Introduction

Model RNRZ-B510A (10 Channel) / RNRZ-B520A (20 Channel)
is used for the description, operation and details provided in this
operating guide.

Precautions

• Depending on the camera and other equipment there are various ways to connect the unit. Please refer to the camera manual or manuals for
other devices as necessary for additional connection information.

• Be sure to switch off the camera before installation and connection.

Connecting Display device

This unit can be output simultaneously from the HDMI and VGA jack.

The video signal connects between the system and the monitor.

VGA Monitor connection

Connect the VGA jacks on the rear of the unit to the corresponding
input jacks on the TV or monitor using the VGA cable.

Connect the unit to the HDMI monitor using a HDMI cable (Type A,

Connect the AUDIO OUTPUT jacks on the unit to the mono audio in

USB Memory device

Insert the memory device into the USB port. The system automatically

recognizes the device. The system software can be easily upgraded

using a USB memory device.

Connect the external device to the USB port.

(Example: External HDD)

Connect the USB mouse to operate the system.

Connecting Network

You can control and monitor the system via network. With the remote

control (monitoring), you can change the system configuration or

monitor the image via network. After the installation, check the
network settings for the remote control and monitoring work.

LAN connection

Connect the LAN port to an available 10/100/1000 base-T port with

a straight ethernet cable (not supplied). The NET indicator on the front

panel will be lit.

IP Camera connection

Connect the IP camera. After the installation, check the IP camera
settings on the setup menu.

Automatic network conguration

The system can automatically obtain and configure the network

interface via DHCP.

Manually congure network

The system may be manually configured by assigning an IP address,

subnet mask, gateway and DNS.

Connecting Alarm Input and Alarm Output

Alarm terminals are used to connect the alarm devices such as

sensors, door switches, etc.

You can connect up to 16 alarm sensors. Each alarm sensor should be

connected with G (GND). The signal state is adjustable to N/O (Normal

Open) or N/C (Normal Close) through the setup menu.

HDD INSTALLATION

Note for Hard Disk Drive

The internal hard disk drive (HDD) is a fragile piece of equipment.

Please follow the guidelines below when using the system to protect

against possible HDD failure. We recommend that you back up your
important recordings onto an external backup device in order to
prevent accidental loss.

Make sure that the power is turned OFF when attaching or removing

the HDD.

• Do not move the system while the power is on.

• Do not use the system in excessively hot or humid places, or in
places that may be subject to sudden changes in temperature.
Sudden changes in temperature can cause condensation to form
inside the system. This can be a cause of HDD failure.

• While the system is switched on, do not unplug from the wall

socket or switch the electricity off from the breaker switch.

• If there’s a power failure while the system is on, some data on the
HDD may be lost.

• Do not drop the HDD. Also do not put the metallic object such as

coins or screwdrivers into the HDD tray.

• When a power failure occurs during recording, avoid adding,
replacing or transporting the HDD as the recorded data may be

erased. In this case, turn the power back on to boot up the unit
normally with the HDD that was being used at the time of the
power failure attached. Then add, replace, or transport the HDD.

• The HDD is very delicate. Handle the HDD with care and follow
the precautions below because even a tiny shock may damage the

internal components of the HDD.

- Do not place the HDD on the desk or table directly. Put a
thick cushion under the HDD because even a small shock may
damage the internal components of the HDD.

- Do not use an electric screwdriver. Vibrations and shocks

caused by an electric screwdriver may damage the internal

components of the HDD.

- When replacing the HDD, do not knock the HDD with other
components such as another HDD and the HDD tray.

- Do not knock the HDD with tools such as a driver when
replacing the HDD.

• Protect the hard disk drives from static electricity.

Installing the Hard Disk Drive

You can install up to 4 HDDs.

Improper installation or setup may disturb HDD recognition or normal

product operation. So you should consult with an expert from the
store where the product was purchased.

1. Remove the fixing screws on the rear panel.

2. Detach the top case by sliding it after removing the screws. You

must lift up the top case verticality.

3. Remove the screws and detach the hard disk mounting bracket

from the product.

4. Attach the hard disk drives onto the hard disk mounting bracket

with screws.

5. Attach the HDD mounting bracket onto the product in reverse
order of removing.

6. Connect the HDD power cables. You must use the supplied SATA
power cable. The SATA power cables that used for normal PC is
not compatible with this unit.

8. Connect the SATA cables of the HDD to the SATA connector of
the main board.

9. Assemble the top case.

10. Fix the screws.

11. When you turn the power of the unit on, the new HDD is detected.

Installation

Replacing the Hard Disk Drive

Before replacing the HDD, turn the power of the unit off and detach
the power plug from the outlet.

1. Follow steps 1 to 2 described in “Installing Hard Disk Drive”.

2. Remove the connectors from the HDD.

3. Remove the screws and detach the hard disk mounting brackets

from the product.

4. Detach the HDD from the bracket and then attach a new HDD.

5. Follow steps 5 to 10 described in “Installing Hard Disk Drive”.

6. After replacing the hard disk drive, insert the power plug into
the outlet and turn the power of the unit on. The new HDD is

detected.

NOTE

• Do not use an electric screwdriver to x them.

• Do not stack them nor keep them upright.

Startup

After the power is plugged in and the power switch on the rear panel
is turned on, the device will start with beep sound.

NOTE

• If the system is turned off accidently and then turned on again,
the system may take a long time to be rebooted.

• When the power supply is abnormal, the system cannot work
normally and even the system may be damaged, so the regulated

power is recommended for power supply.

System Shutdown

1. Select [Main Menu] >[Shutdown] to enter the logout interface, as
shown in the figure below.

2. Users can click [Logout], [Reboot], [Shutdown] and other icons for

operation.

NOTE

• When the system displays “It is shutting down…”, do not turn off
the power.

• Do not cut off the power when the device is running.

Startup Guide

After the device is started, the simple configuration can be conducted
for the device through the startup guide to ensure the normal
operation of device.

