Model LI-125
LI
SERIES
General Description
The model LI-125 is designed specifically to facilitate communications between the Cerberus XL-3 Addressable Fire Alarm System and peripheral devices such as CRT monitors
and printers. The LI-125 provides selectable answer-back codes so that the Fire Alarm
System can supervise the data loop. When used in a CRT/Keyboard and printer combination, full system control can be obtained allowing for replacement of the standard RC-119
printer. Note: when multiple terminals are connected, ONLY ONE may provide the answerback codes.
With the answer-back codes disabled, the LI-125 provides a means to connect a CRT monitor on a loop with an existing RC-119 printer.
The LI-125 supports a serial output for connection to any Wyse 50 compatible monitor and
a parallel output for connection to any IBM compatible printer. The unit features DIP switch
selectable supervision of its peripherals. When enabled, the connected device(s) must be
fully operational and ready for data, or a “loop trouble” will be generated at the XL-3 control
panel. Diagnostic indicators for power, loop, CRT, and printer status expedite troubleshooting.
Custom software traps ALL supervisory bitstream characters to allow for proper operation of
attached devices. Your CRT “Screen Saver” will be fully functional. Also, a software command causes the attached printer to empty its buffer to insure all messages are printed.

DIP Switch Designations
1. This switch is “closed” to supervise for CRT.
“Open” switch to defeat supervision.
2. “Close” switch to supervise printer.
“Open” switch to defeat supervision.
3. “Close” switch to emulate RC-119
4. “Close” switch to activate answer-back.
If answer-back is provided by other device,
then switch must be “Open.”
