SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Installation, commissioning and servicing must only be carried out by qualified personnel in compliance with national and local regulations in force in the country of installation.
Warning
The manufacturer assumes no liability resulting from failure to strictly follow the instructions in this booklet.
INSTALLATION
Location of installation
Technical data, dimensions, and connections are provided in the Appendix.  The appliance is type ‘A’. Installation must include sufficient ventilation to prevent the occurrence of unacceptable
concentrations of substances harmful to health in the room of installation. There must be a minimum free area of
4.5cm2 per kW of total heat input.
Allow for a sufficient flow of fresh air for complete gas combustion.  The appliance must be installed at least 50mm from any potential side walls, 1000 from ceilings and 100mm from
any potential back walls.
Ensure all vents are unobstructed.  If the appliance must be fitted near walls, partitions kitchen furniture etc we recommend they are made from non-
inflammable material, otherwise they should be covered with a suitable heat-resistant material. Full attention must be paid to fire prevention regulations.
Do not connect directly to any flue, ducting or mechanical extraction system.  Do not obstruct or block the flue.  Site this appliance beneath an extraction canopy for the removal of combustion products.  The gas supply hose or tubing shall comply with national requirements in force and shall be periodically examined
and replaced as necessary.
Assembly
Before connecting the appliance, all protective covers must be removed. Clean the work area and external parts
carefully with a solvent to remove any traces of glue.
Check with a spirit level. Levelling can be achieved by adjusting the legs.
Connecting appliances (Fig 1)
Place the appliances together and adjust them to the same level using the adjustable feet.  Connect the appliances using the holes situated on the side at the front and back of the hob.
Connecting to a gas supply
Installation and connection to the gas supply must only be carried out by a technician authorised by your local gas
supplier.
Before connection, ensure that the appliance is suitable for the type of gas supplied.  Ensure the gas supply is provided with an isolating cock for emergency shut down.  Ensure that the supply hose is suitable for commercial appliances and less than1.5m in length.  Once installation is complete, ensure all joints are leak free.
Earth and equipotential connection
The appliance must be connected to an equipotential system the terminal is situated near the entry point of the
electrical supply cable and is marked by the symbol.

ADJUSTMENT FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF GAS (CATEGORY 2 APPLIANCES ONLY, FOR CATEGORY 1 APPLIANCES THIS DOES NOT APPLY REFER TO DATA
PLATE)
To adapt the appliance to another type of gas, suitable injectors are required. Main burner and pilot injectors marked with the relative diameter in hundredth of mm are included with the appliance. To change the injectors, follow the instructions below.
Changing the burner injectors (Fig 2a & 2b).
Remove the control knobs and fascia panel.  Loosen the nut ‘A’ at the valve sufficiently to allow the flexible burner injector feed pipe to be rotated.  Remove the screws ‘B’ from the injector mounting bracket. Rotate the injector bracket and the flexible burner injector feed pipe to gain access to the injector.  Remove the main injector ‘X’, the copper washer ‘Y’ and the fibre washer ‘Z’. Replace with the appropriate injector applicable to the desired gas type (see Table 1) and reassemble parts.
Fig 2a
Y
Changing the minimum rate screws (Fig 3)
Remove the control knobs and fascia panel  Remove the by-pass injector ‘Y’ by screwing anti-clockwise.  The rubber ‘O’ ring fitted to the by-pass injector will offer some resistance. It may be necessary to complete the
withdrawal of the by-pass injector using long nose pliers.
Replace with the appropriate by-pass injector applicable to the desired gas type (see Table 1).  Ensure the by-pass injector is screwed fully home.
Changing the pilot (Fig 4)
Remove the control knobs and fascia panel.  Remove the two screws ‘A’ from the pilot bracket. Remove the ignitor lead ‘B’ from the electrode. Free the thermocouple lock nut ‘C’ from the valve. Loosen the pilot feed pipe ‘D’ from the valve body allowing the pilot pipe to swivel. Remove the M4 nuts ‘E’, washers and screws securing the pilot to the pilot bracket. Remove the pilot compression fitting ‘F’.  Replace and refit in reverse order.  Note: Refit the ignitor lead before securing pilot assembly to the body of the appliance.

PREPARING FOR OPERATION
Inspection of the gas supply
Start the appliance following the instructions for use. Check ignition and correct lighting of burners, pilot flame
operation and for any gas leaks.
Check the efficiency of the waste gas removal system and the operation of aeration systems.  If necessary, consult the section ‘Potential troubleshooting and solutions’.
Inspection of the rated thermal output
When installation, conversion, maintenance or adjustment operations are complete, verify the condition of the
appliance and check the rated thermal output as indicated in Table T2.
Appliances operate with correct injectors intended for rated thermal output. The supply pressure is indicated in
Table T1. In order to measure the supply pressure please read the section ‘Inspection of gas connection pressure’.
Inspection of gas connection pressure
To measure the gas connection pressure, use a manometer with a minimum designation of 0.2 mbar.  Remove the fascia panel. Remove the holding screw on the pressure connection and connect the manometer pipe.  Take the measurement during the operation of the appliance.  Remove the manometer pipe; replace the holding screw and fascia panel.
Attention: If the values of the gas supply pressure are not within the limits indicated in Table T1, switch off the appliance and contact your gas supply company.
POTENTIAL TROUBLESHOOTING AND SOLUTIONS
Even during correct use of the appliance, malfunctions and breakdowns may occur. Common situations are listed below, and checks an installer should make before contacting the technical support centre are indicated. If after checking, the problem remains, switch the appliance off immediately and disconnect it from the power supply. Contact the technical support centre.
Difficult or unsuccessful lighting of pilot light
Insufficient gas pressure.  Blocked pipe work or injector.  Defective gas valve.  Defective piezo igniter or ignition cable.
Pilot light going out during use
Defective thermocouple, incorrect connections to gas valve.  Defective gas tap or valve.
Difficult or unsuccessful lighting of burners
Insufficient gas pressure.  Blocked pipe work or injector.  Defective gas valve.
Burners going out during use
Defective thermocouple or incorrect connections to gas valve.
REPLACING COMPONENTS WITH SPARES
ATTENTION: This section exclusively concerns technical assistance personnel. IMPORTANT: Before any servicing, maintenance or repairs disconnect the appliance from the gas supply. Do not touch the sealed regulation screws, situated on the gas valve. After any servicing, make sure to check the integrity of the appliance, checking for gas soundness.