1. Enter the [Guide Setup] screen firstly to set the current language
and resolution of output device. Click [Next] to enter the next
interface.

2. Enter the [Config guide] screen and select whether to run the

startup guide. Click [Yes] to run the startup guide.

[No] : Skip the startup guide at this time.

[Never] : Skip the startup guide and never show it again.

3. You need to login with administrator account for the initial
settings. Input default password in the [Password] eld and click
[Conrm]. (default password : 000000)

When you input incorrect password in the [Password] field for 5

times, the system will be locked for 5 minutes.

4. Enter the time & time zone setting and click [Apply] to set the
time zone and time. Click [Next] to enter the next step.

5. Enter the network setup according to your network environment
and click [Apply] to set the network settings. Click [Next] to enter

the next step.

If your network environment supports the DHCP, set the

[Auto obtain IP address via DHCP] check box. If your network

environment does not support DHCP, set the [Manual setup IP
address] check box.

You may need to set the DNS manually. Select the [Manual Setup

DNS] check box to set the DNS manually.

6. The system automatically detects the installed storage devices
and diplay them on the list. Select a storage deveice on the list and
click [Initialization] to format the selected devieces. Click [Next] to
enter the next step.

7. The system searches the available IP cameras on the network

and display on the list automatically. Select [Refresh] to search
cameras again.
There is a check box on each camera on the list. Select check

boxes on each camera and select [Next] to nish settings.

Click [Next] to enter the next step.

8. Click [Finish] to complete the guide setup procedure. If you need
to re-config the previous settings click [Back] to return to the
previous setup page.

Preview screen

Preview Interface Status

In the preview screen, the recording and alarm status of each channel

can be displayed and distinguished by the icons at the top right of

each channel. For the preview status description, please refer to the
table below.

Descriptions for Right-click Menu of Mouse

In the preview status, you can conduct the preview screen switching,
preview settings, channel management, video playback and other
operations through the right-click menu. As shown in the figure below.

• If [Start Switch] operation is needed, please set the [Time

• Through the mobile monitoring, not only the client download
of Android and Apple iOS version can be provided, but also the

public network connection status can be seen.

Super Taskbar Description

By moving the mouse cursor to the right side of screen, the super
taskbar appears. Every items in the main menu can be selected on

the super taskbar. Video playback, recording setting, Preview settings
and PTZ control are xed at the rst four items, and other icons are

updated dynamically according to the clicking frequency. Icons of super

taskbar are shown in the gure below.

Preview operation panel

1. In the login status, click a channel in the preview screen to show
the preview operation panel as shown in the gure below.

2. The PTZ control, instant playback, manual snapshot, manual
recording, E-zoom, talkback, channel information editing and other

operations can be conducted by in the preview operation panel.
For specic operations, refer to the gure below.

Click [PTZ] to display the full screen of channel with the PTZ control
window.

Refer to page 24 for more detail.

OSD

Click OSD button to display the [OSD] setup menu. Refer to page 21
for more detail.

Instant playback

Play the video of the channel within 5 minutes. If there is no video

recorded in the selected channel, [Instant playback fails] appears.

In the preview screen, click the button on the preview operation

panel to start playback.

Manual snapshot

Click to take a snaphot of current preview screen.

Start/Stop Manual Recording

Start the video recording instantly. In the preview screen, click
button on the preview operation panel to start recording.

to stop manual recording.

E-zoom

1. Click to enter the E-zoom control screen as shown in the

gure below.

2. Scroll the mouse wheel for sizing the zoomed area.

3. Drag the red box in the small screen in the corner to move the
zoomed area.

4. Click the right mouse button to return to the preview screen.

Start/End Talkback

Click to start talkback function. and click to stop talkback
function.

Channel information

Click button to display [Digital Channel] menu on the screen. You
can check or edit the channel settings on the menu.

Stream Parameter

Click button to display video streaming information.

Instant Channel Adding

You can add an IP camera to a channel instantly. The preview status
will be as shown in the gure below if no channel is added to the

channel.

1. Click [+] mark at center of the blank channel on the preview
screen. The server search window appears on the screen.

NOTE

Add channels by default port, user name and password; if the

information of channel does not meet the default information, users

can edit the “Manual Add” to add channels.

2. The system automatically searchs the available cameras and diplay
them on the list. Select an IP address on the list and fill user ID and

password of the selected IP address in the [User] and [Password]

fields.

3. Click [Add] to apply the camera to the channel.

4. You can maually set a channel on the [Server Search] window.
Click [Manual Add]. The [Digital Channel] window appears on the

screen.

5. Input [Device Address], [Port No.], [User] and other elds and click
[Conrm] to add the camera to the channel. The adding can be

completed successfully after the front-terminal IP address, port

No., user name, password and other information are input.

Preview Setting

Select [Preview Setting] through the right mouse click on the preview
screen to enter the [Preview Setting] menu as shown in the gure
below.

You can also enter the [Preview Setting] menu through the Super
taskbar. Move the mouse cursor to the right side of the preview screen
and select [Preview Setup].

Basic Conguration

Descriptions of each option

• Output
The VGA/HDMI is the only option for the setting. There is nothing
to be set by user.

• Time interval

Set the automatic switch time interval of preview. Select an option
among None Switch, 2, 3, 5, 10 or 15 seconds.

• Preview

Set the channel quantity on the screen.

• Output Mode(VGA1)

Set the display effect of VGA output. Select an option among
Standard, mild, brilliance and highligh.

• Preview Performance

AUTO : Select a preview performance automatically.
Optimum image quality: to ensure the preview effect, all channels
use the mainstream for preview.
Maximum preview performance: the system adjusts the
mainstream and substream according to the current preview

performance.

• Alarm images switch time

Set the single-screen display time interval of alarm link. Select an
option among 2, 3, 5, 10 and 15 seconds.

• Keep the last frame

If you check this option, the preview will stay at the last frame
when the camera is ofined. If you uncheck this option, “No Video”
will be displayed.

Viewport Conguration

You can set preview screen conguration and channel positioning on

this menu.

