Your safety and the safety of others is very important. There are many important safety messages in this manual and on your appliance. Always read and obey all safety messages.

This is the safety alert symbol. This symbol alerts you to potential hazards that can result in property damage and /or serious bodily harm or death.

All safety messages will follow the safety alert symbol and either the word DANGER, WARNING or CAUTION. These words mean:

y Do not wash articles that have been previously cleaned in, washed in, soaked in, or spotted with gaso-

line, dry cleaning solvents, or other flammable or explosive substances, as they give off vapors that

could ignite or explode.

y Do not add gasoline, dry cleaning solvents, or other flammable or explosive substances to the wash

water. These substances give off vapors that could ignite or explode.

y Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a hot water system that has not been used

for 2 weeks or more. HYDROGEN GAS IS EXPLOSIVE. If the hot water system has not been used for

such a period, before using the washer, turn on all hot water faucets and let the water flow from each for several minutes. This will release any accumulated hydrogen gas. As the gas is flammable, do not smoke or use an open flame during this time.

y Do not allow children to play on or in the washer. Close supervision of children is necessary when the

washer is used near children. A child might become trapped inside the washer and suffocate.

y Before the washer is removed from service or discarded, remove the lid to prevent children from

climbing inside.

y Do not install or store the washer where it will be exposed to the weather or freezing temperatures.

y Do not tamper with controls.

y Keep the area underneath and around your appliances free of combustible materials (lint, paper, rags,

etc.), gasoline, chemicals and other flammable vapors and liquids.

y Service must be performed by a qualified service technician. Do not disassemble the washer.

For your safety, the information in this manual must be followed to minimize the risk of fire, explosion or electric shock, or to prevent property damage, injury to persons, or death.

GROUNDING REQUIREMENTS

This appliance must be grounded. In the event of malfunction or breakdown, grounding will reduce the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for electric current. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or servicer if you are in doubt as to whether the appliance is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the appliance. If it does not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. Failure to follow these warnings can cause serious injury, fire, electric shock, or death.

y ALWAYS follow the fabric care instructions supplied by the garment manufacturer.

y Packaging material can be dangerous for children. There is a risk of suffocation! Keep all packaging from

children.

y Always check the inside of the washer for foreign objects before loading laundry. Keep the lid closed

when not in use.

y Do not reach into the appliance if the tub or agitator is moving.

y In the event of a gas leak(such as propane gas, LP gas, etc.), ventilate the area immediately. Do not turn

any appliance or light on or off. Do not use a ventilating fan. A spark may result in an explosion or fire.

y Unplug the washer before cleaning to avoid the risk of electric shock. y Never use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents to clean the washer. They will damage the

finish.

y Do not put oily or greasy rags or clothing on top of the washer. These substances give off vapors that

could ignite the materials.

y Do not wash items that are soiled with vegetable or cooking oil. These items may contain some oil after

laundering. Due to the remaining oil, the fabric may smoke or catch fire by itself.

y Disconnect this appliance from the power supply before attempting any user maintenance. Turning the

controls to the OFF position does not disconnect this appliance from the power supply. Failure to follow

CHOOSE THE PROPER LOCATION

POWER OUTLET

y The power outlet must be within 60 in. (1.5 m) of

either side of the washer. y The appliance and outlet must be positioned so

that the plug is easily accessible. y Do not overload the outlet with more than one ap-

pliance. y The outlet must be grounded in accordance with

current wiring electric codes and regulations. y Time -delay fuse or circuit breaker is recommended.

NOTE: It is the personal responsibility and obligation of the product owner to have a proper outlet installed by a qualified service technician.

FLOORING

y To minimize noise and vibration, the washer MUST

be installed on a solidly constructed floor. y Allowable slope under the entire washer is a maxi-

mum 1 inch. difference from side to side or from

front to back. y Installing on carpeting and soft tile surfaces is not

recommended. y Never install the washer on a platform or weakly sup-

ported structure.

To ensure sufficient clearance for water lines and airflow, allow minimum clearances of at least 1 in. (2.5 cm) at the sides and 4 in. (10 cm) behind the unit. Be sure to allow for wall, door, or floor moldings that may increase the required clearances.

Minimum vertical space from floor to overhead shelves, cabinets, ceilings, etc., is 56 in.

y The washer is heavy. Two or more people

are required when moving and unpacking the washer. Failure to do so may result in damage

to property or serious bodily harm.

y Store and install the washer where it will not

be exposed to temperatures below freezing or exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Failure to follow this warning can cause serious injury, fire, electric shock, or death.

y Properly ground the washer to conform with

all electric governing codes and ordinances.

UNPACKING AND REMOVING SHIPPING MATERIAL

1. After removing the carton and shipping material, lift the washer off the foam base. Make sure the plastic tub support comes off with the base and is not stuck to the bottom of the washer.

If you must lay the washer down to remove the base packaging materials, always protect the side of the washer and lay it carefully on its side. DO NOT lay the washer on its front or back.

2. Save the foam block (that contains the Owner’s Manual, parts and laundry product samples) for future use. If the washer must be moved in the future, the foam block will help prevent damage to the washer during transportation.

NOTE: To prevent damage, do not remove the foam block until the washer is at the final loca- tion.

3. Unfasten the power cord from the back of the

washer.

CONNECTING THE WATER LINES

y LG recommends the use of LG hoses. Any leak-

ing, property damage, or damage to the washing machine caused by an improper installation or by the use of non-LG hoses is not covered under the terms of the LG warranty and is the sole responsibility of the customer and/or an installer.

y Water supply pressure must be between 20 psi and

120 psi (138~827 kPa). If the water supply pressure is more than 120 psi, a pressure reducing valve must be installed.

y Periodically check the hose for cracks, leaks, and

wear, and replace the hose if necessary.

y Make sure that the water lines are not stretched,

pinched, crushed, or kinked.

y The washer should never be installed or stored in a

location subject to freezing temperatures. Damage to the water lines and internal mechanisms of the washer can result. If the washer was exposed to freezing temperatures prior to installation, allow it to stand at room temperature for several hours before use and check for leaks prior to operation.

NOTE: Do not use flood-preventing hoses with auto shutoff devices. The devices can be tripped during fill and prevent the machine from filling properly.

1. Inspect the threaded fitting on each hose and make sure there is a rubber seal in place in both ends of each hose.

2. Connect the water supply hoses to the HOT and COLD water faucets tightly by hand and then tighten another 2/3 turn with pliers.

3. Always run a gallon or two of water through each inlet hose to flush dirt, scale and other debris out of the water lines. Doing so will help prevent future problems with clogged filter screens, and will also allow you to verify which water line is hot and which is cold.

4. Attach the hot water line to the hot water inlet on the back of the washer. Attach the cold water line to the cold water inlet on the back of the washer. Tighten the fittings securely. Turn ON both fau cets all the way and check for leaks at both ends of the hoses.

NOTE: Be careful not to cross-thread the hose fittings. This will damage the valve and could result in property damage from leaks.

CONNECTING THE DRAIN HOSE

y The drain hose should always be properly secured.

Failure to properly secure the drain hose can result in flooding and property damage.

y The drain must be installed in accordance with any

applicable local codes and regulations.

y Make sure that the drain hose is not stretched,

pinched, crushed, or kinked.

OPTION 1: STANDPIPE

Bend the outlet end of the drain hose to form a U shape. Insert the end of the drain hose into the drain. If the drain is large enough for the flange on the hose to fit inside, then do not inser t the flange more than 1-2 inches into the drain. Use the tie strap included with the installation materials in the foam block in the tub to secure the drain hose to the drain.

If the water valves and drain are built into the wall,

fasten the drain hose to one of the water hoses with the tie strap (ribbed side on inside).

If your drain is a standpipe, fasten the drain hose to the standpipe with the tie strap provided.

NOTE:

y Normal height of the end of the hose should be ap-

proximately 35”~47” (0.9~1.2 m) from the floor.

y Do not install the end of the drain hose lower than

29 in. (73.7 cm) or higher than 96 in. (243.8 cm) above the bottom of the washer or more than 60 in. (152.4 cm) away from the washer.

y Never create an airtight seal between the hose

and the drain with tape or other means. If no air gap is present, water can be siphoned out of the tub resulting in poor wash/rinse performance or clothing damage.

OPTION 2: LAUNDRY TUB

Bend the end of the drain hose to the desired shape and suppor t it on the edge of the laundry tub. Use the tie strap to secure the drain hose in place.

NOTE:

y Do not use this drain hose with a floor drain. The

end of the drain hose must be at least 29 inches above the floor for proper draining to occur.

LEVELING THE WASHER

The tub of your new washer spins at very high speeds. To minimize vibration, noise, and movement, the floor must be a level, solid surface.

NOTE:

• Adjust the leveling feet only as far as necessary to level the washer. Extending the leveling feet more than necessary can cause the washer to vibrate.

• Before installing the washer, make sure that the floor is clean, dry and free of dust, dirt, water and oil so the washer feet cannot slide easily. Leveling feet that move or slide on the floor can contribute to excessive vibration and noise due to poor contact with the floor.

All four leveling feet must rest solidly on the floor. Attempt to rock the washer from corner to corner to make sure that all four leveling feet are in firm contact with the floor.

1. Position the washer in its final location, taking spe-

cial care not to pinch, strain, or crush the water and drain lines. Place a level across the top of the washer.

2. Adjust the leveling feet. Turn clockwise to raise

the washer or counterclockwise to lower it.

3. To make sure that the washer is properly level,

open the lid and look from above to see if the tub is centered. If the tub is NOT centered (as shown in the drawing with the X through it), readjust the front feet. If you have a level, check your washer with the level.

y To check if the washer is level from side to side,

place a level on the back edge of the lid.

y To check if the washer is level front to back, place

a level at the side of the washer on the edge where

the cabinet side meets the top cover. Do not place the level on the top of the lid. Using these surfaces will result in the washer being unlevel.

If you raise the leveling feet unnecessarily, it may cause abnormal vibration of the washing machine.

SORTING WASH LOADS

GROUPING SIMILAR ITEMS

For the best washing results, and to reduce the possibility of damage to clothing, care should be taken to sort the clothing into loads that are made up of similar items.

Mixing different fabric types and/or soil levels can result in poor wash performance, color transfer, discoloration, fabric damage or linting. Fabrics should be sorted into groups as described below.

COLORS

Sort articles by color. Wash dark clothes together in a separate load from light colors or whites. Mixing dark clothes with light clothes can result in dye transfer or discoloration of the lighter clothes.

SOIL LEVEL

Wash heavily soiled clothing together. Washing lightly soiled clothing in the same load with heavily soiled clothing could result in poor wash performance for the lightly soiled clothing.

