettori SATA
(canale primario e secondario), se utilizzate dischi
SATA, la porta SATA secondaria (gialla) non va
collegata.

Per estrarre una slitta per HDD, spostate il tasto in
direzione opposta alla leva colorata e tirate. Per

installare o estrarre l’HDD, tenete l’alloggiamento

con entrambe le mani e spingete con attenzione la
linguetta nella direzione mostrata dalla freccia
sulla parte superiore.

Installate gli HDD negli alloggiamenti utilizzando 4
viti per HDD. Se avete HDD alti 9.5mm posizionate
la copertura in plastica nella slitta. Per gli HDD alti

12.5mm non dovete utilizzare la copertura in

plastica. Fate scorrere la slitta nell’alloggiamento,

quando raggiunge il fondo, premete la leva
colorata per posizionarla nella sua sede in modo
che non sporga dal frame da 5.25”.

Tramite i DIP switch sul retro del modulo potete
definire la funzione dei LED(?) e la funzione di
avvio sequenziale dei dischi (staggered spin­up):

Posizione o: LED blu lampeggianti per accesso e

staggered spin-up abilitato
Posizione x: LED non lampeggianti e staggered
spin-up disabilitato