Select a screen number button. Double click on each screen to delete
the channel and double click the on the channel No. of table on the

left to congure the channel No. to the specic position. Click the
automatic conguration and clear all at the lower right to open or
close all preview channels.

Customized Preview

You can set your own preview screen template on this menu.
The [Customized Previrew] screen can be selected in the right-click
menu of preview screen.

The setting methods of left and middle of screen are the same as view
conguration screen. When the channel is congured, click the arrow
button to add the preview template and click [Apply] to take effect.
The maximum number of preview templates is 8 and each template
name can be changed by double clicking the preview template.

General Channel Adding

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Cameras] > [Channels] > [Basic

Conguration] to enter the channel conguration screen as
shown in the gure below.

NOTE

• After the adding is completed, users can view the adding result
in the list of [Added devices].

• When the exclamation mark is displayed for the connection

status, the cause for connection failure is displayed when the

mouse is moved to the

icon.

• When the [Plug-and-play] option is set to [Automatic], it takes

about 30 seconds to display all camera views.

2. After clicking [Search], the device will start searching. The search
results will be sorted automatically according to the IP addresses.
Each device on the search result can be modied. After

is

clicked, the [Modify IP] screen appears as shown in the gure
below.

3. Click [Advanced] to search in different connection modes.

4. Select one or more devices in the search list and click [Add] to add

to the idle channel. You can also add devices with double clicking a

device on the list.

Manual Channel Adding

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Cameras] > [Channels] > [Basic

Conguration] to enter the channel conguration.

2. Click [Manual Add] to enter the [Digital Channel] menu.

3. Select a channel number and device type in the [Channel No.] and
[Device Type] option.

4. Input the required elds according to the device type and click
[Conrm] to nish the channel adding.

NOTE

• If the device to be added is a multi-channel system, users can
select the channel No. to be added in the [Device Channel] and
add the corresponding multiple channels of one system at the
same time.

• You can add devices by using [Smart Adding]. Make the adding
rules and target channels and click [Batch Adding] to add
multiple channels at once.

• When the device type is ONVIF, the defaults port No. is 80 and

the default user name and password are ‘admin’. You may need to
modify those values because the account number and password

may differ depending on the devices.

IPC Central Management

Users can conduct the parameter import and export, remote upgrade,
IPC reboot and other operations for the added device through the IPC
central management function.

Select [Main Menu] > [Cameras] > [Channels] > [IPC central

management] to enter the IPC Central Management screen as shown
in the gure below.

NOTE

The interface can display the channel No., attribute, version number
and connection status of added device and also the parameter
import and export, remote upgrade, IPC reboot and other operations
can be conducted.

Importing device configuration

1. Select a device to be operated in the list.

2. After clicking [Import] and then click [Conrm] in the pop-up
screen. The [Conguration Import] screen

3. Select a le in the list and click [Import] to import device
conguration: The device will be restarted.

Exporting device configuration

1. Select a device to be operated in the list.

2. Click [Export] to display the [Conguration Export] screen.

3. Select a storage device, ll in the exported le name and click
[Export] to export the device conguration.

Updating a device

1. Select a device to be operated in the list.

2. After clicking [Update] to display the [IPC Upgrade] screen.

3. Select a le in the list and click [Upgrade] to start device upgrade.

Stream Setup

Select [Main Menu] > [Cameras] > [Stream Setup] to enter the

stream setup screen as shown in the gure below.

Audio/video setting

Select a channel to be set and set the audio/video settings:

• Channel No.

Select a channel to be set audio/video settings. And select the sub
options.

• Encoding mode

the system supports H.264 and H.265 codes. Three encoding

modes (high prole, main prole and baseline) can be selected.

• Resolution
set the resolution of the device.

• Corridor Mode

when the resolution is 16:9 (e.g. 1080P), the portrait mode can

be enabled. If you check this option, the resolution of video is

adjusted to 9:16.

• FrameRate
The number of video frames per second and it can be selected.

• BitRate Type
[VBR (Variable BitRate)] and [CBR (Constant BitRate)] can be
selected.

• BitRate

It can be selected by pull-down list or input the value range

through numpad.

• Stream Type

Select an option between [Video] and [Audio/Video]. [Audio/

Video] includes video and audio information and [Video] only
includes video information.

Click “More Setting...” to expand the setting options.

• Quality

There are 5 levels of quality (best, better, good, normal, worse).

The image quality is in direct proportion to the bitrate. The better
the image quality, the higher the bitrate.

• I-Frame Rate

It is the key frame and it means how many video frames contain

an I frame. If I frame rate is 100, there is a I frame in each 100
frames of videos. I frame rate is inversely proportional to the

bitrate: the bigger I frame rate is, the smaller the bitrate is. It is

recommended that the setting value of I frame rate is the same as
that of frame rate.

• Audio code

The system provides 4 audio encoding modes (ADPCM_DIV4,
AAC, G.711A and G.711U). Three audio sampling rates (8K, 32K
and 48K) are provided at the same time.

• Audio type

It refers to the audio type used by device and it supports two

types (Lineln and MicIn).

• Input volume

It refers to the input volume of corresponding channel and the

Substream can be set separately. Refer to the setting mode of
mainstream.

NOTE

• The substream settings are used for network transmission.
When the network environment is not very good, users can
use the substream for preview to reduce the transmission
bandwidth; the substream is also applicable to the mobile

monitoring.

• Click the [More Setting...] button to expand or collapse the
setting options under the button.

ROI setting

Set the ROI on the image of the device which supports ROI is

connected. The image displayed in the ROI has higher quality.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Cameras] > [Stream Setting] > [ROI] to

enter the ROI setup screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Check [Area Setting] to enable this function.

3. Drag on the camera viewer to set the region. Four regions can be

supported at most. Click [Delete Area] to delete all set regions.

4. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

Video Setup

In order to obtain good visual effects, users can adjust the settings

of video. After these settings are adjusted, they will affect the local
preview, recording, network preview and other items.