FABRIC TYPE

Delicate articles should not be mixed with heavier or sturdier fabric types. Washing heavier fabrics in a delicate load can result in poor wash performance for the heavier fabrics and possible damage to the delicates.

LINT TYPE

Some fabrics attract and bind lint to them while others give off lint in the laundry process. Avoid mixing these lint collectors and lint producers in the same load. Mixing these fabrics will result in pilling and linting on the lint collectors. (For example, lint collector – knit sweater; lint producer – terry cloth towels.)

This compar tment holds liquid fabric softener, which is automatically dispensed during the final rinse cycle.

Never exceed the manufacturer’s recommendations when adding softener. Using too much fabric softener can result in damage to clothing and the washer. Either powdered or liquid fabric softener.

DETERGENT AND DISPENSER USE

A WORD ABOUT DETERGENTS

High- Efficiency (HE) detergents produce fewer suds, dissolve more efficiently to improve washing and rinsing performance, and help to keep the interior of your washer clean. Using detergent that is not HE may cause oversudsing and unsatisfactory performance which could result in error codes, cycle failure, and machine damage.

For proper wash performance, always measure the detergent using the measuring device provided by the detergent manufacturer.

The normal amount of HE detergent needed, for average loads, is less than ½ of the recommended maximum. Use less detergent for soft water, light soil or smaller loads. Never use more than the maximum amount recommended by the detergent manufacturer.

DESIGNED TO USE ONLY HIGH-EFFICIENCY (HE) DETERGENT

IMPORTANT: Your washing machine is designed for use with only High-Efficiency (HE) detergents. HE detergents are formulated specifically for High-Efficiency washers and contain suds-reducing agents. Always look for the HE symbol when purchasing detergent.

IMPORTANT: Not all detergents are the same. Pay careful attention to the amount of detergent used to avoid oversudsing, poor rinsing and detergent buildup in clothing, and residue buildup that can contribute to odors in the machine. NEVER use a cup or scoop other than the one supplied by the manufacturer of the detergent you are using. Never use more than the maximum amount of detergent recommended by the manufacturer. A full scoop or measure of detergent should only be used for very large and heavily soiled loads. Using too much detergent can result in detergent buildup in the washer and in your clothes.

Always measure the detergent amount. While HE detergents are designed for this type of washing machine, be careful when measuring the detergent. For most normal loads, no more than 1/4 to 1/2 a cap or scoop of HE detergent should be used.

NOTE:

y Extra care must be exercised when using 2 X and 3X

concentrated detergents because even a little bit extra can contribute to the problems mentioned above.

y Detergents designated as HE compatible may not

provide optimal results.

USING THE SOFTENER AND DETERGENT DISPENSER

To add detergent, and fabric softener to the automatic dispenser:

1. Open the dispenser drawer.

2. Load the laundry products into the appropriate compartments.

3. Close the drawer before starting the cycle.

4. If using fabric softener on NORMAL or HE AVY DUT Y cycles, press the FABRIC SOFTENER button or select the EX TR A RINSE option.

NOTE: It is normal for a small amount of water to remain in the bleach dispenser and softener com partment at the end of the cycle.

IMPORTANT: Do not place or store laundry products, such as detergent, bleach, or liquid fabric softener, on top of your washer or dryer. Wipe up any spills immediately. These products can damage the finish and controls.

USING THE LIQUID BLEACH DISPENSER

Bleach

1. Check clothing care labels for special instructions.

2. Measure liquid bleach carefully, following instructions on the bottle. High-efficiency washers use less water, so less bleach is needed. One half cup is enough for most loads.

3. Carefully pour the pre-measured amount of bleach directly into the bleach dispenser. If you are using powdered bleach of any kind, pour it directly into the tub before adding the laundry. Never add powdered bleach to the liquid bleach dispenser.

y Never pour undiluted liquid chlorine bleach directly

onto clothes or into the tub. y Do not pour powdered bleach into bleach dispenser. y Do not place laundry items on top of the bleach dis-

penser when loading and unloading the washer. y Always measure and pour bleach carefully. Avoid

overfilling or splashing when adding bleach to the

dispenser. The maximum capacity of the bleach dis-

penser is one cup of bleach per wash cycle. Overfill-

ing could result in bleach being dispensed immedi-

ately, which can result in damage to the clothes in the

washer.

CONTROL PANEL FEATURES

POWER (ON/OFF) BUTTON

Press to turn the washer ON. Press again to turn the washer OFF. Pressing the POWER button during a cycle will cancel that cycle and any load settings will be lost. The lid will unlock after a brief pause.

NOTE:

• If there is any water remaining in the tub after the washer shuts off, it will drain following five -minutes delay. The washer can be restarted any time before the draining begins. However, once the water begins to drain, all functions will be suspended until the water has been completely drained and the washer shuts off.

CYCLE SELECTOR BUTTON

Press the Cycles button repeatedly until the desired cycle is selected. Once the desired cycle has been selected, the standard presets will appear in the display. These settings can be adjusted using the cycle setting buttons any time before starting the cycle.

NOTE: To protect your clothing, not all settings are available on all cycle selections.

START/PAUSE BUTTON

Press this button to start the selected cycle. If the washer is running, use this button to pause the cycle without losing the current settings.

NOTE: If you do not press the START/PAUSE button within 60 minutes of selecting a cycle, the washer automatically turns OFF and all cycle settings are lost. And water remaining in the tub will be drain after a five minute delay.

CYCLE MODIFIER BUTTONS

Use these buttons to adjust the settings for the selected cycle. The setting lights above the buttons illuminate to show the current selection.

CYCLE STATUS INDICATOR

These LEDs will illuminate when a cycle is selected to indicate which stages will run. When a cycle is running, the LED for the active stage will blink, and the LEDs for the remaining stages will remain steady. Once a stage is complete, the LED will turn off. If a cycle is paused, the active stage LED will stop blinking.

DELAY WASH INDICATOR

The Delay Wash Indicator will illuminate when a delay wash is set. The indicator light will turn off once the cycle has started.

ESTIMATED TIME REMAINING

When a cycle is selected, the default time for that cycle is displayed. This time will change as modifiers or options are selected. Once the START/PAUSE button is pressed, the washer will measure the size of the load. The estimated time may change once the load size has been measured. If Delay Wash is set, the remaining delay time counts down until the cycle begins.

NOTE: The time shown is only an estimate. This time is based on normal operating conditions. Several external factors (load size, room temperature, incoming Water temperature, water pressure, etc.) can affect the actual time.

LID LOCK INDICATOR

The Lid Lock indicator will illuminate once a cycle has started. The indicator light will stay on until the cycle is paused, stopped or has finished.

SELECT A CYCLE

Press the Cycle Button repeatedly until the desired cycle is selected. The preset Wash Temp., Spin Speed, Soil Level, Special Care and option settings for that cycle will be shown. Pressing the Start Pause button without selecting a cycle will cause the Cotton/Normal cycle to begin immediately.

ADJUST SETTINGS

Default settings for the selected cycle can now be changed, if desired, using the cycle modifier and option buttons.

NOTE: Not all modifiers and options are available on all cycles. A different chime will sound and the LED will not come on if the selection is not allowed.

BEGIN CYCLE

Press and hold the START/PAUSE button to begin the cycle. The lid will lock, and the washer will agitate briefly without water to measure the weight of the load. If the START/PAUSE button is not pressed within 60 minutes, the washer will shut off and all settings will be lost.

ADD GARMENT LIGHT

The Add Garment light will illuminate near the beginning of the wash cycle to indicate when it is safe to add items to the load. Press the START/PAUSE button to pause the cycle and add garments to the load. Press the START/PAUSE button to resume the cycle.

NOTE: It is not recommended to add items unless the Add Garments light is illuminated, as this could result in poor performance and/or clothing damage.

END OF CYCLE

When the cycle is finished, a melody will sound. Immediately remove your clothing from the washer to reduce wrinkling.

WASH TEMP.

Wash Temp. selects the wash and rinse temperature combination for the selected cycle. Press the Wash Temp. button until the indicator light for the desired setting is lit. All rinses use tap cold water. The Wash Temp setting cannot be changed once a cycle has started. If you wish to change the wash temperature after the cycle has started, press the Power button to cancel the cycle. Then turn on the machine, reset the cycle with the changed wash temperature, and press Start to restart the cycle.

NOTE: If you cancel the cycle after the water has started to fill the tub, you may need to drain the tub (to achieve the new water temperature) and add a small amount of additional detergent to replace any lost during the draining process.

•Select the water temperature suitable for the type of load you are washing. Follow the garment fabric care labels for best results.

•Cold rinses use less energy. The actual cold rinse temperature depends on the temperature of the cold water at the faucet.

CYCLE MODIFIER BUTTONS

Each cycle has default settings that are selected automatically. You may also customize these settings using the cycle modifier buttons. Press the button for the desired modifier until the indicator light for the desired setting is lit. The washer automatically adjusts the water level for the type and size of wash load for best results and maximum efficiency. Due to the high- efficiency

nature of this product, water levels may be much lower than expected. This is normal and cleaning/ rinsing performance will not be compromised.

NOTE: To protec t y our garm ents, not eve ry was h/ rinse temperature, spin speed, soil level, or option is available with every cycle. A chime will sound and the LED will not light if a selection is not allowed.

SPIN SPEED

Higher spin speeds extract more water from clothes, reducing drying time and saving energy.

Press the Spin Speed button until the desired speed is selected. Some fabrics, such as delicates, require a slower spin speed. To protect your clothing, not all spin speeds are available for all cycles.

SOIL LEVEL

Adjusting the soil level setting will modify the cycle times and/or wash actions. Press the Soil Level button until the desired soil level is selected.

NOTE: This feature needs more time for heavily soiled loads or less time for lightly soiled loads.

SPECIAL CARE

Pressing the Special Care button will allow you to select additional features, such as Soak, Fabric Softener, Spin Only, and Rinse+Spin. Pressing the Special Care button before selecting a cycle will automatically default to the Normal cycle with the Soak feature selected.

SPECIAL CARE FEATURES

SOAK

This option provides 30- minutes presoak prior to the start of the selected cycle. Use the Soak option to presoak garments to help remove difficult spots or stains on fabrics. At the end of the presoak time, the selected cycle will begin with the same water used for the soak.

NOTE: You cannot select the Soak option in the Tub Clean.

SPIN ONLY

Use this option to drain the water from the tub and spin out the clothes. This can be used, for example, if the wash cycle is interrupted by a power failure.

