Electrical Safety
Electrical Safety
• This appliance must be properly grounded. To minimize the risk of electric shock, you must alway plug into a grounded oulet.
• Do not cut or remove the grounding prong from the power plug.
• Attaching the adapter ground terminal to the wall receptacle cover screw does not ground the appliance unless the cover screw is metal and not insulated, and the wall receptacle is grounded through the house wiring.
• If you have any doubt whether the air conditioner is properly grounded, have the wall receptacle and circuit checked by a qualified electrician.
We strongly discourage the use of an adapter due to potential safety hazards. For temporary connections, use only a genuine adapter, available from most local hardware stores. Ensure that the large slot in the adapter is aligned with the large slot in the receptacle for a proper polarity connection.
To disconnect the power cord from the adapter, use one hand on each to avoid damaging the ground terminal. Avoid frequently unplugging the power cord as this can lead to eventual ground terminal damage.
• Never use the appliance with a broken adapter.
We strongly discourage the use of an extension cord due to potential safety hazards.

During Healthy Dehumidification Operation
If you select the dehumidification mode on the OPERATION MODE SELECTION
BUTTON, the product starts to run the dehumidification function. It automatically sets the room temperature and airflow volume to the best condition for dehumidification,
based on the sensed current room temperature. In this case, however, the setting temperature is not displayed on the remote controller and you are not able to control the room temperature either. During the healthy dehumidification function, the airflow volume is automatically set
according to the optimization algorithm responding to the current room temperature
status, so that the room condition is kept healthy and comfortable even in the very
humid season.
Operating Instructions
In this operation mode the actual setting temperature and the fan
speed are automatically set by the electronic control logic based on the current room temperature. If you feel hot or cold press the temperature setting buttons respectively for more cooling or heating effect.
NOTE : You cannot set the actual setting temperature and the indoor fan
speed in this operation mode. But you can use the Chaos swing in this operation. If the system is not operating as desired, switch manually to another mode.
Auto Operation (Cooling Only Model)
Healthy Dehumidification Operation
This operation circulates the air without cooling or heating. It can be activated by pressing the OPERATION MODE SELECTION BUTTON. Once the air circulation is activated you can select the air speed by pressing the INDOOR FAN SPEED SELECTOR BUTTON.
CHAOS Air economizes power consumption and prevents overcooling. The fan speed is automatically changed from high to low or vice versa, depending on the ambient temperature.

Operating Instructions
Jet Cool/Heat Operation
Jet cool function can be used to cool the room quickly in hot summer. When this
function is turned on, the air conditioner runs in cooling operation mode with super high fan speed and 18°C setting temperature for 30 minutes for fast and effective cooling. Similarly, jet heat function (available only in some models) warms up the room quickly by operating at super high fan speed and 30°C setting temperature for 60 minutes.
You can activate this operation by pressing the JET COOL/HEAT BUTTON. To change from jet cool mode to high fan speed cooling mode, press the JJET COOL/HEAT BUTTON or INIDOOR FAN SPEED SELECTOR BUTTON or the ROOM TERPERATURE SETTING BUTTON again.
Jet cool function cannot be activated during auto changeover operations.
In case of Inverter, Art Cool and Art Cool Wide(non-Deluxe) model, you can use jet heat function by
pressing JET COOL/HEAT BUTTON for heating operation.
Art Cool and Art Cool Wide models close the side discharges during jet cool/heat operation, for strong cooling and heating.
NOTE
Auto operation basically is heating or cooling function of the air conditioner. But during this operation the controller changes the operation mode automatically to keep the temperature within ±2°C with respect to the setting temperature.

Smart Clean Operation
The brush automatically cleans dust accumulated on the filter by reciprocating the air filter. The efficiency of the air conditioner can be improved by cleaning the filter at the air inlet. The cleaned dust is automatically collected into the dust box by the sucking motor. You may directly clean the air filter. It's better to clean the filter biannually or when needed.
1. When the Smart Clean starts, the indoor fan operates the 2-minute Air circulation operation and the 3-minute Heating opeartion. Water is removed from the heat exchanger.
At this time, the LED of the brush is turned on.
The fan operates at the low speed.
The louver is a little open.
2. When the fan is stopped after 5 minutes, the brush starts cleaning the dust from the filter.
The brush moves to the right.
The LED blinks while the brush is cleaning.
The noise caused by the brush moving over the filter may be occurred.
3. When the brush arrives at the dust sucking hole at the right side of the filter, it reciprocates left and right three times to clean the dust from the brush.
At this time, the dust sucking motor operates for 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Some noise may be generated from the motor to suck the dust.
4. When the sucked dust is collected into the dust box, the brush returns to the original position not to
interfere the operation of the air conditioner.
The sucking motor is stopped.
The LED of the brush blinks and moves to the left side of the filter.
5. When the brush arrives at the original position, the Smart Clean function is ended.
The LED is turned off.
The Smart Clean function can be used by setting to manual or automatic.
It is set to the manual mode at the time of the product shipment.

for the cleaning Air Filter. If the Front Grill is opened for a long time while the Smart Clean operates, when the Front Grill is closed, the Smart Clean is automatically ended and the brush returns to the initial position.
When the Smart Clean Operation is ended, the Smart Clean Mark is automatically disappeared from the
screen of the remote controller after a while. But, if the Auto Smart Clean is set, the Smart Clean Mark is not disappeared.
NOTE

(The order of Auto clean Smart clean Off is repeated\whenever you press the button.)
2. Set the Smart clean function by using the SET/CLEAR button
When the Auto Smart Clean Operation is set, the Smart Clean automatically operates, so the separate
operation is not needed.
When it is ended due to the reserved operation or the sleeping operation, the Auto Smart Clean Operation
does not operate. When you operate the Manual Smart Clean with the Auto Smart Clean set, you can check whether the Manual Smart Clean is executed or stopped by hearing the "beep" sound of the product. (The Smart Clean Mark continues to be displayed on the screen of the remote controller.)