Select [Main Menu] > [Cameras] > [Video Setting] to enter the video

setup screen as shown in the gure below.

Image Set

1. Select a channel to be set.

2. Set the [Format], [Video Flip] mode and other settings.

NOTE

• The [Image Set] settings may not be adjusted for some cameras.

In this case, you should set the image settings on its own web
viewer.

• [Brightness], [Contrast], [Saturation] and [Hue] can be adjusted
from 1 to 100.

• [Shutter] can be adjusted from 1/100000 to 1 and the bigger
the setting value is, the faster the response speed is.

• [Gain] can be adjusted from 0 to 255.

• WDR policy has three options. There are [Disable], [WDR auto]

and [WDR Handle] options. The WDR level is displayed when the

WDR policy is enabled, and the value can be adjusted from 0 to

255.

• [Digital denoise] has three options. There are [disable], [normal
mode] and [expert mode] options. When the normal mode is
selected, the denoise level selection can be seen and the value
can be adjusted from 0 to 255. When the expert mode is
selected, the [S-domain denoise] level and [T-domain denoise]
level can be selected and the value can be adjusted from 0 to

255.

• You can select the function of [Copy To Channel] to copy the
other channels.

• Each level setting can be adjusted by the mouse wheel when the
mouse cursor is located in the setting.

3. After the setting is completed, click [Apply] to save the settings.

4. Click [Reset To Default] to restore all the settings to factory
default.

D/N set

1. Select the channel which needs color to grey setting.

2. Select an option in the [Color to Grey Type]. Available options are
[Auto (inside)], [B/W], [Color], [Auto (outside)], [Schedule] and
[Self adaptive]. Additional options are appears according to the
selected type.

3. Set the additional options and click [Apply] to nish the setting.

OSD setting

Select [Main Menu] > [Cameras] > [OSD] to enter the OSD setup

screen as shown in the gure below.

OSD

1. Select a channel which needs OSD setting.

2. Select required options and set OSD setting for the channel.
If the OSD position of this channel needs to be changed, you can

directly drag the mouse on the camera view screen for setting

after checking the customized position.

NOTE

• OSD position includes channel name, date, week, 12-hour
system, date format, time format, OSD color, background color,
etc.

• To use the [Background Transparent] option, the camera must
should support the transparent function.

• To prevent overlapping texts, select appropriate font size and

location when entering the texts.

Video mask

The video mask function can cover some key areas on the video.

1. Select a channel which needs video mask setting.

2. Drag the mouse to set the video mask area.

PTZ privacy mask

1. Select a channel which needs PTZ privacy mask setting.

2. Control the PTZ through the shortcut PTZ control panel and

switch to the screen you want to cover.

3. Drag the mouse to set the video mask area and click [Add Area].

4. The added areas are displayed in the list on the right and they can
be deleted by clicking [Delete Region].

NOTE

An IP device which supports this function is needed for the function.

Motion

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Cameras] > [Motion] to enter the motion

detection setup screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Select a channel which needs motion detection setting.

3. Adjust the sensitivity by using the sensitivity slider. The higher the
sensitivity value, the more sensitive the motion detect.

4. Check [Enable] to enable the motion detection.

5. Click [Schedule] to set the alarm time.

6. Drag the mouse on the camera view screen to set the region to be

detected.

7. Set options on the [Activate] box. When the system detects
motion, it can activate audio, screen display, email, recording,

output, snapshot, word plan and single-screen.

8. After the setting is completed, the motion detection settings can
be copied to other channels.

9. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

Mask Alarm

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Cameras] > [Mask Alarm] to enter the

mask alarm setup screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Select a channel which needs video mask setting.

3. Check [Enable] to enable the mask alarm.

4. Click [Schedule] to set the alarm time.

5. Set options on the [Activate] box. When an alarm occurs, it can
activate audio, screen display, email, recording, output, snapshot,

Alarm Input

By setting the alarm input, the system can be linked for prompting and

recording when the alarm input alarm situation occurs in the front-

terminal IPC.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Cameras] > [Alarm Input] to enter the

alarm input setup screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Select an input port No. to be set.

3. Select an alarm type.

NOTE

• [N/O Alarm] can be selected when the alarm input port of the
device is nomally open.

• [N/C Alarm] can be selected when the alarm input port of the
device is nomally closed.

4. Check [Enable] to enable the alarm input.

5. Click [Schedule] to set the alarm time.

6. Set options on the [Activate] box. When an alarm occurs, it can
activate audio, screen display, email, recording, output, snapshot,

PTZ, word plan and single-screen.

7. After the setting is completed, the mask alarm settings can be
copied to other ports.

8. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

Video Loss

Set the video loss alarm and link the system for prompting and

recording when the video loss occurs in the channel.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Cameras] > [Video Loss] to enter the video

loss setting screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Select a channel which needs video loss setting.

3. Check [Enable] and click [Schedule] to set the alarming time of
video loss.

4. Set options on the [Activate] box. When there is a video loss,
it can activate audio, screen display, email, recording, output,
snapshot, PTZ and single-screen.

5. After the setting is completed, it can be copied to other channels.

6. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

PTZ Setup

Set the control protocol, serial port attribute, etc. for the PTZ channel.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Cameras] > [PTZ Setup] to enter the PTZ

setup screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Select a channel which needs PTZ setup.

3. Select PTZ control protocol, address and serial port of the channel.

4. After the setting is completed, it can be copied to other channels.

5. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

NOTE

Users can customize the attribute of serial port, set the bit rate, data
bit, stop bit and check bit of serial port and select to copy settings to
other channels after setting.

PTZ Control

PTZ Control Operation

1. In the login status, enter the preview status. Click a channel
preview screen which needs PTZ control operation and click the
[PTZ] button in the preview shortcut menu bar to enter the full
screen of channel. The PTZ control window pops up, as shown in
the gure below.

2. Select a channel which need to control PTZ.

3. Control the PTZ camera with functions in the PTZ control menu.

• Click

button to control the upward, downward, left

and right actions of PTZ.