1. Press the POWER button to turn on the washer.

2. Press the Special Care button repeatedly until Spin Only is selected.

3. Press the START/PAUSE button.

FABRIC SOFTENER

Fabric Softener is dispensed in the final rinse. Select the Fabric Softener button to optimize the final rinse for fabric softener use.

RINSE + SPIN

Select this option to rinse and spin a load separately from a regular cycle. This can be helpful in preventing fresh stains from setting in fabrics. You can change the spin speed by pressing the Spin Speed button.

1. Press the POWER button to turn on the washer.

2. Press the Special Care button until the Rinse+Spin indicator light is lit. ( The cycle light will turn off.)

3. Press the START/PAUSE button to start the cycle.

SPECIAL DRAIN FEATURE

This washer is equipped with a special feature that is designed to make your washer as safe as possible. If the washer is paused or shut off while there is still water in the tub, the water will drain automatically after several minutes of inactivity. This helps keep children safe by reducing the possibility of water remaining in the tub.

Any water remaining in the tub will automatically drain 4 minutes after the washer has shut off. If the washer is paused and the START/PAUSE button is not pressed within 60 minutes, the washer will shut off and all cycle settings will be lost. And any water remaining in the tub will be drained.

The washer can be turned on or restarted any time before the drain begins. However, once the washer begins to drain, all controls and functions will be disabled until the water has been completely drained and the washer shuts off.

REGULAR CLEANING

CLEANING THE EXTERIOR

Proper care of your washer can extend its life. The outside of the machine can be cleaned with warm water and a mild, nonabrasive household detergent. Immediately wipe off any spills with a soft, damp cloth.

IMPORTANT: Do not use solvents, cleaning alcohols, or similar products. Never use steel wool or abrasive cleaners because they can damage the surface.

CARE AND CLEANING OF THE INTERIOR

Use a towel or soft cloth to wipe around the washer lid opening and lid glass.

Always remove items from the washer as soon as the cycle is complete. Leaving damp items in the washer can cause wrinkling, color transfer, and odor. Run the Tub Clean cycle once a month, or more often if needed, to remove detergent buildup and other residue.

TUB CLEAN CYCLE

Some environmental and usage conditions can cause a residue to build up in the tub over time and can lead to a mildewy or musty smell. The Tub Clean cycle is specially designed to remove this buildup using bleach or other cleaners designed specifically for cleaning washing machines. Run the Tub Clean cycle once a month, or more often under heavy use conditions or if odor is present

1. Remove any clothing from the tub.

2. Fill the bleach dispenser to the MAX line with liquid chlorine bleach. Do not overfill the bleach dispenser. Overfilling will cause the bleach to dispense immediately.

NOTE: For other tub cleaning products, follow the cleaner manufacturer’s instructions and recommendations. For powdered cleaning products, add the cleaner to the main wash compartment of the dispenser drawer after removing the liquid detergent dispenser insert.

3. Close the lid and press the POWER button to turn the washer ON. Turn the knob to select the Tub Clean cycle then press the START/PAUSE button to begin the cycle. Selecting any other cycle after Tub Clean has been selected will cause the Tub Clean cycle to be cancelled.

4. After the cycle ends, open the lid and allow the tub interior to dry completely.

NOTE:

y Never load laundry while using Tub Clean. The

laundry may be damaged or contaminated with cleaning products. Make sure to run the Tub Clean cycle ONLY when the tub is empty.

y It is recommended to leave the lid open after fin-

ishing the laundry to keep the tub clean.

y It is recommended that Tub Clean should be re-

peated monthly.

REMOVING MINERAL BUILDUP

If you live in an area with hard water, mineral scale can form on internal components of the washer. Use of a water softener is recommended in areas with hard water.

Use a descaler, such as Washer Magic®, to remove visible mineral buildup. After descaling, always run the Tub Clean cycle before washing clothing.

Mineral scale and other spots may be removed from the stainless steel tub using a stainless steel cleaner. Do NOT use steel wool or abrasive clean ers.

LEAVE THE LID OPEN

If the washer will not be used for several days, leave the lid open overnight to allow the tub to dry.

CLEANING THE WATER INLET FILTERS

If the washer does not fill properly, an error message will show on the display. The inlet valve filter screens could be plugged by hard water scale, sediment in the water supply, or other debris.

NOTE: The inlet screens protect the delicate parts of the inlet valve from being damaged by particles that could enter the valves with the water supply. Operating the washer with these filters removed could cause a valve to stick open resulting in flood ing and/or property damage.

1. Turn OFF both water faucets completely. Unscrew the hot and cold water lines from the back of the washer.

IMPORTANT: Aftermarket hoses are not guaranteed to fit or function correctly. Other hoses may not tighten correctly and could cause leaks. Subsequent damage to product or property will not be covered under the terms of the product warranty.

2. Carefully remove the filters from the water valves and soak them in white vinegar or a lime scale remover, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Be careful not to damage the filters while cleaning.

3. Rinse thoroughly before reinstalling. Press the filters back into place.

4. Before reattaching the hoses, flush the hoses and water lines by running several gallons of water into a bucket or drain, preferably with the faucets wide open for maximum flow.

NOTE: IE message may blink on the display when the water pressure is weak or an inlet filter is clogged with dirt. Clean the inlet filter.

y Unplug the power cord and turn off the faucets

before cleaning. Failure to do so may cause

electric shock.

y Do not use the washing machine without the

inlet filters. If you use the washing machine

without the inlet filters it will cause leaks and product malfunction.

y If you use the washing machine in an area with

hard water, the inlet filter may clog due to lime buildup.

STORING THE WASHER

If the washer will not be used for an extended period of time and is in an area that could be exposed to freezing temperatures, perform the following steps to protect the washer from damage.

1. Turn OFF the water supply.

2. Disconnect the hoses from the water supply and drain water from the hoses.

3. Plug the power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet.

4. Add 1 gallon of nontoxic recreational vehicle (RV) antifreeze to the empty tub and close the lid. Nev- er use automotive antifreeze.

5. Press the POWER button, then select Spin Only. Press the START/PAUSE button to activate the drain pump. Allow the drain pump to run for one minute, then press the POWER button to shut off the washer. This will expel some of the antifreeze, leaving enough to protect the washer from dam age.

6. Unplug the power cord, dry the tub interior with a soft cloth, and close the lid.

7. Remove the inserts from the dispenser. Drain any water in the compartments and let them dry.

8. Store the washer in an upright position.

9. To remove the antifreeze from the washer after storage, run a complete Speed Wash cycle using detergent. Do not add laundry to this cycle.

CLEANING THE WASHER

PROPER USE OF DETERGENT

Using too much detergent is a common cause of laundry problems. Today’s detergents are formulated to be effective without visible sudsing. Be sure to carefully read and follow manufacturer’s recommendations for how much detergent to use in your wash. You can use less detergent if you have soft water, a smaller load, or a lightly soiled load.

NOTE: Use only low-sudsing, high- efficiency detergent. These detergents can be identified by the HE logo.

CARE AND CLEANING OF THE WASHER

Lid: Wash with a damp cloth on the outside and inside and then dry with a soft cloth.

Exterior: Immediately wipe off any spills. Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not touch the surface or the display with sharp objects.

Moving and Storage: Contact a service technician to remove water from the drain pump and hoses. Reinstall the foam tub block to protect the washer from damage while moving. Do not store the washer where it will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

Long Vacations: Be sure the water supply is shut off at the faucets. Follow the instructions in the Storing the Washer section if the washer will be exposed to freezing temperatures.

Dispenser Drawer: Detergent and fabric softener may build up in the dispenser drawer. Remove the drawer and inserts and check for buildup once or twice a month.

1. Remove the drawer by pulling it straight out until it stops. Lift up on the front of the drawer and pull it completely out.

2. Remove the inserts from the two compartments. Rinse the inserts and the drawer with warm water to remove buildup from laundr y products.

3. To clean the drawer opening, use a small, nonmetal brush to clean the recess. Remove all residue from the upper and lower parts of the recess.

4. Return the inserts to the proper compartments and replace the drawer. Set the drawer into the opening at an angle as shown above, then lower it and slide it into place.

y Do not spray water inside the washing

machine. Doing so may cause fire or electric

shock.

Should you experience any problems with your washing machine, it has the capability of transmitting data via your telephone to the Smart Diagnosis Team. This gives you the capability of speaking directly to our specially trained technicians. The technician records the data transmitted from your machine and uses it to analyze the issue, providing a fast and effective diagnosis.

If you experience problems with your washer, call 1-800-243 -0000 (1-888 -542-2623 in Canada). Only use the Smart Diagnosis System feature when instructed to do so by the Smart Diagnosis Team. The transmission sounds that you will hear are normal and sound similar to a melody.

Smart Diagnosis cannot be activated unless your washing machine can be turned on by pressing the POWER button. If your washing machine is unable to turn on, then troubleshooting must be done without using Smart Diagnosis.

USING THE SMART DIAGNOSIS™ SYSTEM

Follow the technician’s instructions and perform the following steps when requested.

HOLD the mouthpiece of your phone over the power button, when instructed to do so by the call center, no more than one inch from (but not touching) the machine.

NOTE: Do not press any other buttons or turn the cycle selector knob.

PUSH and hold the Wash Temp. button while continuing to hold your phone to the POWER button.

LISTEN for three beeps. After you hear the three beeps, release the Te mp. button. Keep the phone in place until the

tone transmission has finished. The display will count down the time. Once the countdown is over and the tones have stopped, resume your conversation with the technician, who will then be able to assist you in using the information transmitted for analysis.

The following sounds may be heard while the washer is operating. They are normal.

CLICKING:

Lid lock relay when the lid locks and unlocks.

SPRAYING OR HISSING:

Water spraying or circulating during the cycle.

HUMMING OR GURGLING:

Drain pump is pumping water from the washer at times during a cycle.

WATER SLOSHING SOUND:

A liquid in the balance ring around the wash basket helps the basket spin smoothly.

SOUND OF WATER BEING ADDED AFTER THE WASHER HAS ALREADY BEEN IN OPERATION

y The washer adapts to the load size and type to

add more water to the cycle as needed.

y The wash load may be unbalanced. If the washer

senses that the load is unbalanced, it will stop and refill to redistribute the load.

y The washer may be diluting laundr y additives to

add to the wash load.

BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE

Your washing machine is equipped with an automatic error-monitoring system to detect and diagnose problems at an early stage. If your washer does not function properly or does not function at all, check the following before you call for ser vice:

Water leaking Inlet hose connection is loose at

Check hoses for leaks, cracks and splits.

House drain pipes are clogged. The washer pumps out water very rapidly. Check for

water backing up out of the drain pipe during drain. If water is seen coming out of the drain, check for proper drain hose installation and check for restrictions in the drain. Contact a plumber to repair drain pipe.

