The Lil’ Jumbl Bedwetting Alarm is
designed to assist you in correcting one
of the most challenging parental training
tasks: bedwetting. This easy to use tool is
sensitive enough to detect the first hint of
moisture so your youngster learns to wake
up and visit the bathroom. Using vibration
and sound helps awaken even the most
determined sleepers and the unit is easy
to reset each night. Correcting
bedwetting is not easy but the Lil’ Jumbl
Bedwetting Alarm makes it easier.

the alert.

Recommended Training
The alarm is a tool to assist training the
sleeper; for adults or older children, it may
be used without the additional help of a
trainer; that is something you will have to
evaluate based on the circumstances.
However, if the sleeper is not awakened
by the alarm or disconnects it without
properly using the bathroom, a trainer is
necessary to ensure success of the process.
• Interest your child in the process. Explain
the problem and the solution you are
employing.
• Before using the alarm for the initial
night, place a moist cloth on the alarm
so your child hears it and knows what to
expect so it does not scare him.
• Expect resistance to change but do not
stop the training.
• Some children wet the bed because
they are so exhausted that they sleep
through the body’s natural urination
notification. To combat this situation,
encourage your child to take an
afternoon nap.
• In the early phases of the training, the
alarm may not awaken the sleeper so
the trainer must be able to hear the
alarm so he or she can awake and help
the child to the bathroom; resist
reprimanding the child for sleeping
through the alarm; praise for progress
and quietly ignoring accidents
produces the best results.
• To stop the alarm, open the clip that
attaches the alarm to the clothing.
• Before returning to bed, use
conversation to re-engage the sleeper
in the process.
• Clean any soiled clothing or bedding;
use a cloth to clean the sensor,
reconnect the alarm and return the
sleeper to bed.
• In the morning, again engage the child
in the process. If they did not wake up
at all, remind them that they must
awake. Remind them of taking them to
the bathroom and any clean-up
needed to stimulate the memory and
reiterate the process.
• Before going to bed again repeat the
steps of the training.
• Be enthusiastic of any progress. If they
were sleeping through the alarm but it
begins to wake them even if they still
have an accident, acknowledge that
progress. If they partially wet the bed
but use the bathroom as well,
acknowledge that progress.
• Keep instructing them on the training
and its goal.
• This process will likely be frustrating,
seem long no matter how long it takes,
and the trainer will become very tired of
getting up at night to assist the sleeper.
However, the best use of the alarm is to
resist the urge to interrupt the training,
wait for a more cooperative period in
the child’s life, or even just to catch up
on sleep. Interruptions in the training
can lead to serious backsliding
necessitating starting from the
beginning which prolongs the training
and the problem.
• Keep using the alarm even after several
weeks of dry beds to be sure the
training is successful.
• Reinstall the alarm for cases of
backsliding.
Tips
• The Lil’ Jumbl Bedwetting Alarm is here
to help you correct the frustrating habit
of bedwetting.
• Remember that the child must be
engaged in the process to terminate
bedwetting.
• Don’t wait for the bedwetting habit to
become entrenched; start using the
Lil’ Jumbl Bedwetting Alarm when you
detect the problem starting.
• You may want to keep your child’s door
open when using the alarm to be sure
you hear it so you can escort him to the
bathroom before he has an accident.
• The tool works best with sung-fitting
underpants.
• Don’t wait for your child to grow out of
this habit; take steps to stop bedwetting
before it adversely impact’s your child’s
self-image.