• Click

to control the oblique action of PTZ.

• Click

to start or stop the horizontal automatic operation of

PTZ.

• Click [+] or [-] of the [Iris] option to control the lens iris.

• Click the progress bar to select the value or scroll the mouse

wheel to change the value, and users can also click [a] and [d]

to increase or decrease the control speed. The default value of

Consider ‘Flip’ and ‘3D’ settings of the camera when setting 3D

positioning on the system.

Preset control

1. Select a preset number in the pull down list of [Presets] option.

2. After controlling the PTZ action, click [Set] on the [Presets] option
to save the camera position.

3. Repeat seep 1 to 2 to set several presets.

4. Select a preset number and then click [Call] to move to the saved
camera position.

Pattern control

1. Click [Start] to start the pattern positioning.

2. Control the PTZ camera movement for the pattern.

3. Click [Stop] to stop the pattern positioning.

4. Click [Start Pattern] to control the PTZ camera movement
repeatedly.

Cruise control

1. Click [Cruise] to display the [Cruise Setup] screen as shown in the
gure below.

2. Select a cruise number in the pull-down list and click [Enable] to

enable property section.

3. Set the [Preset] and [Time(s)] options and click [New] to add a

cruise point. You can set 6 cruise point for the cruise setup.

4. Click [Apply] to apply the settings.

5. Click [Call] or [Stop] to start or stop cruise control.

6. Click [Conrm] to save the cruise setup setting.

PTZ control with USB Keyboard

• In the preview mode, use the[] [] button to select the channel
which needs PTZ control operation; after pressing P, the selected

channel is diaplayed in the single-screen of system at this time

and “PTZ ChnXX” is displayed at the top right corner of screen to
remind users that the system is in the PTZ control status of XX

channel currently.

• Logging out PTZ control mode: click the [ESC] button in the PTZ

control mode to return to the preview mode.

Recording Setting

Basic setting

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Recording Setting] > [Recording] > [Basic]

to enter the basic setting screen of recording as shown in the
gure below.

2. Select the channel to be set.

3. Select options for the recording.

• When [Audio Recording] is disabled, only video data is saved in

the recording le.

• When [Redundent] option is enabled, the recording and

snapshot image les will be saved in the redundant disk if there

is a redundent space.

• When [I-Frame Record] is enabled, the system record videos

with frame extraction so the hard disk space can be saved for

the video.

4. Select a recording type. Available options are [Schedule], [Port
Alarm], [Motion], [Video Loss], [Video Mask], [Motion/Port] and
[Motion&Port].

5. Drag in the time period area, the selected time area will be

updated to the selected recording type.

6. Set [PreRecord] and [PostRecord] options of alarm recording.
These options are convenient for analyzing the monitoring
information before and after the alarm occurrence.

• PreRecord : It is the recording time setting before the alarm

occurrence.

• PostRecord: It is the recording time setting after the alarm is

turned off.

7. Set [Dwell] option to set the the maximum video retention time.

8. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

Advanced Setting

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Recording Setting] > [Recording] >
[Advanced] to enter the advanced setting screen of recording as

shown in the gure below.

2. Select [channel] and [date] options.

3. Set [Enable ANR] option. If it is enabled, IP device will automatically
start the local recording when IP device is ofine, and it will
automatically upload the video saved locally into the system when

it is online again.

4. Set [PreRecord] and [PostRecord] options of alarm recording.

5. Set the time period and the recording type within this time

period. Click the time period enabling checkbox to make it be
selected. Input the start and end time of time period in the time

period input box. Select a recording type in the pull-down list of
“Recording Type”. Different recording types can be specied for

different time periods.

6. Copy the current settings to the others channels and dates.

7. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

Holidy plan

The holidy recording plan of current year can be set. After the holiday
plan is enabled, this plan is recorded preferentially during the holiday.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Recording Setting] > [Recording] >

[Holiday Plan] to enter the [Holiday Plan] screen as shown in the
gure below.

2. Select a holiday in the list and click [Edit] or double click to enter
the [Holiday Setup] screen.

Unless otherwise stated, Sunday is considered as the rst day of

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Recording Setting] > [Parameter] to enter

2. Set the [Not enough Disk Capacity] box to select how to record
when there is not enough space in the disk.

3. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

Diskgroup allocation

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Recording Setting] > [Diskgroup Allocation]

to enter the [Diskgroup Allocation] screen as shown in the gure
below.

2. Set the [Mode Selection] option between [Disk Group] or [Quota].

• Disk group : The hard disk attached to the system can be divided
into multiple disk groups and users can specify the disk group

where the recording le is located for each channel.

• Quota: Specify the maximum disk space which can be occupied
by the recording le of certain channel. Recording spaces can be
congured differently on each channel.

3. Set the related options according to the [Mode selection].

4. Click the [Apply] to save the setting.

Disk Group conguration

1. Select [Disk Group] in the [Mode Selection] option.

2. Set the [Disk Group] option. [Disk Group] option can be selected
from 1 to 8.

3. Select disk for disk group. Set the disks included in the disk group.
Check [Select All Disks] to select all available disks. A disk cannot
be included in multiple disk groups simultaneously.

4. Select channels for the selected disk group. Selected channels can
be recorded in this disk group.

5. Click the [Apply] to save the setting.

NOTE

The maximum storage bitrate of single disk group is 100Mbps and
there may be a risk of losing video if actual bitrate is higher than this
limit.

Picture] and [Multiple Picture].

• Set [Upload to FTP] check box to upload pictures to the selected
FTP. Click [FTP Setting] to go directly to the FTP setting screen.

• Set [Upload to Email] check box to upload pictures to the
selected Email address. Click [Email Setup] to go directly to the
Email setting screen.

5. The snapshot settings of current channel can be copied to

specied channels by using [Copy to] option.

6. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

NOTE

The system can capture 2000 pictures within 24 hours in each

channel at most and the number of captured pictures shall be reset
after the system is rebooted.

