These instructions for use contain important information
on installing and operating the carbon monoxide
detector. Please carefully read this leaflet before installing this product and keep for future reference.

CO DETECTOR PLACEMENT
The carbon monoxide detector was developed to detect toxic CO
gasses which are emitted from incomplete combustion in e.g. appliances, heaters, fireplaces and exhaust fumes. A single storey
house should at a minimum be protected by one detector inside
each bedroom or in the hallway to the bedrooms.
Install the detectors as close as possible to the sleeping area and
verify the alarm is audible. A multi-storey house should at a minimum
be protected by one detector per storey.

NOTE: For the best possible protection, install one detector inside
or near each room with any type of combustion device, e.g. gas
fireplace, central heating boiler, space heater or water heater,
cookers, grills, etc.
ATTENTION: This detector only indicates carbon monoxide present at the sensor. Carbon monoxide gas may also be present in
other areas.
CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS ARE NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR SMOKE OR GAS DETECTORS.
CO DETECTOR PLACEMENT
Carbon monoxide has a density similar to warm air. For best results,
install the detector at least 1.5 m above the floor and 1.85 m from
the respective appliance (Fig. D). Avoid these areas:
- Areas where the temperature may be below -10 °C or above
40 °C.
- Moist or humid areas.
- Any area where elevated levels of dust, dirt or oily emissions may
contaminate or congest the sensor.

- Behind curtains or furniture.
- Near air discharged by heaters, air conditioners or ceiling fans.
- Outdoors.
- Directly above sinks or cooking appliances.
ATTENTION: This carbon monoxide detector is only intended for
use inside the house, do not expose to rain or moisture. Will not
protect from carbon monoxide poisoning if the battery is drained.
Opening or modifying the detector may result in malfunctions.
INSTALLING THE CO DETECTOR
This CO detector is battery operated and does not require wiring.
It may be wall-mounted using the included fasteners or set on a
level surface.
For wall mounting:
- After determining the ideal location, first verify there are no electric
cables or pipes in this area.
- Mark the two mounting holes (2).
- Drill the mounting holes as marked.
- Insert the plugs into the holes.

- Screw on the bracket.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE SCREWS (3).
- Firmly insert 3xLR6 alkaline batteries in the battery compartment
at the back of the detector (4).
NOTE: For your safety, the CO detector cannot be installed with-
out the battery installed.
- Secure the detector to the mounting bracket (5).
- Push the test button at the front of the unit for 2 seconds. If the
unit is ready for use, 4 beeps will sound - and the red LED will
flash.
USING YOUR CO DETECTOR
Standard mode
If no carbon monoxide is present, the green LED will flash every
45 sec. (6), indicating your detector is operational.
Alarms
If the detector detects a dangerous CO level, an alarm will sound
and the red LED will flash. This will continue so long as the dangerous CO level is present. The alarm will stop sounding and the unit
will automatically enter standby mode.

Return to standard operation
When the carbon monoxide gas has dissipated and the unit has
been reset, the alarm will stop. The green Power LED will continue
to flash about twice a minute.
Low Battery Indicator
When the battery is low and needs to be replaced, the unit will
beep and the green LED indicator will flash (every 45 seconds) for
up to 7 days. Replace the battery promptly! NOTE- With standard
operation the battery will last at least 1 year. However, a battery
malfunction or the alarm sounding for a long time will shorten the
battery life.
TEST YOUR CO DETECTOR
We recommend testing your CO detector monthly to ensure proper
operation.

- Push the test button at the front of the unit for 2 seconds. When
operating correctly, 4 beeps will sound - and the red LED will flash.
Product malfunctions
If the unit detects an error, the yellow light will flash and the unit
will beep twice every 10 seconds.
CO DETECTOR MAINTENANCE AND CARE
- This detector will alert you to dangerous CO concentrations in
your home when maintained properly. To maintain a good operating conditions we recommend:
- Test your detector at least once a month.
- Routinely clean the detector to prevent dust deposit. A vacuum
cleaner may be used for this purpose. Particularly clean the front
cover and the sides.
- Do not use cleaners, only use a damp cloth.
- Do not paint the detector.
ATTENTION:
The CO detector should be removed and stored in a safe place
to protect it from damage when cleaning or stripping wood floors,