Drain hose has come out of drain or is not inserted far enough.

Tie drain hose to inlet hose or standpipe to prevent it from coming out during drain. For smaller drain pipes, insert the drain hose into the pipe as far as the drain hose flange. For larger drain pipes, insert the drain hose into the pipe 1-2 inches past the flange.

A large item such as a pillow or blanket is above the top of the tub.

Use the BULKY/BEDDING cycle for large or bulky items. Use extra care and never wash more than half a load of items that float, such as pillows.

Stop the washer and check the load. Make sure the load does not crest above the top edge of the tub.

Staining

Bleach or softener dispensed too soon.

Dispenser compartment is overfilled causing bleach or softener to dispense immediately. ALWAYS measure bleach to prevent overfilling - one cup maximum.

Dispenser drawer closed too quickly causing softener to dispense immediately.

Bleach or softener was added directly to the wash load in the tub.

Always use the dispensers to ensure that laundry prod ucts are properly dispensed at the right time in the cycle.

Washer was not unloaded promptly.

Always remove items from the washer as soon as pos sible after the cycle is complete.

Clothes were not properly sorted. Always wash dark colors separately from light colors and

whites to prevent discoloration.

Never wash heavily soiled items washed with lightly soiled items.

Washer will not turn ONPower cord is not properly plugged

in.

Make sure that the plug is plugged securely into a grounded, 3-prong, 120-VAC, 60 -Hz outlet.

House fuse is blown, circuit breaker has tripped, or power outage has occurred.

Reset circuit breaker or replace fuse. Do not increase fuse capacity. If the problem is a circuit overload, have it corrected by a qualified electrician.

NOTE: If the washer stopped during a cycle due to a loss of power, the washer will resume the cycle where it stopped when the power is restored.

Wash cycle time is longer than usual

The washer automatically adjusts the wash time for the amount of laundry, water pressure and other operating conditions.

This is normal. The washer adjusts cycle time automatically to provide optimal results for the selected cycle. The time remaining shown in the display is only an estimate. Actual time may vary.

Musty or mildewy odor in washer

Incorrect or too much detergent has been used.

Use only High-Efficiency (HE) detergent in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Inside of tub was not cleaned properly.

Run the Tub clean cycle regularly.

Water leaks Oversudsing of detergent. Oversudsing may create leaks, and may be caused by the

type and amount of detergent used. High- Efficiency detergent is the only detergent recommended. Make sure that detergent and any additives are put into the correct dispenser compartments. The normal amount of detergent to use is 1/4 to 1/2 of the maximum amount recommended by the detergent manufacturer. Always reduce the amount of detergent if the load is small or lightly soiled, or if your water is very soft. Never use more than the maximum amount recommended by the detergent manufacturer.

where it stopped once power is restored. Control needs to be reset. Press the POWER button, then re-select the desired

cycle and press the START/PAUSE button. START/PAUSE was not pressed

after a cycle was set.

Press the POWER button then re-select the desired

cycle and press the START/PAUSE button. The

washer will shut off if the START/PAUSE button is

not pressed within 60 minutes. Extremely low water pressure. Check another faucet in the house to make sure that

household water pressure is adequate. Washer is too cold. If the washer has been exposed to temperatures be-

low freezing for an extended period of time, allow

it to warm up before pressing the POWER button.

Otherwise, the display will not come on. Washer is heating the water or

making steam.

The washer tub may stop operating temporarily dur-

ing certain cycles, while water is safely heated to a

set temperature.

Washer not filling properly Filter clogged. Make sure the inlet filters on the fill valves are not

clogged. Refer to the filter cleaning instructions. Inlet hoses may be kinked. Check that inlet hoses are not kinked or clogged. Energy efficiency. This is a High Efficiency (HE) washer. As a result, the

water level settings for this washer may be different

than for conventional washers. Insufficient water supply. Make sure that both hot and cold water faucets are

turned on all the way. The washer lid is open. The washer will not operate if the lid is open. Close

the lid and make sure that nothing is caught under

the lid preventing it from closing completely. Hot and cold inlet hoses are

reversed.

Check inlet hose connections. Make sure the hot

water supply is connected to the hot inlet valve, and

the cold water supply is connected to the cold inlet

valve. Water level is too low. This is a high efficiency washer. The water will not

normally cover the clothes. The fill level is optimized

for the wash motion to achieve the best wash per-

formance.

Previously set stains. Articles that have previously been washed may have

stains that have been set. These stains may be difficult to remove and may require hand washing or pretreating to aid in stain removal.

Bleach does not dispense

Bleach dispenser cover is not properly installed.

Make sure that the bleach cover is properly installed and snapped into place before the beginning of the cycle.

Bleach dispenser is dir ty or clogged.

Lift out the bleach dispenser cover and clean out the reservoir. Lint and other foreign debris that collects in the inside the dispenser may prevent proper dispensing of the bleach.

Premature dispensing of bleach

Bleach dispenser filled for future load.

You cannot store bleach in the dispenser for future use. The bleach will be dispensed ever y load.

Overfilling the bleach dispenser. Overfilling the bleach dispenser will cause the bleach

to dispense immediately, which will damage items in the tub. ALWAYS measure bleach, but never fill above the MAX line on the dispenser. One cup of bleach is normal, but never add more than one cup.

Incomplete or no dispensing of detergent

Detergent compartments clogged from incorrect filling.

Make sure that detergent and additives are put into the correct dispenser compartments. If liquid detergent is used, make sure that the liquid detergent cup and inser t are in the detergent compartment. If powdered detergent is used, make sure that the liquid detergent cup and insert are not used. For all detergent types, always make sure that the dispenser drawer is fully closed before the start of the cycle.

Too much detergent used. Make sure that the suggested amount of detergent is

used per the manufacturer’s recommendations. You may also dilute the detergent with water to the maximum fill line on the compartment to avoid clogging. Use only HE (High- Efficiency) detergent.

NOTE: Always use as little detergent as possible. High- Efficiency washers need very little detergent to achieve optimum results. Using too much detergent will cause poor wash and rinse performance and may contribute to odors in washer.

Insufficient water supply. Make sure that both hot and cold water faucets are

turned on all the way.

Normal residue. It is normal for a small amount of detergent to remain

in the dispenser. If this residue builds up it can interfere with normal dispensing of products. Refer to the cleaning instructions.

Water leaks ever y load Hoses not installed correctly. Check all fill and drain hose connections to ensure

that they are tight and secure.

The display shows: Lid lock switch error. Make sure that the lid is closed properly and

press the START/PAUSE button. The washer will not operate unless the lid is locked.

Make sure that nothing is caught under the lid, including shipping material or clothing.

Make sure that the latch mechanism is fully retracted.

If the lid is closed and the lid lock error message is displayed, call for service.

The display shows: Special Drain Feature. If the washer is paused during a cycle for

more than 4 minutes, the cycle will be cancelled and any water remaining in the tub will be drained. This code is not an error code, but is the function display for notification only.

Washer fills with water slowly or not at all, or the display shows:

Water supply faucets are not fully open.

Make sure that the water faucets are fully open.

Water line hoses are kinked, pinched, or crushed.

Make sure that the hoses are not kinked or pinched. Be careful when moving the washer during cleaning and maintenance.

Water inlet filters are clogged. Clean the inlet filters. See Maintenance in

the Care and Cleaning section.

Water supply pressure to faucet or house is too low.

Check another faucet in the house to make sure that household water pressure is adequate and flow is not restricted. Disconnect the inlet hose from the washer and run a few gallons of water through the hose to flush the water supply lines. If flow is too low, contact a plumber to have the water lines repaired.

Water supply connected with leaklimiting hoses.

Hoses designed to limit leaks can trip falsely and prevent the washer from filling. The use of leak limiting hoses is not recommended.

Washer will not turn on Power cord is not properly

plugged in. House fuse is blown, circuit break-

er has tripped, or power outage has occurred.

Make sure that the plug is plugged seruely into a grounderd, 3- prong. 120 -VAC, 60-Hz. outlet.

Make sure the drain hose is free of clogs, kinks, etc., and is not pinched behind or under the washer.

Adjust or repair drain. Maximum drain height is 96 inches (8 ft.)

The display shows: The washer has detected an out of

balance load.

If the washer detects a load that is too far out of balance to spin, it will display this code while it is attempting to rebalance the load. The washer will add water and try to redistribute the load automatically. As a result, the cycle will take longer than initially estimated. This display is for your information only, and no action is required.

The display shows: If the UE rebalancing operation

(see above) is not successful, this error will be displayed.

The automatic attempt to rebalance the load was not successful. The cycle has been paused to allow the load to be manually adjusted.

The load is too small. Small loads may need additional items to be

added to allow the washer to balance the loads.

Heavy articles are mixed with lighter items.

The load may have heavy items loaded with lighter items. Always try to wash articles of somewhat similar weight to allow the washer to evenly distribute the weight of the load for spinning.

The load is out of balance. Manually redistribute the load if articles have

become tangled preventing the automatic distribution from working properly.

The display shows : Water level is too high due to a

faulty water valve.

Close the water faucets, unplug the washer, and call for service.

The display shows: The water level sensor is not

working correctly.

Close the water faucets, unplug the washer, and call for service.

The display shows: A motor error has occurred. Allow the washer to stand for 30 minutes

and then restart the cycle. If the LE error code persists, call for service.

The display shows:

Clutch error. Mechanical failure.

Unplug the washer and call for service.

HOW SERVICE IS HANDLED: In-Home Service In-home service will be provided, as available, during the warranty period subject to servicer availability within the U.S. To receive in-home service, the product must be unobstructed and accessible to service personnel. If the inhome service repair cannot be completed, it may be necessary to remove, repair and return the product. If in-home service is unavailable, LG may elect, at its option, to provide for transportation of the product to and from an LG authorized service center.

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:

1. Service trips to deliver, pick up, or install the product or for instruction on product use.

2. Replacing house fuses or resetting of circuit breakers, correction of house wiring or plumbing, or correction of product installation.

3. Damage or failure caused by leaky/ broken/ frozen water pipes, restricted drain lines, inadequate or interrupted water supply or inadequate supply of air.

4. Damage or failure caused by accidents, pests and vermin, lightning, wind, fire, floods or acts of God.

WARRANTY:

Should your LG Washer (“Product”) fail due to a defect in material or workmanship under normal home use during the warranty period set forth below, LG Canada will at its option repair or replace the Product upon receipt of proof of original retail purchase. This warranty is valid only to the original retail purchaser of the product and applies only to a Product distributed in Canada by LG Canada or an authorized Canadian distributor thereof. The warranty only applies to Products located and used within Canada.