Rebuild Index

When an exception of hard disk occus or video is lost, the lost records
can be found by rebuilding the index.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Recording Setting] > [Rebuild Index] to

enter the [Rebuild Index] screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Click [Continous] to start the rebuilding operation.

3. In the index rebuilding process, users can log out the interface for
other operations except the video playback.

Single-frame playback

When the video is playback, view the detail changes of screen by

single-frame playback.

or to play the video frame by frame. Each time is

clicked, steps a frame forward and each time is clicked, the button
steps a frame backward. the single-frame playback interface is shown

Digital zoom

1. Click to enter the digital zoom control screen as shown in the

gure below.

2. Scroll the mouse wheel for sizing the zoomed area.

3. Drag the red box in the small screen in the corner to move the

Snapshot

You can take a snapshot in the video playback process.

NOTE

Captured pictures can only be saved in the external storage. Befor
taking a snapshot, make sure that the external storage has been
connected to the USB port correctly.

Progress bar preview

When you move the mouse cursor to the progress bar in [Normal],

[Event], or [Tag] with single-screen playback, the system will

automatically display the images corresponding selected time.

1. Select the playback mode option to [Normal], [Event], or [Tag].

2. Move the mouse cursor to the anywhere in the progress bar. The
preview image appears above the progress bar.

3. Click the preview image to move the playback position.

NOTE

• When it is prompted that the decoding performance reaches the

upper limit, the progress bar preview operation is not available.

• When the current channel does not have video at the selected

time, the progress bar preview operation is not available.

• There is no progress bar preview during non-single-screen.

Adding a tag

In the playback screen, click to add the default tag or click to
input the tag name and add the customized tag.

Managing tags

In the playback screen, click to enter the [Tag Management] screen

as shown in the gure below.

Click to modify tag name and click [X] to delete the selected tag.

Normal Playback

Search and play the recording les according to the selected channel

and date.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Playback] and select [Normal] in the

playback mode option as shown in the gure below.

2. Select a channel of video playback.

3. Click the date which needs video playback on the calendar.
The system plays the recording les which meet conditions

automatically.

• Use the “Full Screen” button at the top right corner to enter the

full-screen playback.

NOTE

16-channel synchronous playback is supported at most and the
playback performance is different according to the differences of
device models and videos.

Event Playback

Inquire the recording les of certain channel in a certain period

according to the event type (port alarm, motion detection, video lost,

video mask and VCA), and play the video from the generated list which

meets query conditions.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Playback] and select [Event] in the

playback mode option as shown in the gure below.

2. Select the event type at the top right corner of playback interface.

3. Select a channel of video playback.

4. Select a date which needs video playback.

5. The system plays the recording les which meet conditions

automatically.

NOTE

During the event playback, the player will skip through the video

according to the alarm time period of video and skip the time periods

without alarm recording.

Tag Playback

The video tag function can help users record the relevant personnel or
site information at a certain time point during playing back the video
so that the information can be taken out later at any time to conduct
search and positioning operation for the video.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Playback] and select [Tag] in the playback

mode option as shown in the gure below.

2. Select a channel of video playback.

3. Input the tag key words. If key words are not input, search all tags
of selected channel in the specied date by default.

4. Select the date and click [Search]. Searched tags will be listed.

5. Select a tag on the tag list. The playback of the tag point starts
automatically.

NOTE

The playback advance time and playback delay time can be set by
oneself.

Smart Playback

Smart playback means that the VCA operation is conducted for the

recording les. Four kinds of VCA operations are supported currently.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Playback] and select [Smart] in the

playback mode option as shown in the gure below.

2. After the channel and date are selected, the playback operation is
started.

3. Click

at playback control bar to display the smart retrieval

options as shown in the gure below.

4. Select a smart retrieval option.

Tripwire and Perimeter Retrieval

1. Click the or button to enter the line drawing screen. Draw
the line with dragging the mouse on the screen as shown in the

gure below.

2. Click the button to start search. In the search process, the

words of [VCA SEARCHING……] will be displayed at the upper left
of screen and also the search progress and result will be displayed

on the progress bar simultaneously.

3. In the search process, the system jumps to the search result and
start playing automatically.

4. In the search process, the search will stop automatically by clicking

other channels or other dates. You can also stop searching by
clicking [Stop Search] on the playback control bar.

Face Detection

1. Click to enter the [Face detection] mode screen.

2. Click the

button to start search. In the search process, the

words of “VCA SEARCHING……” will be displayed at the upper left
of screen, the search progress will be displayed on the progress

bar and the search result can be displayed on the right side
simultaneously.

3. In the search process, the search will stop by clicking the [Stop
Search] button. The video will be positioned to the corresponding

position by clicking the search result on the right side.

Plate licensing recognition

1. Click to enter the [Plate licensing recognition] mode screen.

2. Click the

button to start search. In the search process, the

words of “VCA SEARCHING……” will be displayed at the upper left
of screen, the search progress will be displayed on the progress

bar and the search result can be displayed on the right side
simultaneously.

3. In the search process, the search will stop by clicking the [Stop
Search] button. The video will be positioned to the corresponding

position by clicking the search result on the right side.

Time-phased Playback

The recording time of certain channel within a day is averaged to

multiple screens and playe them simultaneously in [Time-phased]
mode. The time-phased mode can effectively improve the playback

efciency.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Playback] and select [Time-phased] in the

playback mode option as shown in the gure below.

2. Select a playback channel and set the number of split screens;
take the 4-split-screen setting as an example in the gure.

3. Select the date on the right side or click the “Play” button for

time-phased playback.

Picture playback

Play the pictures of selected channel in [Picture] mode as shown in
the gure below.

NOTE

• When you select the play interval, it play the pictures
automatically.

• Click left and right sides of picture to display the previous or next
picture.

External File Playback

The recording les stored in external storage connected to the USB

port can be played in [External File] mode.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Playback] and select [External File] in the

playback mode option as shown in the gure below.

2. Select a external storage in the [Device] option.

3. Select [Refresh] and read the external storage mediums.

4. Select a le to be played on the le browser.

5. Click [Play] to start playback.

NOTE

Please make sure that the external starage is connected to the USB

port of the system before the external le playback.

