1. Foreword

The MODULE1 is a generic radio receiver module for integration into various Litup products. The MODULE1 provides access to remote operation of the end products after installation. The installation of MODULE1 will per default be a factory installation. Post installation at the customer performed by Liftup product service is not an option due to regulatory rules.

It is important to read this manual before using the “MODULE1”.

This is an original user and installation manual for the “MODULE1”.

Usage:

The MODULE1 is intended for integration into Liftup products, e.g. FlexStep V2. After integration the FlexStep V2 can be operated by a Liftup remote control.

The lift, e.g. FlexStep V2 or other Liftup lifts, is a so-called “dead man operated” lift, i.e. the buttons of the associated remote control must be pressed and held during the entire motion. Also called

“Hold to run operated”. This feature is

implemented for safety reasons.

The following Product Limited Warranty gives Resellers specific legal rights. You may have others, which vary from state/jurisdiction to state/jurisdiction.

Product Limited Warranty

Subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein, Liftup A/S (“Liftup”) makes the following warranty only to its Resellers who purchase the MODULE1 hardware product (“Product”)

directly from Liftup: for a period of one (1) year from the date of shipment from Liftup, the

Product will substantially conform to Liftup’s standard published specifications for the Product

and the Product hardware will be substantially free from defects in materials and workmanship. The foregoing warranty shall not apply to embedded software/firmware components.

THIS PRODUCT LIMITED WARRANTY IS PROVIDED TO RESELLERS AND TO RESELLERS ONLY. RESELLER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES MADE TO ITS CUSTOMERS, AND LIFTUP MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND SHALL HAVE NO OBLIGATIONS OR LIABILITY TO RESELLER’S CUSTOMERS OR ENDUSERS OF THE PRODUCT. RESELLER SHALL NOT MAKE ANY REPRESENTATIONS OR

WARRANTIES ON LIFTUP’S BEHALF, AND SHALL FULLY INDEMNIFY, DEFEND AND

HOLD LIFTUP HARMLESS FROM ANY BREACH OF THE FOREGOING. IF RESELLER DISTRIBUTES PRODUCT TO END-USER CUSTOMERS, RESELLER SHALL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR PREPARING AND PROVIDING PRODUCT WARRANTIES AND PRODUCT LITERATURE TO END-USERS.

Warranty Remedies

If the Product fails during the warranty period for reasons covered by this Product Limited Warranty and Reseller notifies Liftup of such failure during the warranty period, Liftup at its

option will repair OR replace the nonconforming Product, OR refund the purchase price paid by Reseller for the Product, provided that Reseller returns the Product to Liftup in accordance

with Liftup’s standard return material authorization procedures or as otherwise instructed by

Liftup.

Warranty Exclusions and Disclaimers

The foregoing Product Limited Warranty shall only apply in the event and to the extent that (i) the Product is properly and correctly installed, configured, interfaced, maintained, stored and

operated in accordance with Liftup’s specifications, and (ii) the Product is not modified or

misused. This Product Limited Warranty shall not apply to, and Liftup shall not be responsible for, defects or performance problems resulting from: (a) the combination or utilization of the Product with hardware or software products, information, data, systems, interfaces, services or devices not made, supplied or specified by Liftup; (b) the operation of the Product under any

specifications other than, or in addition to, Liftup’s standard published specifications for the

Product; (c) the unauthorized installation, modification or use of the Product; (d) damage caused by: accident, lightning or other electrical discharge, water immersion or spray, or exposure to environmental conditions for which the Product is not intended; or (e) normal wear and tear on consumable parts, including by way of example and without limitation, batteries.

LIFTUP DOES NOT WARRANT OR GUARANTEE THE RESULTS OBTAINED THROUGH THE USE OF THE PRODUCT. THE FOREGOING TERMS OF THE PRODUCT LIMITED WARRANTY STATE LIFTUP’S ENTIRE LIABILITY, AND RESELLER’S EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES, RELATING TO THE USE AND PERFORMANCE OF THE PRODUCT EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE EXPRESSLY PROVIDED FOR IN THIS PRODUCT LIMITED WARRANTY, THE PRODUCT, ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTATION AND MATERIALS, AND/OR ANY EMBEDDED SOFTWARE/FIRMWARE AND UPDATES THERETO ARE PROVIDED “AS-IS” AND WITHOUT EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, BY EITHER LIFTUP OR ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN ITS CREATION, PRODUCTION, INSTALLATION OR DISTRIBUTION, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. LIFTUP WHICH ARISES FROM RESELLER’S USE OR DISTRIBUTION OF THE PRODUCT IN

CONNECTION WITH SUCH ENVIVRONMENTS OR APPLICATIONS. SOME STATES AND JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON DURATION OR THE EXCLUSION

OF AN IMPLIED WARRANTY, SO CERTAIN OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO EVERY RESELLER.

Embedded Software/Firmware

The Product and associated tools, if any, may contain embedded software/firmware, which is licensed, not sold, and is only for use within the Product as an integral part thereof. Such embedded software/firmware (which includes all updates thereto) contains valuable trade secrets and is proprietary to Liftup and its suppliers. To the greatest extent permitted by law, such embedded software/firmware may not be modified, copied, disassembled, decompiled or reverse engineered. Liftup reserves all other rights.