Replacement products and parts are warranted for the remaining portion of the original warranty period or ninety (90)

days, whichever is greater.

Replacement products and parts may be new or remanufactured.

DESEMBALAJE Y ELIMINACIÓN DEL MATERIAL DE TRANSPORTE

1. Una vez retirados el cartón y material de transporte, levante la lavadora de la base de espuma. Asegúrese de quitar el soporte de espuma del tambor colocado en la base y no queda pegado en la base inferior de la lavadora.

Si debe inclinar la lavadora para quitar los materiales de embalaje de la base, hágalo siempre cuidadosamente sobre su parte lateral. NO incline la lavadora sobre la parte frontal o posterior.

2. Guarde los pernos (que contiene el Manual del Propietario, piezas y muestras de productos de lavado) para futuros usos. Si la lavadora debe moverse en el futuro, el bloque de espuma ayudará a prevenir daños durante su transporte.

NOTA: Para prevenir daños, no retire la espuma del bloque hasta que la lavadora esté en su ubicación final.

CONEXIÓN DEL SUMINISTRO DE AGUA

y LG recomienda el uso de mangueras LG. Los daños

materiales o en la lavadora provocados por una fuga debidos a una mala instalación o por el uso de mangueras de otro fabricante, no estarán cubiertos por la garantía LG y serán de exclusiva responsabilidad del cliente y/o instalador.

y La presión de las tuberías de agua debe ser entre 20 psi y

120 psi (138 - 827 kPa). Si la presión de la tubería de agua es superior a 120 psi instalar una válvula reductora de presión.

y Revise periódicamente las mangueras por si hubiera grie-

tas, fugas y desgaste, y sustitúyalas si fuese necesario.

y Asegúrese de que las tuberías de agua no están dema-

siado tensas, retorcidas o aplastadas.

y Almacene e instale la lavadora en un lugar no expuesto

a temperaturas inferiores a las de congelación. Pueden provocar daños a las tuberías y mecanismos internos. Si la lavadora ha estado expuesta a temperaturas bajo cero antes de la instalación, déjela reposar a temperatura ambiente durante unas horas antes de su utilización y compruebe que no haya fugas.

1. Revise la conexión roscada las mangueras y asegúrese de que haya una junta de goma en ambos extremos de cada manguera.

2. Conecte las tuberías de agua a las llaves de paso de agua caliente y fría y apriete las conexiones con la mano. A continuación, utilice unos alicates para apretarlas otro 2/3 de vuelta.

NIVELACIÓN DE LA LAVADORA

El tambor de su nueva lavadora gira a alta velocidad. Para reducir las vibraciones, el ruido y los movimientos no deseados, el suelo debe estar nivelado y tratarse de una superficie sólida.

NOTA:

• Ajuste las patas niveladoras hasta que la lavadora quede nivelada. Subir las patas niveladoras más de lo necesario puede provocar que la lavadora vibre.

• Antes de instalar la lavadora, asegúrese de que el suelo esté limpio, seco y libre de polvo suciedad, agua y aceite con el fin de que las patas no se deslicen. Si las patas niveladoras se desplazan o deslizan pueden producirse vibraciones y ruidos excesivos por un contacto deficiente con el suelo.

Las cuatro patas niveladoras estarán firmemente apoyadas en el suelo. Empuje o sacuda suavemente los extremos superiores de la lavadora para asegurarse de que las patas hacen contacto con el suelo.

1. Coloque la lavadora en su ubicación final, teniendo

especial cuidado de no apretar, estirar o aplastar las tuberías de agua y desagüe. Coloque un nivel

CLASIFICAR EN CARGAS SIMILARES

Para obtener mejores resultados de lavado y reducir la posibilidad de dañar la ropa, clasifique cuidadosamente la ropa en cargas similares.

La mezcla de diferentes tipos de prendas y/o niveles de suciedad puede provocar un mal resultado de lavado, la transferencia de los colores, pelusas, decoloración o daños en los tejidos. Clasificar las prendas en grupos como se describe a continuación.

COLORES

NIVEL DE SUCIEDAD

USO DEL COMPARTIMENTO DEL BLANQUEADOR LÍQUIDO

Blanqueador

1. Revise las etiquetas de cuidado de la ropa para instrucciones especiales.

2. Mida el blanqueador líquido con cuidado, siguiendo las instrucciones del envase. Las lavadoras de alta eficiencia usan menos agua, por lo que necesitan menos lejía. Media taza es suficiente para la mayoría de las cargas.

3. Vierta cuidadosamente la cantidad de blanqueador en el compartimento del blanqueador. Si utiliza blanqueador en polvo, viértalo directamente en el tambor antes de agregar la ropa. Nunca agregue blanqueador en polvo en el compartimento del blanqueador líquido.

y No vierta cloro líquido sin diluir sobre la ropa o en el

llene en exceso el compartimento del blanqueador y evite las salpicaduras. La capacidad máxima del depósito del blanqueador es una taza de blanqueador por ciclo de lavado. Un llenado excesivo puede hacer que la lejía se distribuya inmediatamente y dañar la ropa en el interior de la lavadora.

No mezcle lejía con amoniaco o ácidos como el vinagre (o eliminador de óxido) El uso incorrecto

puede producir gases tóxicos, lo que podría provocar lesiones graves o la muerte.

Para lograr buenos resultados, dosifique el detergente usando el medidor facilitado por el fabricante del detergente.

La cantidad recomendada de detergente para cargas medias es menos de la mitad de la cantidad máxima recomendada. Use menos detergente en cargas pequeñas o ligeramente sucias No utilice una cantidad superior a la máxima recomendada por el fabricante del detergente.

DISEÑADO ÚNICAMENTE PARA EL USO

DE DETERGENTES DE ALTA EFICIENCIA. (HE: HIGH-EFFICIENCY)

IMPORTANTE: Su lavadora está diseñada únicamente para el uso de detergentes de Alta Eficiencia (HE: High-Efficiency) Los detergentes de Alta Eficiencia están formulados específicamente para lavadoras de alta eficiencia y contienen agentes de reductores de espuma. Busque siempre el símbolo de HE en la compra de detergente.

IMPORTANTE: No todos los detergentes son iguales. Preste especial atención a la cantidad de detergente que se usa para evitar el exceso de espuma. Un mal aclarado y detergente o residuos acumulados en la ropa pueden contribuir a los olores en la máquina. NO utilice medidas que no sean las suministradas por el fabricante del detergente. No utilice una cantidad superior a la máxima recomendada por el fabricante del detergente. Sólo se necesita una cucharada o medida completa de detergente para cargas de ropa muy sucia. Si utiliza demasiado detergente, podría acumularse en la lavadora y en la ropa.

Mida siempre la cantidad de detergente. Ya que los detergentes de Alta Eficiencia están diseñados para este tipo de lavadora, tenga cuidado al medir el detergente. Para la mayoría de las cargas no se debe utilizar más de 1/4 a 1/2 del tapón o una cucharada de detergente HE.

NOTA:

y Se debe tener especial cuidado al utilizar detergen-

tes concentrados 2x y 3x porque añadir poco más puede producir los problemas mencionados anteriormente.

y Ciertos detergentes considerados como compa-

tibles con HE pueden no proporcionar los mejores resultados.

UTILIZACIÓN DEL SUAVIZANTE Y DETERGENTE

Para añadir detergente y suavizante al dosificador automático:

1. Abra el cajón dosificador.

2. Añada los productos de lavado en los comparti-

mentos adecuados.

3. Cierre el cajón antes de comenzar el ciclo.

4. Si está utilizando suavizante en los ciclos Normal

o Heavy duty, pulse el botón Fabric Softener o seleccione la opción Extra Rinse.

NOTA: Es normal que una pequeña cantidad de agua permanezca en los compartimentos de lejía y suavizante al final del ciclo.

IMPORTANTE: No coloque ni almacene productos de lavandería, como el detergente, blanqueador o suavizante líquido, en la parte superior de la lavadora o secadora. Limpie los productos derramados inmediatamente. Estos productos pueden dañar el acabado de la superficie y los controles.

BOTÓN POWER (ENCENDIDO/APAGADO)

Pulse para ENCENDER la unidad. Presione el botón POWER para apagar la lavadora. Al pulsar el botón POWER durante un ciclo cancelará ese ciclo y se perderán los ajustes de carga. La puerta se desbloqueará después de una breve pausa.

NOTA:

• El agua que quede en el tambor tras apagar la lavadora, se vaciará transcurridos 4 minutos. La lavadora se puede volver a poner en funcionamiento en cualquier momento antes de comenzar el vaciado. Sin embargo, una vez que comienza el vaciado, las funciones se suspenden hasta el vaciado completo del agua; la lavadora se apaga.

SELECTOR DE CICLOS

BOTÓN INICIO/PAUSA

Mantenga pulsado este botón más de 0,4 segundos para iniciar el ciclo seleccionado. Si la lavadora está en funcionamiento, use este botón para pausar el ciclo sin perder la configuración actual.

NOTA: Si no pulsa el botón INICIO/PAUSA en 60 minutos tras la selección de un ciclo, la lavadora se APAGARÁ automáticamente y se perderán los ajustes del ciclo. Y se vaciará el agua restante de la cuba.

INDICADOR DE ESTADO DEL CICLO

Estos LED se iluminan cuando se selecciona un ciclo para indicar las fases que se van a realizar. Cuando un ciclo está en marcha, parpadeará el LED de la fase activa y permanecerán iluminados los LED de las fases siguientes. Una vez completada la fase, el LED se apagará. Si un ciclo está en pausa, el LED de fase activo dejará de parpadear.

LAVADO CON INICIO DEMORADO

El indicador de lavado con inicio demorado se iluminación cuando se seleccione un inicio demorado. El indicador se apagará cuando se haya iniciado el ciclo.

TIEMPO ESTIMADO RESTANTE

Cuando se selecciona un ciclo, se muestra el tiempo estimado para dicho ciclo. Ese tiempo puede cambiar a medida que se agregan opciones o si se modifican los ajustes. Una vez se pulsa el botón START/ PAUSE, la lavadora medirá el tamaño de la carga. El tiempo estimado que se muestra puede cambiar si el control modifica el ciclo debido al tamaño de la carga. Si se selecciona el retardo del inicio de lavado, el tiempo cuenta hasta que se inicia el ciclo.

NOTA: El tiempo que se muestra es sólo una estimación. Este tiempo está calculado en base a condiciones normales de funcionamiento. Algunos factores externos (tamaño de la carga, temperatura de la habitación, temperatura del agua entrante, etc.) pueden afectar al tiempo real.

