Other features of the TL-3216 include: Grand master fader, split dipless crossfader, momentary "bump" butt ons, and blackout control. Both 23 step chases may be activated simultaneously for com plex patt er ns. Chase rat e is set by tapping the rate but ton at the desired rate. The TL-3216 al so offers the ability to link with a second T L- 3216 c onsol e or a TL-1608 console for inc r eased capacity using a single mul tiplex control cable.

The TL-3216 control console should be kept away from moisture and direct sources of heat. Connect the unit t o a Lightronics (or compatible) dimmer usi ng a m ultiplex control cable with 3 pin XLR connect or s.
The TL-3216 is powered by the dim m er whic h i t is connect ed to. It may also be powered via an optional exter nal power supply. The unit will operate with dimmers in both the NSI/SUNN and Lightronics modes. All dimm er s connected to the unit M UST be in the SA ME mode.
To reset chases to the factory programmed defaults: Rem ov e power fr om the unit. Hold down the CHASE 1 and CHASE 2 buttons. Apply power to the unit while holding these buttons down. Continue to hold down the buttons f or approxim ately 5 seconds then r elease.
To reset scenes to the factory programmed defaults: Rem ov e power fr om the unit. Hold down the RECORD button. Apply power to the unit while holding this button down. Conti nue to hold down the button for approximately 5 seconds then release.
You should check the addr ess sett ings of the dimmers before pr oceeding with TL-3216 operati on.

The TL-3216 is capable of operating in three differ ent modes. The upper 16 faders always control t he lev el of channels 1 through 16. P r essing t he " Y MODE” butt on c hanges the function of the lower 16 faders. The selected mode is indicat ed by the m ode LE Ds.

The three Y operating modes are:

"CH 1-16" In this mode both the upper and lower rows of fader s control channels 1 through 16.
The cross fader is used to fade bet ween the upper and lower faders.

"CH 17-32" In this mode the lower faders become channels 17 thr ough 32.

"SCENE 1-16" In this mode the lower 16 f ader s become r ec or dable scenes.

CROSS FADER: The cross fader provides the ability to f ade between the upper (X) faders and the lower
(Y) faders. The cross f ader is split into two parts giving you the ability to control the level
of the upper and lower groups of faders individually. In all modes, the "X" cross fader
must be up to activate t he upper faders and the "Y" cross fader must be down
activate the lower faders. MASTER: The master lev el fader c ontrols the output level of all func tions of the console. BUMP BUTTONS: These momentary butt ons activate channels 1 through 16 whil e pr essed. The m aster
fader determines the level of channels activated by the bump buttons. CHASE 1 & 2 BUTTONS: Press to select chase patterns. Chase LEDs will light when a chase is active. CHASE RATE BUTTON: Press 3 or more times at the desired rate to set chase speed. Chase rate LED
will flash at the sel ec ted rate.
BLACKOUT BUTTON: Pressing the blackout butt on c auses all channels, scenes and chases to go to
zero intensity . The blackout LED will light whenever the console is in blackout mode.

RECORD BUTTON: Press to record scene s and chase patterns. Record LED will light when in
record mode.

1) Press the "RECORD" button, the record LED will flash.
2) Press the "CHASE 1" or "CHASE 2" button to select a chase to record.
3) Bring the channel(s) you want to be on in this step to full.
4) Press "RECORD" to move to the next step.
5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all steps are rec or ded ( up to 23 steps).
6) Press the "CHASE 1" or "CHASE 2" button to stop recording.

1) Press the "RATE" button 3 or more times at the desired rate to set the chase speed.
2) Press "CHASE 1" and/or "CHASE 2" to turn chases on and off. Note: Both chases may be on at the same time. If chases have a different number of steps, c omplex, changing
patterns can be creat ed.

1) Choose either oper ating mode and create the scene to be recor ded.
2) Press "RECORD".
3) Press the bump butt on below the f ader y ou wish to record the scene to. Note: Scenes may be recorded even if blackout is on or the master fader i s down. Scenes m ay incl ude other scenes
if recorded whil e in the "S CE NE 1-16" mode. This allows you to copy from one scene to another to move it or create modified versions.

1) Select the "SCENE 1- 16" mode.
2) Bring up a fader on the lower row that has had a scene recorded to it. Note: The "Y" cross fader m ust be down to use lower faders.

TROUBLESHOOTING Check that the multi plex cable is not defective. To simplify troubleshooting - reset the unit to provide a known set of conditions. Make sure that the dimmer address switches are set to the desir ed c hannels.
OWNER MAINTENANCE The best way to prolong t he life of your TL-3216 is to keep it dry, cool, clean and c ov er ed when not in use. The unit exteri or may be cleaned usi ng a soft cloth dampened with a mil d detergent/water mixture or a mild spray- on
type cleaner. DO NOT SPRAY ANY LIQUID dir ec tly on the unit. DO NOT IMMERSE the unit in any liquid or allow liquid to get int o the c ontrols. DO NOT USE any solvent based or abrasive cleaners on the unit.
There are no user serviceable parts in the unit. Service by other than Lightronics authori z ed agents will void your warranty.