Playback by Log

Play the recording les corresponding to log information.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Log Management] to

enter the log management screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Set [Channel], [Type], [Start time] and [End Time] options and
click [Search].

3. Double click a log in the log list to enter the pop-up playback

screen as shown in the gure below.

NOTE

• Playback progress can be controlled by the playback time bar at
the bottom.

• The channel and time point corresponding to the selected log

shall have recording les to play.

Backup

The recording les in the system can be backed up to other disk or

USB storage devices.

General Backup

1. Select [Main Menu] >[Backup] to enter the backup screen as

shown in the gure below.

2. Select channels that you want to backup.

3. Select [Range] and [Type] option.

4. Set [Start Date], [Start Time], [End Date] and [End Time] options.

5. Click [Inquiry and backup] to search video les or snapshot les in
the selected period. Search result list will be displayed as shown in
the gure below.

• Click [Recording Clip] to display the [Recording Clip] screen. You

can easily nd the recording le in particular date and set easy

to set the date and time in [Recording Clip] screen.

6. Check the video les or snapshot les you want to backup on the

list and click [Backup] to select the target disk.

7. Select [Target] and [File Format] options and click [Apply] to start
backup.

8. Click [Conrm] to nish backup.

System Setting

General Setting

Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [General Setting] to enter

the general setting screen as shown in the gure below.

You can set language, screensaver time, time zone, time format, time
and mouse cursor speed on this section.

Input [IP address], [Port Setting] and [Interval] options in the [NTP

Setting] box. The device shall conduct the timing with server regularly

and the minimum time interval is 1 minute.

Set all the options and click [Apply] to take effect the settings.

Network Setting

NIC 1

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Network Setting] >
[NIC1] to enter the NIC1 setting screen as shown in the gure
below.

2. Select [Auto Get IP Address] or [Manual Setup IP Address]. If

selecting auto getting, the system will get IP address from the
DHCP in network after reboot.

3. When selecting [Manual Setup IP Address], the IP address,

subnetmask, gateway and other information of device shall be
specied.

4. Click [Apply] to save settings and take effect after device is
rebooted.

PPPOE

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Network Setting]
> [PPPOE] to enter the PPPOE setting screen as shown in the
gure below.

2. Set whether to boot auto-dial.

3. Input the username and password of PPPOE dialing.

4. Click [Connect] to start the PPPOE dialing operation immediately.

5. Click [Apply] to save the setting of PPPOE dialing in the system. If

the [Boot Auto-Dial] is selected, the system will dial automatically

after next startup.

NOTE

If the dialing cannot be operated normally due to network

interruption or replacement of cat, please click [Disconnect] manually
and then try to dial again.

Permission

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Network Setting] >
[Permission] to enter the IP permission setting screen as shown in
the gure below.

2. Select a mode of IP permission among [Disable], [Whitelist] or
[Blacklist].

3. Input the IP address which needs to disable access or allows

access in the input box of IP address.

4. Click [Add] to add the IP address to the list.

5. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

DDNS

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Network Setting] >
[DDNS] to enter the DDNS setting screen as shown in the gure
below.

2. Set [Enable] check box to enable DDNS service.

FTP

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Network Setting]
> [FTP] to enter the FTP setting screen as shown in the gure
below.

2. Input the [FTP server address], [Port Number], [Path], [Username]

and [Password] elds.

3. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

Email

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Network Setting] >
[Email] to enter the Email setting screen as shown in the gure
below.

2. Input [Email server address], [Port Number], [Username],

[Password], [Encryption], [Subject] and recipient addresses.

3. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

Web Service

Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Network Setting] > [Web
Service] to enter the other setting screen as shown in the gure
below.

FTP and HTTP ports of device can be modied in this interface. Users
can also set whether to enable UPNP and SNMP service. The real­time trafc of network can be monitored and the network detection

function can be conducted simultaneously.

Disk Management

Basic conguration

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Disk Management] >

[Basic Conguration] to enter the basic disk donguration screen
as shown in the gure below.

2. The total remaining capacity and total capacity of current hard
disk can be displayed in the interface.

3. Click [Hot-swap] after a disk in the list is selected, the system
pop-up screen appears as below. Click [Conrm] to srart

operation.

NOTE

The [Hot-swap] button will not be displayed for the devices which do
not support the hot-swap function.

4. Set whether to detect all the disks after rebooting and whether to

repair the damaged disks.

5. Click [Do] to initialize the selected disk. Whole data in the disk will

be erased.

NOTE

The le system will not be displayed for the devices which do not

support the initialization format.

6. Set the disk purpose in the [Disk used for] option.

NFS setting

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Disk Management]

> [NFS Setup] to enter the NFS setting screen as shown in the
gure below.

2. Set the IP address (domain name) and directory of “NFS” service.

3. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

S.M.A.R.T.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Disk Management] >

[S.M.A.R.T] to enter the SMART setting screen as shown in the
gure below.

2. Select the disk to be detected, check [Start S.M.A.R.T. Detection]
and enable the S.M.A.R.T. detection function of this disk. S.M.A.R.T.
detection information is displayed in the corresponding interface.

3. When [Do not use this hard disk if self-evaluation is not passed]
is selected, do not use this hard disk if there is a problem in self­evaluation after the S.M.A.R.T. detection of hard disk.

Hot-spare Setting

Enable the hot-spare system when a failure happens on a device in the
hot-spare system, the system will automatically switches to the hot­spare machine to work so as to ensure the continuity of video.
A hot-spare system consists of several working machines and hot­spare machines and a working machine can set at most 16 hot-spare
machines. When the hot-spare machine detects that the working
machine is ofine, the hot-spare machine will actively connect to the
IP device connected with working machine and start the video; when
the hot-spare machine detects that the working machine is online, it
will actively disconnect the connection with IP device and upload the
video backed up previously to the working machine.