INDICADOR DE BLOQUEO DE TAPA

El indicador de bloqueo de tapa se iluminará cuando se haya iniciado un ciclo. El indicador permanecerá iluminado hasta que haya una pausa, se pare o finalice el ciclo.

FUNCIONAMIENTO DE LA LAVADORA

CLASIFICACIÓN Y CARGA DE LA LAVADORA

Dependiendo de la necesidad, clasifique la ropa según tipo de tejido, nivel de suciedad, color o tamaño de la carga. Abra la puerta y cargue las prendas en la lavadora.

PRODUCTOS DE LIMPIEZA

Deposite el detergente de Alta Eficiencia (HE: High-Efficiency) en el depósito correspondiente. Si se va a utilizar lejía o suavizante, añádalos en los dosificadores apropiado.

ENCENDIDO DE LA LAVADORA

Pulse el botón ENCENDIDER para encender la lavadora. Las luces alrededor del dial selector de ciclos se iluminarán y sonará una señal.

SELECCIÓN DE UN CICLO

Presione el botón ciclo hasta que se seleccione el ciclo deseado. Se mostrarán los valores predefinidos de temperatura de lavado y enjuague, velocidad de centrifugado, nivel de suciedad, uso especial y los ajustes de opción para dicho ciclo. Si pulsa el botón lnicio Pausa sin seleccionar un ciclo, comenzará inmediatamente el ciclo Normal.

CONFIGURACIÓN DE AJUSTES

Se selecciona automáticamente la opción por defecto según el ciclo de lavado. Para cambiar las opciones, pulse el botón de opción y seleccione la opción deseada

NOTA: No todas las modificaciones y opciones están disponibles en todos los ciclos. Si no es posible la selección, se escuchará un sonido y el LED no se encenderá.

COMIENZO DEL CICLO

Presione el botón START/PAUSE para que comience el ciclo. La tapa se bloqueará y la lavadora se agitará brevemente sin agua para medir el peso de la carga. Si no pulsa el botón INICIO/PAUSA en un tiempo de 60 minutos, se apagará la lavadora y se perderán todos los ajustes.

PILOTO AÑADIR PRENDA

Con el piloto Add Garment iluminado, es seguro aña dir prendas a la carga. Pulse el botón INICIO/PAUSA para pausar el ciclo y añadir las prendas a la carga. Pulse el botón INICIO/PAUSA para reanudar el ciclo.

NOTA: No se recomienda añadir prendas a la carga si no está encendido el piloto Add Garment, ya que de lo contrario el resultado del lavado podría no ser el deseado y/o dañar la ropa.

FINAL DE CICLO

Cuando el ciclo haya terminado, sonará una melodía. Retire la ropa inmediatamente de la lavadora para evitar que se formen arrugas.

WASH TEMP (TEMPERATURA DEL AGUA)

Wash Temp selecciona la combinación de temperaturas de lavado y enjuague para el ciclo seleccionado. Presione el botón Wash Temp hasta que se prenda la luz del indicador para el ajuste deseado. Todos los aclarados utilizan agua del grifo.

y Seleccione la temperatura del agua deseable para

el tipo de carga que va a lavar. Para obtener los mejores resultados, siga las instrucciones de las etiquetas de cuidado de las prendas.

SPIN SPEED (VELOCIDAD DE CENTRIFUGADO)

Las velocidades de centrifugado más altas extraenmás agua de la ropa, lo que reduce el tiempo de secado y ahorran energía. Presione el botón Spin Speed hasta que seleccione la velocidad deseada. Algunas telas, como las prendas delicadas, requieren una velocidad de centrifugado más lenta. Para proteger su ropa, no todas las velocidades de centrifugado están disponibles para todos los ciclos.

Jores resultados y la máxima eficiencia. Debido a la naturaleza de alta eficiencia de este producto, los niveles de agua pueden ser mucho menores de lo esperado. Esto es normal y el rendimiento de la limpieza y el enjuague no se verá afectado.

NOTA: Para proteger sus prendas, no todas las temperaturas de lavado/enjuague, velocidades de centrifugado, niveles de suciedad y opciones están disponibles para todos los ciclos. Sonará un aviso sonoro y el LED no se iluminará si no se permite una determinada selección.

SOAK (REMOJO)

Esta opción proporciona un remojado previo de 30-minutos antes de que comience el ciclo seleccionado. Use la opción Soak para remojar previamente las prendas con el fin del tiempo de remojo, el ciclo seleccionado comenzará con la misma agua usada para el remojo.

NOTA: No puede seleccionar la opción Soak en el ciclo TUB CLEAN.

SPIN ONLY (SOLO CENTRIFUGADO)

Use esta opción para vaciar el agua de la tina y centrifugar la ropa. Se puede usar, por ejemplo, si se interrumpe el ciclo de lavado por un corte de suministro eléctrico.

1. Presione el botón START/PAUSE para prender la

lavadora.

2. Pulse el botón Special Care repetidamente hasta que se

seleccione Sólo Centrifugado.

3. Presione el botón START/PAUSE.

FABRIC SOFTENER(SUAVIZANTE)

Seleccione el botón Fabric Softener para optimizar el enjuague final para el uso de suavizante.

RINSE + SPIN (ACLARADO + CENTRIFUGADO)

Utilice este ciclo para obtener un enjuague intenso seguido de un centrifugado a alta velocidad. Puede cambiar la velocidad del centrifugado pulsando los boton Spin Speed.

1. Pulse el botón de encendido/aoagado para encender la lavadora.

2. Pulse el botón Special Care hasta que la luz del indicadora Rinse+Spin se encienda.

3. Pulse el botón START/PAUSE de para iniciar el ciclo. La lavadora se iniciará de forma automática.

SPECIAL DRAIN FEATURE(FUNCIÓN DE DRENAJE ESPECIAL)

Esta lavadora está equipada con un función especial diseñada para que la lavadora sea lo más segura posible. Si la lavadora queda en pausa o se apaga con agua en la cuba, se vaciará después de varios minutos. Esto ayuda a mejorar la seguridad de los niños, reduciendo la posibilidad de que quede agua en la cuba.

El agua restante de la cuba se vaciará después de cinco minutos tras apagarse la lavadora. Si la lavadora está en pausa y no se pulsa el botón START/PAUSE en un tiempo de 60 minutos, se apagará la lavadora y se perderán todos los ajustes. El agua restante se vaciará después de cinco minutos.

La lavadora se puede volver a poner en funcionamiento en cualquier momento antes de comenzar el vaciado. Sin embargo, una vez que ha comenzado el vaciado, se suspenden todas las funciones hasta que ha finalizado el vaciado y se ha apagado la lavadora.

Limpie el exterior de la máquina con agua tibia y un detergente suave, no abrasivo. Limpie inmediatamente todo líquido derramado con un paño suave y húmedo.

IMPORTANTE: No use disolventes, alcohol o productos similares. No utilice lana de acero ni limpiadores abrasivos ya que pueden dañar la superficie.

CUIDADO Y LIMPIEZA DEL INTERIOR

Use una toalla o paño suave para limpiar alrededor de la puerta y el cristal.

Vaciar la lavadora una vez finalizado el ciclo de lavado. Mantener ropa húmeda en la lavadora puede causar arrugas, transferencia de colores, y malos olores. Ejecute el ciclo Tub Clean una vez al mes, o con mayor frecuencia si fuera necesario, para eliminar los restos de detergente y de otro tipo.

CICLO DE LIMPIEZA DE TAMBOR

Algunas condiciones medioambientales y de uso pueden causar la acumulación de residuos en el tambor con el paso del tiempo y producir un olor a moho o humedad. El ciclo Tub Clean ha sido especialmente diseñado para eliminar esta acumulación mediante el uso de lejía u otros limpiadores específicos para la limpieza de la máquina. Ejecute el ciclo Tub Clean una vez al mes o con mayor frecuencia si el olor persiste.

1. Retire toda la ropa del tambor.

2. Llene el dosificador de lejía hasta la línea MAX con lejía líquida. No llene en exceso el dosificador de lejía. De lo contrario la lejía se podría dispensar inmediatamente.

NOTA: Para los productos de limpieza de tambores, siga las instrucciones y recomendaciones del fabricante. Para productos de limpieza en polvo, añada el limpiador al cajón dosificador de lavado principal tras retirar los restos de detergente líquido.

3. Cierre la puerta y presione POWER para ENCENDER la lavadora. Gire el selector hasta posicionar lo sobre el ciclo TUB CLEAN; a continuación pulse el botón START/PAUSE para iniciar el ciclo. En caso de seleccionar otro ciclo tras la selección del ciclo Tub Clean, éste se cancela.

4. Una vez finalizado el ciclo deje la puerta abierta

hasta que el interior se seque por completo.

NOTA:

y Nunca meta prendas en la lavadora mientras utili-

ce el ciclo de TUB CLEAN. La ropa puede dañarse o contaminarse con productos de limpieza. Asegúrese de realizar el ciclo Tub Clean SOLO con la cuba vacía.

y Se recomienda dejar la puerta abierta cuando

haya terminado el lavado para mantener el tambor limpio.

y Se recomienda repetir el ciclo TUB CLEAN todos

los meses.

ELIMINACIÓN DE DEPÓSITOS MINERALES

Si usted vive en un área con agua dura, puede acumularse la cal en los componentes internos de la lavadora. En estas zonas es recomendable utilizar productos para ablandar el agua.

Use un descalcificador, como Washer Magic®, para eliminar los restos de cal. Tras la descalcificación, realice un ciclo de Tub Clean, antes de realizar una colada.

Ciertos restos de minerales u otras manchas en el acero inoxidable pueden quitarse con un limpiador de acero inoxidable. NO utilice productos abrasivos o lana metálica.

DEJE LA PUERTA ABIERTA

Si no va a utilizar la lavadora durante varios días, deje la puerta abierta durante toda la noche para que se seque el tambor.

LIMPIEZA DE LOS FILTROS DE ENTRADA DE AGUA

Si la lavadora no se llena correctamente, se mostrará un mensaje de error en la pantalla. El filtro de la válvula de entrada podría estar obstruido por incrustaciones, sedimentos u otros residuos.

NOTA: Los filtros de entrada protegen las partes delicadas de la válvula de entrada de los posibles daños causados por partículas que pudieran entrar en la válvula con el suministro de agua. No utilice la lavadora sin los filtros de entrada. En caso contrario podrían producirse fugas y/o daños.

1. APAGADRA los dos grifos de agua completamente. Suelte las mangueras de agua caliente y de agua fría de la parte posterior de la lavadora.

