Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Linar Audio P107, Stereo Preamplifier. Linar Audio products are the fruit of extensive research and development in the audio field. Linar Audio
Preamplifiers are designed to provide the world-class performance. The structure of the P107 is made of a passive volume control at the front end followed by a gain section
without feedback. The volume control circuit uses mechanical relays with high precision low noise resistors to preserve the integrity of the signal. Mechanical relays have zero ON resistance, infinite OFF resistance, almost no capacitance and introduce no distortion. The variation of the volume level may occasionally introduces very small “clicks” that are no danger for the loudspeakers. The voltage gain section on the P107 is designed with J-FET transistors at the input and MOSFET transistors at the output stage, without feedback. The circuitry is fully complementary and fully balanced from input to output.
Aesthetically stunning and sonically spectacular, the Linar P107 is a perfect match for your high-end 2 channel sources.
As with many high-end audio products, your Linar Preamplifier will require a significant break-in period. This process may take up to 200 hours of use.
Familiarize yourself with the material contained within this manual prior to using in order to get the full benefit of your investment. If you have any uncertainties, contact your Linar Audio dealer.
Given proper use and care, your Linar Audio Preamplifier should provide you with many years of exceptional music reproduction and listening pleasure.

3 Input Selection (Zone 3)
The P107 has seven inputs. The inputs are tagged as IN1, IN2, IN3, IN4 to IN7. The IN4 may be used as a MONITOR INPUT.
The selection of the input is done by pressing the INPUT button. When the input button is pressed, the input will scroll up: IN1, IN2,… IN6, IN7 and starts over again. For example, if the input selected before pressing the input button is IN4, pressing the input button will bring it to IN5.
4 Special functions (Zone 4)
Three buttons enable the special functions of the P107. Those functions are:
- Labelling an input
- Set the maximum volume level per input
- Enabling BYPASS
- Set the intensity of the display
Labelling an input
The user may assign a label to any input. The choice of label is: CD, DVD, TUNER, AUX1, AUX2. Via the remote control, the input currently selected may be labelled by pressing program and followed by the label button in zone 5. Note that MON label is restricted to IN4.
The programming sequence is the following:
1. Press “PROG”
3. The text of the bottom row will be: INx: PROGRAM (x is the number of the input)
4. Press the desired label button (in zone 5 on figure 5)
5. The text of the bottom row will be: INx: YYYY, where YYYY is the label chosen in step 4. To remove the label of an input;
1. Select the input with a label to be removed
2. Press “PROG” twice on the remote control.
3. The TEXT of the bottom row will be: INx (x is the number of the selected input)
Set the maximum volume level per input
In order to prevent excessive level feeding the amplifier, the user can define for each input, the maximum volume level except when the bypass mode is selected,. Therefore, the upper limit will no longer be 12.0dB if the user wants to limit the maximum level to another value.
The set a maximum volume level,
1. Press “PROG”
2. Press “MUTE”
3. The volume level on the display will be: 12.0 12.0 (or the maximum level already set)
4. Press the volume up or down to select the desired level. Both channels volume will increase or decrease by the same value.

12
Page 13
Linar Audio P107 - Stereo Preamplifier ___________________________________________________________________________________
If the user wants to retrieve the full dynamic range, he has to repeat the sequence above and set the volume to 12.0 dB. Values greater than 12.0 or less than -95.0 are not permitted.
NOTE: The BYPASS function overrides the maximum volume level setting.
Enabling BYPASS
CAUTION:
Enabling bypass to an inappropriate input may results to permanent damage to the
loudspeaker and may force the amplifier to shutdown due to the excessive input
level.
The bypass mode allows the user to connect “directly” a source to the amplifier meaning that the amplitude of the signal from the source is neither amplified nor attenuated. Note that this condition applies only when the input is the same type as the output (RCA or XLR).
To activate the bypass mode, the sequence is the following:
1. Press “PROG”
2. Press “BYPASS”
3. The bottom line of the display shows: INx : BYPASS ?
4. Press “BYPASS” again to confirm the command within 9 seconds. NOTE: If the user presses any button but BYPASS, or wait more than 9 seconds, the command will be cancelled.
NOTE: If the user does not press PROG before pressing BYPASS, the command is ignored and the display show on the top line: INVALID for one second.
To de activate the bypass mode, the sequence is the following:
1. Press “BYPASS”
2. The input returns to the settings (label and volume) before the activation of the BYPASS.
Set the intensity of the display
The intensity of the display is adjustable to four levels: 0% (OFF), 50%, 75% and 100%. To set the intensity of the display
1. Pressing “DISP” varies the intensity step by step. Pressing DISP will bring the intensity to
the next level: 0% to 50%, 50% to 75%, 75% to 100% and 100% to 0%
5 Direct Input Selection (Zone 5)
