DESCRIPTION
The FXLD127FR5I is a RG BW A LED lighting fixt ure. It
is suitable for stage, h ouses of worship, enterta inment
venues, a nd other artistic applications. It has several
stand-alone control modes and can operate via a
DMX512 external signal.
A double yoke enables the fixture to be operated in
several positions.
INSTALLATION
LOCATION
Locate the unit indoors in a well ventilated area aw ay
from moisture and heat. Keep the vent holes clear.
Holes are provided on the y okes to install a lighting bar
pipe clamp. Use a safety cable when hanging the
fixture.
POWER CONNECTIONS
mating white connector is also provided.
THE LINE CORD IS RATED FOR 7 AMPS MAXIMUM.
THE SAFETY GROUND TERMINAL ON THE PO WER
CABLE MUST BE USED.
DMX CONNECTIONS
A system using D MX contr ol sh ould be co nnect ed as a
chain of devices. In other words, the control signal
cable should proceed from the controller to the first
receiving device and the n to others in one continuous
chain.
The fixture has a DMX IN and a D MX OUT connector
to be used to connect the chain. The control cable
should NOT be split into a multiple run star
arrangement with a cable running from the controller
directly to each receiving device.
DMX CONNECTOR PIN ASSIGNMENTS
The FXLD127FR5I uses 3 pin XLR type connectors.
DMX is received on the 3 pin MALE conn ector on the
back of the unit. T he 3 pin FEM ALE c onnect or is used
to connect to the next DMX device on the control
chain. The table be low shows the pin assignments for
the 3 pin DMX cable.
The FXLD127FR5I has a blue tur n and lock connector
for power input. A comp atible power cable is provided
for connection to a 120 V AC, 15 Amp, 60Hz, ground ed
service. Push the blue co nnector on the c able straigh t
into the blue connector on the unit and twist approx.
1/8 turn clockwise to latch it.
The white turn and lock connector on the unit is used
to pass power on to another FXLD127FR5I un it. A

DMX TERMINATION
A DMX chain shoul d be t erminated at the las t rec e iv ing

commonly available 1/ 4 Watt, 1 20 Ohm res istor acros s

the DATA - and DAT A + wi r es at t he las t dev ice. I f you
have only a few fixtures very close together and a ver y
short run to the controller, then you may be able to
operate without the terminator.
OPERATION
A control panel on the back of the unit is used to set
the operating options. It consists of an LED display
and four buttons (MENU, UP, DOWN, and ENTER).
Push MENU to access the operating options. When
you reach the option you want to set or change, press
ENTER and use UP or DOWN to set a value. Push
ENTER to save your c hanges and activate the option.
See the "MENU NAVIGAT ION" diagram for additional
details.
The fan on the unit will turn on when temp erature is at
or above 45° C and will turn back off at or below 34° C.
There are 7 operation modes: DM X 5 channel, DMX 9
channel, Color Fade, Color Change, Color Select,
Manual Level (6 selections), and Demo.
DMX OPERATION
For DMX operation, the FXLD127FR5I fixture can be
configured as a 5 channel or 9 channel unit. Use the
dXXX (5 c h) or AXXX (9 ch) menu to set the start ing
address of the unit. You can select the starting
address of the unit with the UP and DOWN buttons.
Detailed information on DMX channel operation is
given in the tables DMX VALUES AND FUNCTIO NS.
The unit has an LED on the menu display (decimal
point). If the LED is flashing, the unit is NOT receiving
signal either from a DMX controller or from a master
fixture. The LED will disappear once a valid signal is
present.
MANUAL OPERATION
Color Fade (CFXX)
The Color Fade mode cycles smoothly through a
sequence of colors. Use the CFXX menu to set the

speed and activate the opti on. The r ange is from 00 to
99 with 99 as the fastest.
Color Change (CCXX)
The Color Change mode switches continuously
through a sequence of c olors . Use the CCXX menu to
set the sequence spee d. The range is from 00 to 99
with 99 as the fastest.
Color Select (CSXX)
The C olor Select mode pro vides a mult iple of colors at
various intensities. Use the CSXX menu to set the
desired color. Select color options from 00-99.
R, G, B, W, A Manual Level Control
You can operate individua l color levels manually us ing
the r000, G000, b000, E000, and Y000 menus. Use
the UP and DOWN buttons to change the level, then
push ENTER w hen done. The range is 000 - 255, with
255 as the maximum.
Demo Mode (dENo)
The unit cycles through a fixed series of color and
fades. There are no ot her adjustments or settings in
this mode.
Sound Mode (SOUN)
The unit reacts to sounds by changing colors
randomly. There are no other settings within this mode.
Sound mode can be ac tivated in 9 channel mode wit h
DMX channel 9 set to 240-255. Intensity is controlled
with DMX channel 1 (0-255).
Dimmer Delay (dEL0)
This operation of this function has been discontinued.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Check that you have power applied to the unit.
Check the DMX control cable.
Check the address settings of the unit and the
controller.

CLEANING
Do not use harsh chemica ls or solvents when cleaning
the fixture. A mild de tergent can be used sparingly if
needed. Use a cloth, do not spray or apply directly to
fixture. Ensure the unit is completely dry before re-use.
REPAIR
The FXLD127FR5I does not contain any user
serviceable parts. Internal service on the unit by oth er
than Lightronics authorized agents will void the
warranty.