IMPORTANTE: No todas las mangueras disponibles en el mercado son válidas ni garantizan un correcto funcionamiento. Determinadas mangueras pueden no encajar correctamente y provocar fugas. Los daños provocados al producto o a la propiedad por este uso inadecuado no serán cubiertos por la garantía.

2. Retire con cuidado los filtros de las válvulas de agua y sumérjalos en vinagre o en algún producto para la eliminación de depósitos calcáreos, siguiendo las instrucciones del fabricante. Tenga cuidado de no dañar los filtros durante la limpieza.

3. Enjuáguelos bien antes de volver a instalarlos. Encaje los filtros en su posición.

4. Antes de volver a colocarlas, conecte las mangueras y tuberías a un grifo completamente abierto de manera que el flujo sea máximo y deje circular varios litros de agua a un balde o sistema de drenaje.

NOTA: Un mensaje IE parpadea en la pantalla cuando la presión del agua es baja o si un filtro de entrada está obstruido por la suciedad. Limpie el filtro de entrada.

y Desconecte el cable de alimentación y cierre

los grifos antes de limpiar. No hacerlo puede

ser causa de descarga eléctrica.

ADVERTENCIA

GUARDAR LA LAVADORA

Siga las instrucciones para guardar la lavadora si no la va a utilizar durante un largo período de tiempo en climas fríos, con temperaturas bajo cero.

1. APAGADRA el suministro de agua.

2. Desconecte las mangueras del suministro de agua y vacíe el agua.

3. Conecte el cable de alimentación a una toma eléctrica con conexión a tierra.

4. Añada 1 galón (3,8 litros) de anticongelante para vehículos recreativos (RV) no tóxicos en el tambor vacío de la lavadora y cierre la puerta. Nunca use anticongelante para automóviles.

5. Pulse el botón POWER y a continuación seleccione Spin Only. Pulse el botón START/PAUSE para activar la bomba de desagüe. Deje la bomba de desagüe funcionando durante un minuto y luego pulse el botón POWER para apagar la lavadora. Esto expulsará del anticongelante, protegiendo suficientemente a la lavadora de posibles daños.

6. Desconecte el cable de alimentación, seque el interior del tambor con un paño suave y cierre la puerta.

7. Presione con fuerza para desenganchar el cajón dispensador de detergente y extráigalo. Escurra el agua de los compartimentos y deje que se sequen.

8. Guarde la lavadora en posición vertical.

9. Para eliminar el anticongelante tras guardar la lavadora, añada detergente al dispensador y ejecute un ciclo de Speed Wash.

Usar demasiado detergente puede llegar a causar problemas con la colada. Los detergentes actuales se formulan para ser eficientes y sin formación de espuma visible. Utilice la cantidad correcta de detergente, siguiendo las instrucciones de la etiqueta del detergente. Use menos cantidad de detergente en caso de agua blanda, para una carga pequeña, o una carga de prendas poco sucias.

NOTA: Utilice sólo detergente de alta eficiencia que produce menos espuma. Este tipo de detergentes se identifican mediante el logo

Puerta: Limpie el exterior y el interior con un paño húmedo y luego séquela con un trapo seco.

Exterior: Limpie inmediatamente cualquier salpicadura. Utilice un paño húmedo. No toque la superficie ni el panel de control con objetos punzantes.

Traslado y almacenamiento: póngase en contacto con un técnico del servicio de mantenimiento para eliminar el agua de la bomba de desagüe y de las mangueras. Vuelva a instalar el bloque de espuma del tambor para proteger la lavadora de posibles daños durante su traslado. No guarde la lavadora en un lugar expuesto a la intemperie.

Vacaciones prolongadas: Asegúrese de cortar el abastecimiento de agua en los grifos Siga las instrucciones de almacenamiento de la lavadora cuando se encuentre expuesta a temperaturas bajo cero.

Cajón dispensador: El detergente y el suavizante pueden acumularse en el compartimento dispensador. Extraiga el cajón y las partes movibles y compruebe la acumulación de residuos una o dos veces al mes.

1. Tire del cajón hacia fuera hasta que se detenga. Levante el frente del cajón y tire hacia fuera.

2. Quite los insertos de los dos compartimentos. Limpie los insertos y el cajón del dispensador con agua tibia para eliminar los restos de productos procedentes del lavado.

3. Limpie los huecos de la abertura del depósito con un cepillo pequeño, que no sea de metal. Elimine todos los residuos de las partes superior e inferior del hueco.

4. Vuelva a poner los insertos en los compartimentos y coloque el cajón. Incline el cajón en la abertura como se muestra en la figura, bájelo y deslícelo hasta su posición.

SONIDOS NORMALES QUE PODRÁ ESCUCHAR

Se pueden escuchar los siguientes sonidos mientras la lavadora está en funcionamiento. Son normales.

CHASQUIDOS:

Sonido cuando cierra y bloquea o desbloquea la puerta.

SONIDO DE SPRAY O SILBIDO:

El agua se está rociando o circulando en el tambor

ZUMBIDO O SONIDO DE BORBOTONES:

La bomba de desagüe vacía el agua de la lavadora tras el ciclo.

ANTES DE LLAMAR AL SERVICIO TÉCNICO

Su lavadora está equipada con un sistema automático de control de errores que detecta y diagnostica los problemas rápidamente. Si su lavadora no funciona correctamente o no funciona en absoluto, realice las siguientes comprobaciones antes de llamar al servicio técnico:

Fugas de agua La conexión de la manguera de entrada

de agua al grifo o lavadora está suelta.

Revise las mangueras por si hubiese fugas, grietas y rajas. Compruebe y apriete las conexiones de las mangueras.

Los tubos de drenaje están obstruidos. La lavadora bombea agua muy rápidamente. Compruebe la

seguridad del tubo de drenaje durante el drenaje del agua. Si el agua sale del desagüe, compruebe que la manguera de desagüe está correctamente instalada y las obstrucciones en el desagüe. Póngase en contacto con un fontanero.

La manguera de drenaje ha sufrido una fuga o no se ha introducido suficientemente.

Fije la manguera de desagüe a la manguera de entrada de agua o al tubo independiente para impedir que se salga durante el desagüe. Para tuberías de drenaje más pequeñas, inserte la manguera de drenaje en la tubería hasta la brida de la manguera de drenaje. Para tuberías de drenaje de mayor tamaño, inserte la manguera de desagüe en el tubería 1-2 pulg.más allá de la brida.

Una prenda de gran tamaño, como una almohada o una manta sobrepasa la parte superior del tambor.

Use el ciclo PRENDAS VOLUMINOSAS/ROPA DE CAMA para prendas grandes o voluminosas. No lave nunca más de la mitad de una carga con objetos flotantes como por ejemplo almohadas.

Detenga la lavadora y revise la carga. Verifique que la carga no alcanza el borde superior del tambor.

Excesiva espuma. Exceso de detergente. Los detergentes de alta eficiencia están formulados específica-

mente para lavadoras de alta eficiencia y contienen agentes de reductores de espuma. Utilice solo detergente de Alta Eficiencia (HE: High-Efficiency). Use la cantidad correcta de detergente tal como se indica en el envase.

Coloración

El blanqueador o suavizante dispensan antes de tiempo.

Se ha sobrepasado el nivel máximo de llenado del compartimento provocando el dispensado inmediato del blanqueador o suavizante. NO sobrepase nunca la cantidad de blanqueador -máximo una taza.

Si cierra el cajón con fuerza el suavizante puede dispensarse inmediatamente.

El blanqueador o suavizante se añaden directamente a la carga de lavado en el tambor.

Utilice los dispensadores para asegurar que los productos de lavando se dispensan correctamente en el momento adecuado del ciclo.

El tiempo de lavado es más largo de lo normal.

Retire siempre la ropa de la lavadora lo antes posible una vez finalizado el ciclo de lavado.

La ropa no se ha seleccionado correctamente.

Separar las prendas de color oscuro de las claras o blancas para evitar la transferencia de colores.

Nunca lave artículos muy sucios con prendas con poca suciedad.

La lavadora no se ENCENDER.

El cable de alimentación eléctrica no se ha conectado correctamente.

Asegúrese de que el enchufe está correctamente conectado a una toma de 3 clavijas con conexión a tierra, 120-VCA, 60 -Hz.

Se han fundido los fusibles, ha saltado el automático o se ha producido un corte de suministro eléctrico.

Restablezca el disyuntor o cambie los fusibles. No incremente la capacidad de los fusibles. Si el problema es la sobrecarga del circuito, solicite la asistencia de un electricista cualificado.

NOTA: Si la lavadora se detiene debido a un corte de corriente, reanudará el ciclo en el que se detuvo cuando se restablezca la alimentación.

El tiempo de lavado es más largo de lo normal.

La lavadora ajusta automáticamente el tiempo de lavado en función de la carga de lavado, el tipo de agua, su presión y otras condiciones de funcionamiento.

Esto es normal. La lavadora ajusta automáticamente el tiempo de lavado para asegurar resultados óptimos en el ciclo seleccionado. El tiempo restante que muestra la pantalla es aproximado. El tiempo real puede variar.

Ejecute el ciclo de limpieza del tambor con regularidad

Fugas de agua. Espuma excesiva, El tipo y la cantidad de detergente utilizado pueden provocar que

el exceso de espuma produzca fugas. El detergente de alta eficiencia es el único recomendado. Asegúrese de que detergente y aditivos se introducen en los compartimentos correctos. Utilice normalmente entre 1/4 a 1/2 de la cantidad máxima recomendada por el fabricante del detergente. Reduzca la cantidad de detergente si la carga es pequeña, poco sucia, o si el agua es muy blanda. No utilice una cantidad superior a la máxima recomendada por el fabricante del detergente.

pruebe que no queda ningún objeto atrapado que

impida el cierre de la puerta. El disyuntor/fusible se ha dispara-

do/fundido.

Compruebe los disyuntores / fusibles de la casa.

Cambie los fusibles o restablezca la corriente. Co-

nectar la lavadora a un circuito independiente. La

lavadora reanudará el ciclo donde se detuvo una vez

restablecida la corriente. El control necesita ser reajustado. Pulse el botón POWER, vuelva a seleccionar el ciclo

deseado y presione el botón INICIO/PAUSA. No se ha pulsado INICIO/PAUSA

tras seleccionar el ciclo.

Pulse el botón POWER, vuelva a seleccionar el ci-

clo deseado y presione el botón INICIO/PAUSA. La

lavadora se apagará si no se pulsa el botón INICIO/

PAUSA transcurridos 60 minutos. Nivel extremadamente bajo de

presión de agua.