Limitation of Liability

LIFTUP’S ENTIRE LIABILITY REGARDING THE PRODUCT SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY RESELLER FOR THE PRODUCT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LIFTUP OR ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE OR LEGAL THEORY RELATING IN ANY WAY TO THE PRODUCTS, ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTATION AND MATERIALS, AND ANY EMBEDDED SOFTWARE/FIRMWARE AND UPDATES THERETO (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS,

BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF DATA OR ANY OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS), REGARDLESS OF WHETHER LIFTUP HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ANY SUCH LOSS AND REGARDLESS OF THE COURSE OF DEALING BETWEEN LIFTUP AND RESELLER. BECAUSE SOME STATES AND JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO EVERY RESELLER.

15.105 Information to the user

Class B Statement – Notice to Users. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communication. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

FCC/IC

The MODULE1 product complies with the FCC Part 15.249 and the Industry Canada requirements RSS-GEN, RSS-210.

The MODULE1 product complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules and with Industry Canada license exempt standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

(1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause

undesired operation. The MODULE1 product is SAR test excluded according to FCC KDB 447498, RSS102 and EN 62479 at separation distances larger than 5 mm and less than 50 mm.

With respect to radiofrequency radiation exposure Information, it is declared; that this module complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This gives an extra margin, since the remote control normally, only is used in “controlled environment” for approx. 30 seconds when lifting, and typically only a few times a day. The firmware setting is not accessible by the end user.

The final end product must be labelled in a visible area with the following:

ACMA (AUS/NZ)

The MODULE1 product complies with the Australian/New Zealand Radiocommunications Act 1992 for operation in the band 2400-2483 MHz by the RCM mark.

2.1 Regulatory Approvals

The MODULE1 product comply with the essential requirements of the RED Directive 2014/53/EU as stated by the EU Declaration of Conformity (CE). The MODULE1 product comply with the European Telecommunications Standards Institute Specifications EN 300 440 operating in 2.400 GHz to 2.483 GHz band for Radio Equipment and Systems.

EU/International

The MODULE1 product comply with the essential requirements of the RED Directive 2014/53/EU as stated by the EU Declaration of Conformity (CE). The MODULE1 product comply with the European Telecommunications Standards Institute Specifications EN 300 440 operating in the 2.400 GHz to 2.483 GHz band for Radio Equipment and Systems

The MODULE1 complies with the essential requirements of the 2011/65/EU directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (ROHS 2). Complies with the essential requirements of the EU 1907/2006 regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH). Complies with the requirements of the 2012/19/EU directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment and directive 2006/66/EC on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators (WEEE).

4. Installation of MODULE1 in Liftup products

For FlexStep V2

Parts: PCB 103736

The multi-cable “MODULE1 Lid for Wall Profile RH, FS2”

1. Pull the 6-pole multi-cable through the

Wall Profile RH, inside the back lane.

2. Connect the multi-cable to the con-

nection-board on the bottom rail.

3. Connect the multi-cable to MODULE1

4. Mount the “MODULE1” inside the “Lid

for Wall Profile RH, FS2”

Insert the Module in the top of the aluminium Wall Profile RH

5. Tighten the top screw.

4.1 Pairing of remote control

Pairing of the associated remote control is normally done by the dealer or the factory. Consult the end product user manual for detailed pairing instructions.

5. Disposal

In connection with disposing of the lift product, it is the duty of the owner to dispose of the MODULE1 in accordance with the regulations applicable at the time.

When disposing of this device, ensure compliance with local ordinances and regulations.

Consider contacting your dealer for assistance with disposal.

6. Right of warranty

The right of warranty is subject to the General Conditions for Supply which are presented here: https://www.liftup.dk/media/3179/general-conditions-for-supply_liftup-inc.pdf.

ATTENTION: If the prescribed service inspections are not maintained the right of warranty may be lost.

Failing to perform these inspections can also have serious consequences for product safety. It rests with the customer to ensure compliance with the prescribed service inspections at all times. Cf. Danish Working Environment Authority Executive Order 1109 §14.

The MODULE1 product contains radio transmitters that comply with CFR 47 Part 15.249 of the FCC rules and with RSS-GEN, RSS-102 and RSS-247 of Industry Canada requirements.

Statements according to CFR 47 Part 2.1091/2.1093 and OET bulletin 65/RSS- 102:

The MODULE1 and REMOTE1 products are SAR test excluded according to FCC KDB 447498, RSS102 and EN 62479 at separation distances larger than 5 mm and less than 50 mm with respect to the human body as the maximal radiated power is below the limits. The MODULE1 and REMOTE1 products are by declaration of RF Exposure Compliance for Exemption from Routine Evaluation Limits according to RSS102.

ATTESTATION:

It is attested that the radio communication apparatus meets the exemption from the routine evaluation limits in RSS102 Section 2.5 of this standard; that the Technical Brief was prepared and the information contained therein is correct; that applicable measurement methods and evaluation methodologies have been followed; and that the device meets the SAR and/or RF field strength limits of RSS-102. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.

SAR test exclusion according to EN 62479

The MODULE1 and REMOTE1 products are compliant according to EN 62479 as the output power is less than 20 mW.

AUS/NZ:

• The MODULE1 complies with the AS/NZS 4268 requirements for 2.4 GHz transceiver.
