Introduction
Lincoln model FC1 25-gallon Fuel Caddy are designed for safely transferring fuel to or from gas tanks prior to or following repair or removal. Both models utilize a reversible manual rotary pump to draw fluid in or dispense fluid out of the 25-gallon storage tank, depending on the direction of rotation. Model FC1 includes a 2-way filter system with automatic check valve that filters the fuel through one filter as it is drawn in and through a second filter as it is dispensed out.
Fuel may also be poured into the caddy through the filler tube. Simply remove the filler tube cap and direct the pour into the tube. Watch the sight level tube to prevent overfilling. Be sure not to fill the tank above the screen at the base of the filler tube.
• Wear gloves and protective clothing to avoid the contact of gasoline on skin. If contact occurs, immediately wash the area and perform necessary first aid.
• Always keep a fire extinguisher on hand when performing fuel related service. Make sure the extinguisher is rated for fuel, electrical and chemical fires.
• Clean up fuel spills immediately after they occur.
Care and Maintenance
The fuel caddy does not require any particular maintenance other than normal cleaning. The unit should be cleaned using a cloth dampened with water, alcohol, or detergent recommended for household electrical appliances.

Assembly
Refer to the exploded view and chart on page 3 for assistance with identifying parts and their location during assembly.
Wheels
1. Remove the nut (11) and lock washer (10) from the wheel shaft, leaving the plain washer (9) on the shaft.
2. Insert the wheel shaft through the hole in the wheel brace welded to the tank.
3. Slide the lock washer (10) onto the wheel shaft and screw the nut (11) onto the shaft thread.
4. Use a 7/8" open-end wrench between the wheel and the outside of the wheel brace to hold the shaft, and tighten the nut with a 15/16" open-end or hex wrench.
5. Repeat this procedure for the second wheel.
Pump
1. Apply PTFE tape to the thread on the 6" (150mm) long pipe extending from the top of the tank.
2. Install the pump (18) by threading the inlet (black bushing and marked “IN”) onto the pipe.
3. Tighten the pump using a 1-3/4" open-end wrench on the flats of the black bushing.
Note: Be sure to orient the pump during final tightening, so the
handle is easily accessible.
4. Slide the pump handle (19) onto the pump shaft. Rotate the handle to align the locking nut with the indentation on the shaft. Tighten the locking nut using a 14 mm open-end or hex wrench.
Filler Pipe
1. Thread the filler pipe (3) into the screened port on top of the tank.
2. Install the cap (2) onto the top of the filler pipe.
Vent Cap
1. Thread the vent cap (1) into the open port (w/o screen) located on top of the tank.
Handle, Ground Wires and Filter Housing

5. Slide on a plain washer (6) and secure with a hex nut (5).
6. Perform the same operation on the opposite bracket, excluding the ground wire.
7. Wrap the 3/4" NPT Swivel Elbow Fitting (21) with PTFE tape and install it into the top of the pump (18). Tighten with 1-1/16" wrench (see Fig. 3).
8. Wrap one end of the filter connection hose (22) with PTFE tape and install it into one of the filter housing ports using a 1-1/16" wrench (see Fig. 4).
9. Connect the other end of the hose to the swivel fitting using 1-1/16" and 1-1/4" wrenches (see Fig. 5).
10. Wrap the ¾" NPT thread on the end of the fluid transfer hose (20) and install it into the opposite end of the filter housing using a 1-1/16" wrench (see Fig. 6).
11. Lubricate the seal on one of the filters and install it to the filter housing. Hand tighten (see Fig. 7).
