It is important to install this product in accordance with the tting instructions below. Failure to do so may render your guarantee void.
FITTING AND WIRING INSTRUCTIONS:
Important Things to Consider Before you Begin
1). Before commencing work, ALWAYS isolate the mains power supply and remove the fuse in the fuse box or switch o the circuit breaker in the consumer unit.
2). If unit is to be used as a replacement for an existing product, remove existing unit from its location and disconnect the wiring. Ensure that the wall (back) box has a minimum depth of 25mm.
3). Certain items in the range will not t into a 4-lug box. If such a box has been previously installed the North-South lugs should be removed or bent back to avoid contact with the new product.
4). Connect the wires as shown in appropriate wiring diagrams. Use green/yellow sleeving on any earth conductors not insulated. Ensure terminals are properly tightened and no bare wire is visible. When mounting products into mounting boxes make sure conductors are not trapped.
5). When screwing the unit to the mounting box, do not over tighten xing screws. Fixing screws are supplied with this product.
6). To reduce the risk of discolouration or tarnishing, avoid installation on wet plaster.
7). Products must be installed in accordance with the latest Building and IEE wiring regulations. If in any doubt, please contact a qualied electrician.
Installation Guide
1. Turn o mains electrical supply.
2. Ensure that the wall (back) box has a minimum depth of 25mm.
3. Remove the existing socket and disconnect the wiring.
4. Gently remove plate by inserting a at screwdriver into the slots/s of the plate and lift away from the unit.
Max: 8mm Min: 13mm
4. Connect the wiring as per the diagrams below, making sure all wires are fully inserted into the terminals and fully tightened.
NOTE: Bare each individual wire approximately 8-13mm, and then screw in tightly into the terminals.
Additional slave units (maximum of 6 in line) will allow for 2-way / multi-way operation (units can only be operated manually).
5. Gently screw the socket into the wall (back) box, making sure that the plastic spacers are correctly aligned and that no wires are trapped between the socket and the back of the wall box.
6. Replace the plate – a ‘click’ sound should be heard to signify that the plate has been correctly replaced.
SETUP:
Pairing with handheld Remote transmitters
Each socket can pair with up to 6 dierent remote transmitters at any one time as it has a maximum of 6 memories.
NOTE: If the RF range between the transmitter and receiver is too great to achieve reliable operation, the LightwaveRF SIGNAL BOOSTER may be used in conjunction with this product to increase the signal strength over greater distances.
Pairing using LEARNING MODE:
1. Ensure the socket is connected the amber LED will be illuminated.
2. Press and hold down the ‘MANUAL’ button on the socket to be paired, until the blue and amber LEDs ash alternately (this refers to either the left OR the right socket depending on which of the ‘MANUAL’ buttons was pressed). The socket is now in learning mode.
3. Using a LightwaveRF Connect Remote press one of the ‘ON’ buttons; the blue light on the socket will ash to conrm that the remote is now paired.
NOTE: Learning Mode lasts for 6 seconds; if no signal is received from a remote handset during this time then the socket will automatically exit learning mode without pairing the device.
If, when expecting a blue LED ash to conrm pairing, amber ash is received instead, then this means that the socket memory is FULL and no further remotes may be paired with it unless one of the existing remotes is rst unpaired (see below).
Unpairing Remotes & clearing the Socket memory
Removing single Device:
1. Ensure the socket is connected, the amber LED will be illuminated.
2. Press and hold down the ‘MANUAL’ button on the socket until the blue and amber LEDs ash alternately. The socket is now in learning mode.
3. Using a LightwaveRF Connect Remote press one of the ‘OFF’ buttons; the amber light on the socket will ash to conrm that the remote is now unpaired.
Clearing Memory (will remove all paired remotes):
1. Ensure the socket is connected and ready with a mains power line and load.
2. Press and hold down the ‘MANUAL’ button on the socket until the blue and amber LEDs ash alternately. The socket is now in learning mode.
3. On the socket press and hold down the ‘MANUAL’ button again until the blue and amber LEDs ash simultaneously, then press (don’t hold) the ‘MANUAL’ button a further time; the amber LED will ash conrm that the memory has been cleared.
