About these operating instructions
Congratulations on purchasing your new device.
You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instruc-
tions are part of this product. They contain important information
about the safety, usage and disposal of the product. Before
using the product, please familiarize yourself with all operating
and safety information. Use the product only as described and
for the specified range of applications. Keep these operating
instructions in a safe location. In addition, please pass these
documents on, together with the product, to any future owner.
Intended use
The wireless weather station shows you the inside and outside
temperature in degrees Fahrenheit (°F) or degrees Celsius (°C),
as well as the minimum and maximum temperatures. The inside
and outside humidity (%), as well as the minimum and maximum
values, are also shown. Further indications include recommended
ventilation time, indoor climate rating, indoor climate changes,
and a radio-controlled time display in 12- or 24-hour format.
The product is intended exclusively for private households, and
is not recommended for commercial use. Any use other than the
intended use is considered to be improper. The manufacturer
accepts no responsibility for damage caused by improper use
or repairs, unauthorized modifications, or the use of unapproved
replacement parts. The risk is borne solely by the user.

Safety instructions for batteries
Mishandling the batteries can cause fires, explosions,
leakages, or other hazards! In order to handle batteries
safely, please observe the following safety instructions:
► Do not throw the batteries into a fire and do not subject them
to high temperatures.
► Do not open, deform, or short-circuit batteries, since this can
lead to chemical leakage.
► Do not attempt to recharge the batteries. Do not charge
batteries unless they are explicitly labeled as "rechargeable".
There is a risk of explosion!
► Never heat batteries in order to revive them.
► Check the condition of the batteries at regular intervals.
Leaking chemicals can cause permanent damage to the
device. Take particular care when handling damaged or
leaking batteries. Risk of acid burns! Wear protective gloves.
► Chemicals that leak from a battery can cause skin irritation.
In the event of contact with the skin, rinse with plenty of water.
If the chemicals come into contact with your eyes, rinse them
thoroughly with water, and do not rub them. Consult a physician
immediately.
► Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Children might put
batteries into their mouth and swallow them. If a battery has
been swallowed, seek medical assistance immediately. Also,
contact your local poison control center.

► Do not mix alkaline, carbon-zinc (standard), Ni-Cd (recharge-
able) or other types of batteries.
► Use only the correct type and size of battery indicated.
► Always insert the batteries the right way (observe correct
polarity); otherwise there is a risk that they could explode.
► Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior
to battery installation.
► If you do not intend to use the device for a long time, remove
the batteries.
► Remove discharged batteries from equipment promptly to
avoid possible damage from leakage.
► Always replace the whole set of batteries at one time, taking
care not to mix old and new ones.
► If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using
the product and keep it away from children.

First use
Before use, insert a battery first into the outdoor sensor and
then into the weather station.
Requirements at the setup location
► When selecting the setup location, make sure the devices are
not exposed to direct sunlight, vibration, dust, heat, cold or
humidity.
► Do not set up the device near sources of heat, e.g. heaters.
► Mount the outdoor sensor within a maximum radius of 164 ft
to the weather station. Make sure there are no interfering ob-
stacles between the outdoor sensor and the weather station.
Otherwise, there could be transmission interference.

♦ Both the weather station and the outdoor sensor can be
hung up using the fixing lugs 9/t.
♦ Alternatively, the stands q and a of the weather station
and the outdoor sensor can be folded out for placement on
an even, level surface.
Using the outdoor sensor for the first time
♦ Open the battery compartment oon the back of the
device by sliding the battery compartment cover pin the
direction of the arrow.
♦ Insert two type AAA batteries as indicated in the battery
compartment o.
♦ Then, close the battery compartment o. The indicator LED
lights up briefly, and the current temperature, humidity and
selected channel (e.g. CH 1) are shown on the display e.
The indicator LED r then lights up once per minute, indicating wireless transmission.
Using the weather station for the first time
♦ Open the battery compartment 0on the back of the
device by removing the battery compartment cover w.
♦ Insert three type AAA batteries as indicated in the battery
compartment 0.
♦ Then, close the battery compartment 0.
After a power supply has been connected, the display lights up
and quickly checks all display elements.
The weather station will now attempt to connect to the outdoor
sensor. On the display field for outdoors 3, the reception icon
above the channel display blinks.

If no outside temperature or humidity is shown within approx.
3 minutes, the weather station stops searching for a signal. The
reception icon turns off and the display field for outdoors 3
shows and . The system likely cannot detect a signal due
to structural conditions or because the sensor is too far away.
If the device is unable to connect to the outdoor sensor automatically, you can establish a connection manually:
♦ Press and hold the control surface

The default time zone of the weather station is Eastern Standard
Time (EST). To change the time zone please refer to Basic
settings section.
If the device is unable to synchronize with the WWVB signal,
you can also set the time manually (see Basic settings section)
or you can attempt automatic reception again.