Verifique en otro grifo de la casa que la presión del

agua es adecuada. La lavadora está demasiado fría. Si la lavadora ha estado expuesta a temperaturas

bajo cero durante un período prolongado de tiem-

po, deje que se caliente antes de presionar el botón

POWER. De lo contrario, la pantalla no se iluminará. La lavadora está calentando el

agua o haciendo vapor.

El tambor de la lavadora puede dejar de funcionar tem-

poralmente durante ciertos ciclos, mientras el agua se

calienta hasta llegar a la temperatura establecida.

No entra bien el agua en la lavadora

Filtro obstruido. Compruebe que los filtros de entrada de las válvulas

de llenado no están obstruidos. Las mangueras de entrada pueden

estar dobladas.

Consulte las instrucciones de limpieza del filtro.

Eficiencia energética. Esta es una lavadora de Alta Eficiencia (HE: High-

Efficiency). Por ello, los ajustes de nivel de agua para

esta lavadora pueden ser diferentes a los de las lava-

doras convencionales. Suministro de agua caliente. Asegúrese de que los grifos de agua fría y caliente

están abiertos. La puerta de la lavadora está

abierta.

La lavadora no funciona con la puerta abierta. Com-

pruebe que no queda ningún objeto atrapado que

impida el cierre de la puerta. Las mangueras de entrada de

agua caliente y fría están invertidas.

Compruebe las conexiones de la manguera de entra-

da. Asegúrese de que el suministro de agua caliente

está conectado a la válvula de entrada de agua ca-

liente, y el suministro de agua fría está conectado a

la válvula de entrada de agua fría. El nivel de agua es demasiado

bajo.

Esta es una lavadora de Alta Eficiencia. El agua no

cubrirá la ropa. El nivel de llenado se ha optimizado

para que el movimiento de la lavadora permita obte-

ner los mejores resultados de lavado.

Las mayores suciedades y las manchas más difíciles pueden requerir una limpieza de poder extra. Seleccione la función remojo o tratamiento de manchas para aumentar la potencia de limpieza del ciclo seleccionado.

Previamente tratar las manchas. Los prendas lavadas con anterioridad pueden tener manchas

que no se hayan ido en el lavado. Estas manchas pueden ser difíciles de quitar y requerir un lavado a mano o un pretratamiento para ayudar a su eliminación.

El producto blanqueador no se dispensa

La tapa del dispensador del producto blanqueador no está correctamente instalada

Verifique que la tapa del compartimento del blanqueador está correctamente instalada y encajada en su lugar antes del comienzo del ciclo.

El depósito del producto blanqueador está sucio u obstruido.

Levante la tapa del compartimento del producto blanqueador y límpielo. Las pelusas y otros residuos extraños que se acumula en el interior del dispensador pueden impedir una adecuada dispensación del producto blanqueador.

Dispensación del producto blanqueador antes del lo programado.

Depósito del producto blanqueador lleno para cargas futuras.

No almacene producto blanqueador en el compartimento para un uso futuro. El blanqueador será dispensado en cada carga.

Rellenar el depósito del producto blanqueador.

El exceso de blanqueador puede provocar daños en la lavadora. Mida SIEMPRE la lejía, pero sobrepase nunca la línea máxima que figura en el compartimento. No añada nunca más de una taza de blanqueador.

Incompleta o inexistente dispensación del detergente

Compartimentos de detergentes obstruidos por llenado incorrecto.

Asegúrese de que detergente y aditivos se introducen en los compartimentos correctos. Si utiliza detergente líquido, asegúrese de que la cajita de detergente líquido y el inserto se encuentran en el compartimiento para el detergente. Si emplea un detergente en polvo, asegúrese de que la cajita de detergente líquido y el inserto no se utilizan. Para cualquier tipo de detergente, verifique que el cajón dispensador está bien cerrado antes del inicio del ciclo.

Uso excesivo de detergente. Compruebe que la cantidad de detergente utilizada es la reco-

mendada por los fabricante. También puede diluir el detergente con agua hasta la línea de llenado máximo en el compartimiento para evitar una obstrucción. Utilice exclusivamente detergente HE (Alta Eficiencia).

NOTA: Utilice la mínima cantidad de detergente posible. Las lavadoras de alta eficiencia necesitan muy poco detergente para obtener resultados óptimos. Emplear demasiado detergente puede provocar un lavado y centrifugado deficiente y problemas de malos olores en la lavadora.

Suministro de agua caliente. Asegúrese de que los grifos de agua fría y caliente están abier-

tos.

Residuo normal. Es normal que una pequeña cantidad de detergente permanezca

en el depósito. Si este residuo se acumula puede interferir en la dispensación de los productos de lavado. Consulte las instrucciones de limpieza.

El agua se filtra en cada carga Las mangueras no están instaladas co-

Compruebe que las conexiones de la manguera de llenado y desagüe están bien apretadas y son seguras.

La puerta no se ha cerrado correctamente.

Verifique que la puerta esté bien cerrada y pulse el botón INICIO/PAUSA. Una vez iniciado el ciclo, el tambor puede empezar a girar o centrifugar pasados unos momentos. La lavadora no centrifuga si la puerta no está cerrada.

Si la puerta está cerrada y aparece el mensaje de error de bloqueo de la puerta, llame al servicio técnico.

La pantalla muestra: Error del cierre de seguridad de la

puerta.

Verifique que la puerta esté bien cerrada y pulse el botón INICIO/PAUSA. La lavadora no funciona si la puerta no está cerrada.

Compruebe que nada ha quedado atrapado debajo de la puerta, como material de envío o ropa.

Verifique el mecanismo de cierre está totalmente retraído.

Si la puerta está cerrada y aparece el mensaje de error de bloqueo de la puerta, llame al servicio técnico.

La pantalla muestra: Función de drenaje especial. Si la lavadora está en pausa durante más de 4

minutos, el ciclo seleccionado se cancela y el agua que quede en el tambor se drena. Este código no es un código de error, sino una indicación de función que sirve como aviso.

El agua entra en la lavadora muy lentamente o no lo hace en absoluto; la pantalla muestra:

Los grifos de suministro de agua no están completamente abiertos.

Compruebe que los grifos del agua están totalmente abiertos.

Las mangueras de suministro de agua están retorcidas, perforadas o aplastadas.

Compruebe que las mangueras no están retorcidas ni aplastadas. Mueva cuidadosamente la lavadora para proceder a su limpieza o mantenimiento.

Los filtros de entrada de agua están obstruidos.

Limpie los filtros de entrada. Consulte Mantenimiento en la sección de Cuidado y Limpieza.

La presión del agua en el grifo o en la vivienda es demasiado baja.

Compruebe en otro grifo que la presión del agua es adecuada y que el flujo no está limitado. Desconecte la manguera de entrada de la lavadora y deje correr unos cuantos litros de agua a través de la manguera para limpiar las tuberías de suministro de agua. Si el flujo es demasiado bajo, póngase en contacto con un fontanero.

El suministro de agua está limitado por mangueras con fuga.

Las mangueras diseñadas para limitar el flujo del agua pueden provocar que la lavadora no se llene. No se recomienda el uso de mangueras limitadoras de flujo.

La lavadora no se enciende. El cable de alimentación eléctrica no

se ha conectado correctamente. Se han fundido los fusibles, ha salta-

do el automático o se ha producido un corte de suministro eléctrico.

Compruebe que el enchufe está correctamente conectado a una toma de 3 clavijas 120 -VAC, 60-Hz. salida.

Restablezca el disyuntor o cambie los fusibles. No incremente la capacidad de los fusibles. Si el problema es la sobrecarga del circuito, solicite la asistencia de un electricista cualificado.

Compruebe siempre los bolsillos, etc., antes del lavado para evitar códigos de error o daños en la lavadora o la ropa.

La manguera de desagüe está retorcida, aplastada u obstruida.

La longitud total de la manguera de drenaje debe ser inferior a 96 pulg. desde la parte inferior de la lavadora.

Verifique que la manguera de drenaje no está obstruida, retorcida, etc, ni atrapada detrás o debajo de la lavadora.

Ajuste o reparación del drenaje. La altura máxima de la manguera de drenaje es 96 pulg. (8 pies.)

La pantalla muestra:

La lavadora ha detectado una carga desequilibrada.

Si la lavadora detecta que la carga está demasiado desequilibrada, se visualiza este mensaje mientras se intenta reequilibrar la carga. La lavadora añade agua y redistribuye la carga de forma automática. Como resultado, el ciclo necesitará más tiempo que el estimado inicialmente. Esta pantalla es solo informativa.

La pantalla muestra:

Si la operación de equilibrado UE (ver más arriba) no se realiza con éxito, se mostrará este error.

El reequilibrado automático de la carga no ha tenido éxito. Detenga el ciclo para reequilibrar la carga manualmente.

La carga es demasiado pequeña.

Las cargas pequeñas necesitan prendas adicionales para equilibrar la carga de la lavadora.

Prendas pesadas se mezclan con otras ligeras.

La carga puede contener tanto prendas pesadas como ligeras. Trate de lavar prendas de peso similar para que la lavadora distribuya uniformemente el peso.

La carga está desequilibrada. Redistribuya manualmente la carga si los artículos

se han enredado e impiden la distribución automática.

La pantalla muestra:

El nivel del agua es demasiado alto debido a una válvula de agua defectuosa.

Cierre el grifo de agua, desconecte el enchufe de la toma de corriente y póngase en contacto con el servicio técnico.

La pantalla muestra:

El sensor de nivel de agua no funciona correctamente.

Cierre el grifo de agua, desconecte el enchufe de la toma de corriente y póngase en contacto con el servicio técnico.

La pantalla muestra:

Se ha producido un error en el motor. Deje la lavadora en espera durante 30 minutos y a

continuación reinicie el ciclo. Si el código de error LE persiste, póngase en contacto con el servicio técnico.

La pantalla muestra:

Error de embrague. Fallo mecánico. Desenchufe la lavadora y póngase

en contacto con el servicio técnico.

3. Daños o fallos causados por tubos de agua con fugas o roturas, tubos de agua congelados, tubos de desagüe atascados, suministro de agua inadecuado o con interrupciones o suministro de aire inadecuado.

4. Daños al producto causados por accidentes, pestes e insectos, rayos, viento, fuego, inundaciones o causas de fuerza mayor.

5. Daños o fallos resultantes de un uso inadecuado, abusos, instalación, reparaciones o mantenimiento incorrectos. Las reparaciones incorrectas incluyen la utilización de piezas no aprobadas o especificadas por LG.

6. Daños o fallos causados por la modificación u alteración no autorizada del producto.