painting, wallpapering or using adhesive and aerosols. High concentrations of the following substances can damage the sensor
and cause frequent false alarms: methane, propane, isopropyl
butane, butane, ethylene, ethanol (alcohol), isopropanol, benzol,
toluol, ethyl acetate, hydrogen, hydrogen sulfate, and sulphur dioxide.
Aerosols, alcohol products, paint, solvents, adhesives, hairspray,
after shave, perfume and certain cleaners may also cause damage.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
If the CO detector sounds a short alarm and the green LED flashes,
the battery is getting low. It should be replaced promptly. The alarm
will sound for about 7 days. A new battery has an expected life of
about one year. If the green LED does not flash once a minute,
please replace the battery.
- Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
- Press the test button to discharge the remaining voltage.
- Install new batteries (3x LR6 1.5V alkaline).
PLEASE NOTE THE POLARITY.
- First allow the detector to warm up for 2 minutes.
- Test your CO detector per section „TEST YOUR CO DETECTOR“.

- Reinstall the CO detector in the mounting bracket.
- Replace the battery annually.
HOW TO RESPOND TO AN ALARM
In the event of a CO alarm:
- Immediately move to fresh air, go outside or open all windows
and doors to air out the area and wait for the carbon monoxide
to dissipate.
- If possible, switch off any type of burner.
- Evacuate the building.
- Do not enter the building again or do not move away from the
window or door until first responders have arrived, the rooms
have been aired out and your detector has returned to normal
mode.
- Immediately seek medical attention for all persons experiencing
headaches, drowsiness or nausea, etc.
- Do not use the respective appliances until they have been inspected
by a qualified service agent and the malfunction has been identified and corrected.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICES
Installing a CO detector is the first step to creating a safe environment. Verify you and all other members of your household are
familiar with the use and functionality of the CO detector, as well
as signs of CO poisoning and know how to operate the unit:
- Test the CO detector monthly.
- Promptly replace drained batteries.
- Only purchase certified burners.
- Install burners correctly and follow the manufacturer instructions
precisely.
- Have installation carried out by a professional.
- Routinely have appliances professionally inspected.
- Have fireplaces and flues cleaned annually.
- Routinely check all combustion units.
- Verify your system has no rust or damaged areas.
- Never grill inside the house or garage.
- When using a fireplace or a multi burner, ensure adequate
ventilation.
- Always watch for signs of CO poisoning.

NEVER:
- NEVER burn charcoal in closed spaces, caravans and cars, tents
or cabins.
- NEVER repair, test or install furnaces if you to not have the exper-
tise and skills required for installation.
- NEVER use gas stoves, ovens, hair dryers or tumble dryers as
heaters.
- NEVER use furnaces in unventilated, closed spaces.
- NEVER use petrol or diesel furnaces inside the home or in enclosed
spaces.
- NEVER ignore the safety shut-off on devices.
- NEVER ignore a CO alarm.
INFORMATION ABOUT
CARBON MONOXIDE
Carbon monoxide can not be seen, smelled or tasted but it can be
deadly. The accumulation of carbon monoxide in the blood is
called the carboxyhaemoglobin level and it impairs the body‘s
ability to provide itself with oxygen. Depending on the concentration of carbon monoxide, it can be deadly in minutes. Most carbon
monoxide sources are faulty gas devices for heating and cooking,

vehicles parked in a garage with the engine running, blocked
chimneys or smoke flues, portable gas-operated heaters, open
fireplaces, fuel burning tools and grills in closed spaces. Signs of
carbon monoxide poisoning are similar to the symptoms of flu but
without a fever. Other symptoms include dizziness, tiredness, weakness, headaches, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness and confusion.
Everyone is at risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, but experts
agree that unborn babies, young children, pregnant women, the
elderly and people with heart or breathing problems have the
highest risk for serious damage or death, have your heating system,
vents, chimneys and flues inspected and cleaned by a qualified
technician every year.
The following symptoms are associated with CARBON MONOXIDE
POISONING and should be made known to ALL residents.
1. Mild symptoms
* Mild headaches, nausea, vomiting, tiredness (often described
as „flu-like symptoms“).
2. Moderate symptoms
* Strong, throbbing headache, drowsiness, quicker heart rate.
3. Serious symptoms
* Loss of consciousness, heart and lung failure, death.