The WWVB signal
WWVB is a National Institute of Standards and Technology
(NIST) time signal radio station near Fort Collins, Colorado.
The 70 kW ERP signal transmitted from WWVB is a continuous
60 kHz carrier wave, the frequency of which is derived from
a set of atomic clocks located at the transmitter site, yielding a
frequency uncertainty of less than 1 part in one trillion.
Under ideal conditions, the weather station can receive the signal
up to a distance of approximately 2000 miles from the transmitter.
Reception of the WWVB signal normally takes between 3 and
5 minutes. If reception of the WWVB signal fails, the weather
station will stop trying to establish reception after approximately
7 minutes. Reception can be considerably restricted by obstacles
(e.g. concrete walls) or interference sources (e.g. other electronic
devices). If reception problems persist, you should change the
location of the weather station (e.g. put it by a window).

Handling and operation
Displays in basic mode
After the weather station has received the signal from the outdoor
sensor and the WWVB signal, the device enters basic mode.
In basic mode, the weather station shows the following information on the display:

Indoor climate rating
Based on the humidity value indoors, the weather station categorizes the current indoor climate into five levels:
Humidity ≥ 85%.
Humidity between 66% and 84%.
Humidity between 45% and 65%.
Humidity between 30% and 44%.
Humidity ≤ 29%.
In addition, the bar graph graphically displays
the measured humidity levels from 0, 3, 6, 9, and
12 hours ago.
Indoor climate change display 1
Using the recorded measurements (inside and outside), the
weather station calculates the change to the indoor climate that
can be expected. The symbols indicate how ventilating the room
would affect the indoor climate:
The expected increase in humidity is 5% or higher.
The expected increase or decrease in humidity is 4%
or less.
The expected decrease in humidity is 5% or higher.

Displaying the maximum/minimum
temperature/humidity
After connection to the power supply and the outdoor sensor
has been established, the maximum and minimum values for
temperature and humidity are automatically captured and stored
by the weather station.

The background lighting on the display turns off after about
5 seconds to save battery power.

Switching the channel display on the weather station
When the weather station has received the signal from the outdoor sensor, it automatically shows the corresponding channel.
However, you can also manually set the display of the different
channels.

Troubleshooting
Unable to connect to the outdoor sensor.
■ There are interfering obstacles or other sources of interference,
such as concrete walls or other wireless transmission devices
between the weather station and the outdoor sensor.
Move the device to another location and try again.
■ The outdoor sensor is too far away from the weather station.
Move the two components closer together. "Visual contact"
between the outdoor sensor and weather station often
improves transmission.
■ The batteries in the weather station or outdoor sensor are
dead.
Replace the batteries.
Synchronization with WWVB signal not possible
■ Disruptive obstacles or other interference sources, such as
concrete walls or other radio transmission devices, are
interfering with WWVB signal reception.
Change the installation location (e.g. near a window)
and try again.
■ The batteries of the weather station are dead.

Cleaning
► Ensure that no moisture penetrates into the device during
cleaning to avoid irreparable damage to the device.
► Do not use caustic, abrasive or solvent-based cleaners.
They can attack the surfaces of the device.
♦ Clean the surfaces of the device with a soft, dry cloth. For
stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth with a mild cleaning
agent.
Storage
♦ If you plan on not using the product for a long period,
remove the batteries and store it in a clean, dry place away
from direct sunlight.
Disposal
Disposal of device
Electrical devices may not be thrown away as part of normal
household trash. If you can no longer use your electrical device,
dispose of it in accordance with the legal provisions applicable
in your state. This will ensure that old electrical devices are recycled and environmental pollution is kept to a minimum.

Disposal of batteries
Some batteries contain heavy metals such as mercury, lead,
cadmium, and nickel; therefore, many communities do not allow
them to be thrown away with your regular trash. Recycling is always
the best option for disposing of used batteries.
Dry-Cell Batteries are used in a variety of electronics and include
alkaline and carbon zinc (9-volt, D, C, AA, AAA), mercuric-oxide
(button, some cylindrical and rectangular), silver-oxide and zincair (button), and lithium (9-volt, C, AA, coin, button, rechargeable)
batteries. Look for in-store recycling bins or community collection
events to dispose of these batteries.
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging materials have been selected for their
environmental friendliness and ease of disposal, and
are therefore recyclable.
Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer
needed in accordance with applicable local
regulations.
Note the marking on the different packaging materials and separate them as necessary. The packaging
materials are marked with abbreviations (a) and
numbers (b) with the following meanings:
1–7: Plastics, 20–22: Paper and cardboard,
80–98: Composites.

What does this warranty cover?
The warranty covers:
▯ Damage, breakage or inoperability due to defect.
▯ Damage not caused by normal wear and tear or failure to
follow the safety and maintenance instructions provided in
the user manual.
What is not covered by the warranty?
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
▯ Normal wear and tear of the product, including fragile parts
(such as switches, glass, etc.);
▯ Improper use or transport;
▯ Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;
▯ Accidents or acts of nature (e.g. lightning, fire, water, etc.);
▯ Tampering with the product (such as removing cover,

Consequential and incidental damages are also not covered
under this warranty. However, some states do not allow the
