2. INTRODUCTION
2.1 Purpose of your Uninterruptible Power System
(UPS)
This Uninterruptible Power System is designed to provide a continuous supply of usable 220 Volt AC as power to computer and other electronic equipments during irregularities or failures of commercial AC power. The UPS protects against AC power line irregularities such as blackouts, sags, spikes and electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.
When commercial AC line voltage levels are acceptable, the UPS operates with very high efficiency, filters noise and spikes before the power is delivered to its load (s). Should the commercial AC experience irregularities or fail completely, the UPS supplies a continuous sine-wave AC load power by utilizing the battery-fed inverter. The UPS will supply a load of 3000/5000/6000VA UPS from its external battery bank. The UPS provides AC power protection, allowing continued operating though most commercial power disturbances and an opportunity to secure data and safely shut down systems in the event of an extended outage.
2.2 FEATURES OF THE UPS
The UPS system is designed to provide commercial AC power protection for computers, peripherals and equipment used in business, office and laboratory environments. Their performance and features have been designed to ensure the utmost in AC power protection for the load (s) as well as ease of use and unobtrusive operation. The features include :
* Detection of AC utility blackouts and sags * Spike suppression * Attractive office styling * Automatic restart after low battery shutdown * Easily accessible front panel controls * Inverter overload protection * Computer interface card * Audible alarm * Cold-start feature * Optional shutdown software support. * Built in input over voltage protection