The above values apply to healthy adults. The values are different
for people with a high risk. Exposure to high levels of carbon monoxide can be deadly or cause long term damage and disability. In
many cases of carbon monoxide poisoning it has become clear
that the victim notices that they do not feel well but they become
so disorientated that they cannot help themselves by either leaving
the building or getting help. Young children and pets may be affected first. It is important to familiarise yourself with the various
types of symptoms.
* This product is not designed for use in a motor
home or a caravan.
* The alarm should be installed by an expert. This
device was developed to protect people against
the acute consequences of carbon monoxide exposure. It will not fully protect people with certain
medical restrictions. If in doubt, please consult a
doctor immediately.

guidelines. The warranty is enclosed within the packaging. This is
valid from the date of the purchase (a receipt is necessary under

DISPOSAL
Correct disposal of this product (electronic waste) (Applies to EU
countries and other European countries with a separate collection
system)

The symbol on the product and the literature accompanying
it specifies that after its normal life it must not be disposed
of in normal household waste. Please dispose of the device
separately from other waste to avoid harming the environment and
human health through uncontrolled waste disposal. Recycle the
device to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources.
Private users should contact the trader where the product was bought
or the relevant authorities to find out how to recycle the device in
an environmentally friendly way. Commercial users should consult
their supplier and the conditions of the sales contract. This product
is not to be disposed of with commercial waste.
* Always dispose of empty batteries in the
battery recycling container.
* If the batteries are in the device, open the
device and remove the batteries.
MAINTENANCE
The device does not require maintenance so please do
not open it. Your warranty is invalidated if you open the
device. Clean the outside of the device with a soft, dry

cloth or brush. Before cleaning please disconnect all power supply.
Do not use cleaning products, which contain carbonic acid, petrol,
alcohol or similar substances. These substances corrode the surface
of the device and their evaporations are damaging to health and
explosive. Do not use sharp-edged tools, screwdrivers, wire brushes
or similar items to clean the device. Warning: Protect the batteries
from fire, overly high heat and sunshine.
GENERAL SAFETY
* Use a dry, clean cloth or brush to clean the device. Do not use
any scouring agents or solvents. Avoid getting any electric parts
damp.
* Keep all parts out of the reach of children.
* Avoid damp, cold or hot environments, these can damage the
electronic circuitry of the device.
* Avoid allowing the device to fall or tremor, this can damage the
electronic circuitry of the device.
* Repairing or opening this product may only be performed by an
authorised repair shop.
* Wireless systems can be caused to malfunction due to cordless
telephones, microwaves and other wireless devices in the 2.4 GHz

during installation and operation.
* Keep the batteries out of the reach of children. Do not swallow
the batteries. If a cell or battery is swallowed, call a doctor im-

POSITIONNEMENT DU
DÉTECTEUR-AVERTISSEUR DE CO
Le détecteur-avertisseur de monoxyde de carbone a été développé
pour détecter les gaz toxiques à base de CO pouvant résulter d’une
combustion incomplète se produisant, par exemple, dans les appareils ménagers, les appareils de chauffage, les cheminées et les
échappements d’automobiles. Dans une maison à un étage, les
mesures de protection minimales consistent en un avertisseur placé
dans les chambres à coucher ou dans le couloir menant aux
chambres à coucher.
Installez-les le plus près possible des zones de couchage et assurez-vous que l’alarme peut y être entendue. Dans une maison à
plusieurs étages, les mesures de protection minimales consistent en
au moins un avertisseur placé à chaque étage.
REMARQUE : Pour une protection optimale, un avertisseur devrait
être installé dans ou près de chaque pièce Dans laquelle se trouve
des brûleurs de tout type comme les radiateurs à gaz, les chaudières,
