Use the following instructions to install and operate the PowerEase® 90W Power Supply. For more information and detailed instructions, refer to the PowerEase® 90W Power Supply User Guide, available at www.lifetechnologies.com/manuals.
Note: For safety guidelines, refer to the “Safety” appendix in the PowerEase® 90W Power Supply User Guide.
Install the PowerEase® 90W Power Supply
1. Check the label located near the AC inlet to help ensure that the unit is compatible with locally provided voltage.
2. Place the PowerEase® 90W Power Supply on a level laboratory bench, in an area with proper ventilation.
3. For your safety: Position the unit properly such that the On/Off switch and the AC inlet located on the rear of the unit are easily
accessible.
4. Ensure the AC power switch is in the Off position and attach the power cord to the AC inlet of the power supply.
Note: Use only properly grounded AC outlets and power cords.
5. Plug the power supply into the appropriate electrical outlet.
6. Connect the leads from an electrophoresis unit to the power supply by inserting the positive lead (+) into the positive (red) output
jack, and the negative lead (−) into the negative (black) output jack.

Quick operation instructions
Use the following instructions to operate the PowerEase® 90W Power Supply.
1. Turn the AC power switch at the back of the power supply to the On position.
The screen displays the last set V (voltage) in large bold type on the left side of the display and TIME and AMPs in small type on the right side of the display.
2. Press Constant to toggle between Constant Voltage Mode and Constant Current Mode.
The screen displays the selected operating mode in large bold type on the left of the display.
3. Press Mode to edit the parameters of the operating mode: Volts, Hours, Minutes, and Amps.
4. While a value is flashing, you may use the directional arrow buttons (∨∧) to change the values.
The values stop flashing and the instrument exits editing mode 5seconds after the last key has been pressed.
If you set Time to 00:00, the power supply will run continuously.
5. Press Start/Pause to start electrophoresis.
The red light on the display will illuminate while power is applied to the load.
Electrophoresis stops when the timer reaches 00:00 if a time has been set.
When electrophoresis stops, the power supply beeps and the screen flashes TIME UP.
6. Press Stop to silence the beep.
