The FXLE17C4N is rated IP20 and is intended for
INDOOR USE ONLY.
Locate the unit in a well ventilated area away from
moisture or heat. Maintain a minim um spacing of 20"
between the unit and other objects. The maximum
ambient operating tem perature is 45ºC (113ºF). Kee p
the vent holes clear . Holes are pro vided on the yokes
to install a tradit ional lighting c-clamp for mounting on

POWER CONNECTIONS
DMX CONNECTIONS
A system using D MX contr ol sh ould be co nnect ed as a
chain of devices. In other words the control signal
cable should proceed from the controller to the first
receiving device and then to others in a continuous
"daisy chain" fashion.
The fixture has a DMX IN and a D MX OUT connector
to be used to connect the chain. The control cable
should NOT be split into a multiple run star
arrangement with a cable running from the controller
directly to each receiving device pack.
DMX CONNECTOR PIN ASSIGNMENTS
There are two different connectors generally used for
DMX control. They are both XLR type connectors.
Some units use 3 pin connectors. Others use 5 pin
connectors. FXLE17C4N onl y has 3 pin connections.
DMX is received on th e 3 pin MALE connector o n the
back of the unit. T he 3 pin FEMAL E connec tor is us ed
to connect to the next DMX device on the control
chain.
The table below sho ws the pin assignm ents for the 3
pin DMX cable.
The FXLE17C4N has a blue turn and lock connector
for power input. A compat ible power cable is provided
for connection to a 120 V AC, 15 Am p, 60Hz, ground ed
service. Push the blue co nnector on the c able straight
into the blue connector on the unit and twist approx.
1/8 turn clockwise to latch it.

DMX TERMINA TION
It is recommended that a DMX data chain be
terminated at the last receiving device on the chain.
This is done by installing a commonly available 1/4
Watt, 120 Ohm res istor across the DATA - and DATA
+ wires at the last device. If you have only a few
fixtures installed very close together and with a short
run of DMX cable to the controller then you may be
able to operate without the terminator .
OPERATION
A power ON/OFF switch is located at the rear of the
unit. A display and user interface is located on the
back of the unit. This interface is used to set the
operating options and s ettings. It consists of an LED
display and four buttons (ESC, ENTER, DOWN, and
UP).
PERFORM MODE (Perform 00X)
The perform mode selects different preset colors and
intensities. DMX contro l c a n be res tor e d b y setti ng th i s
option to 000.
MASTER FUNCTION
The master function can be turned off or on. When on
units further down the DMX chain will respond the
same way as the Master unit as long as this setting is
off in the slave units.
AUDIO FUNCTION
The audio function will cycle through colors to sync
with the beat from any audio.
RESET FUNCTION
This function is not supported at this time.
Use UP and DOWN to scroll through the available
choices. Push ENTER when you reach the option you
want to check or set. T he c urrent s etting for t he op tion
will be shown. Use U P an d DOWN until you reac h the
desired setting or menu then push ENTER to invoke
the new setting. Use ESC to exit from the sub menus.
DMX OPERATION
Use the Address menu to set the unit DMX starting
address. The range is 001 - 511. Due to the unit
being a 9 channel fixture the unit will not function
properly if address is set above 502.
The fixture uses 9 DMX c hanne ls all ocate d per ta ble in
back of manual.