Working machine setting

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Hot-spare Setting] to

enter the Hot-spare setting screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Set the [Operation Mode] option to [Normal Mode].

Hot-spare machine setting

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Hot-spare Setting] to
enter the Hot-spare setting screen.

2. Set the [Operation Mode] option to [Hot-spare Mode].

3. Click [Apply] to enter hot-spare mode after rebooting.

4. After the rebooting, only the necessary conguration functions

are reserved by the hot-spare machine.

5. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Hot-spare Setting] to
enter the Hot-spare setting screen.

6. Click [Refresh] to search and display the working macines which
open the hot-spare function on the list. Select a working machine
which need the hot-spare operation.

7. Click [Add] to enter the login username and password of this
working machine. After the verication, the IP and connection
status of this working machine will be displayed in the working

machine status list.

8. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

9. In the hot-spare setting screen of hot-spare machine, select

[Normal Mode] to switch the hot-spare machine to working

machine for use.

NOTE

• After the hot-spare machine is changed to a working machine,
the default setting restoration is needed manually.

• The system time of working machine and hot-spare machine
shall be consistent.

Conguration

Reset to default

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] >

[Conguration] > [Reset to default] to enter the
default resetting screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Select the options and c lick [Continous] to reset the system to
the default and the system is rebooted automatically.

Conguration Export

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Conguration] >
[Conguration Export] to enter the conguration export screen
as shown in the gure below.

2. Set the exported le name and path and click [Export] to export
the device conguration.

Conguration Import

Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Conguration] >
[Conguration Import] to enter the conguration import screen
as shown in the gure below. If multiple devices use the same
conguration, the device congurations can be saved by the [Import]

operation.

NOTE

Device will reboot automatically after the conguration is imported

successfully

Log Management

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Log Management] to

enter the log management screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Set [Channel], [Type], [Start time] and [End time] options and
click [Search] to search logs.

3. Click < or > to display previous page or next page. You can also
input the page number and click

to move to the page.

4. Select a log and click [Details] to show the log details.

5. Click [Export Current] or [Export All] to save the log le to the
specied path.

Maintenance

Device maintenance

Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Maintenance] > [Device

maintenance] to enter the device information screen as shown in the
gure below. The device name, number and auto reboot time can be

set.

System upgrade

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Maintenance ] >

[System Upgrade] to enter the system upgrade screen as shown
in the gure below.

2. Select a upgrade mode between [Upgrade from local] or [Upgrade

from FTP].

• Upgrade from local : Click [Files] and select a le to be upgraded
in the pop up menu and click [Upgrade] to start upgrade.

• Upgrade from FTP : Input FTP server address, username,

password and other information and click [Upgrade] to start

upgrade.

NOTE

• After the upgrade is successful, the device will reboot
automatically and run the program of new version after reboot.

• If it is prompted that the upgrade fails or the device cannot run
normally after reboot, please contact the supplier for processing.

Storage error

1. Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Maintenance] >

[Storage error] to enter the storage error setting screen as shown
in the gure below.

2. After the exception situation is checked, the corresponding link
actions of system including [OSD], [Buzzer], [Upload Center] and
[Email Alert] options can be checked.

Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Information] > [System

Information] show system information as shown in the gure below.

Other Setting

Serial port setting

Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Other Setting] >

[Serial Port Setup] to enter the serial port setting screen as shown in
the gure below.

The [Bit rate], [Data Bit], [Stop Bit], [Check] and [Operation Mode]
options of local serial port can be set in this screen.

NOTE

Local serial port can be used for external keyboard and cannot be
used to control the analog PTZ.

Video encryption

Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Other Setting] >
[Video Encryption] to enter the video encryption setting screen as

shown in the gure below.

Protocol management

Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Other Setting] > [Protocol
Management] to enter the protocol management setting screen as

shown in the gure below. The set device has protocols and addible

protocols.

Type Management

Select [Main Menu] > [System Setting] > [Other Setting] >
[Type Management] to enter the type management setting screen as

shown in the gure below. Set the recording type name.

Alarm Setting

Alarm Input

The recording can be conducted when an alarm occurs on the local

system and the alarm situation needs to be input through the alarm
input setting.

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Alarm Setting] > [Alarm Input] to enter

the alarm input setting screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Select the [Input port No.] to be set. The input port number of
local and host alarm can be set.

3. Select the [Circuit Type] option.

NOTE

• [N/O Alarm] can be selected when the alarm input port of the
device is nomally open.

• [N/C Alarm] can be selected when the alarm input port of the
device is nomally closed.

4. Check [Enable] to enable the alarm input.

5. Click [Schedule] to set the alarm time.

6. Set options on the [Activate] box. When an alarm occurs, it can
activate audio, email, recording, output, snapshot, PTZ and single­screen.

7. Current alarm input settnig can be copied to the other alarm input
port by using [Copy to Port] option.

8. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

Alarm Output

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Alarm Setting] > [Alarm Output] to enter

the alarm output setting screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Set the output port number to be set. The output port No. of local
and host alarm can be set.

3. Set the output port alias. The customized name can be set for the
current output port.

4. Select the alarm type. The type requirement must be consistent

with that of external device input signal of alarm output port.

NOTE

• [N/O Alarm] can be selected when the alarm output port of the
device is nomally open.

• [N/C Alarm] can be selected when the alarm output port of the
device is nomally closed.

5. Set the signal delay time.

6. Set the date and time for the alarm. The date setting can be used

with time period cooperatively.

7. Current alarm output settnig can be copied to the other alarm
output port by using [Copy to Port] option.

8. Click [Apply] to save the set setting.

Alarm Host

Alarm host is added to expand the alarm input and output ports of
device on the basis of local alarm input and output ports of device. If

the network alarm host and serial port alarm host are added at the
same time, the port number of network alarm host is less than that of

serial port alarm host.

Network Alarm Host

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Alarm Setting] > [Alarm Host] > [Network
Alarm Host] to enter the network alarm host setting screen as
shown in the gure below.

2. Select [Alarm Server] option for the network alarm.

3. Check [Enable] to enable the network alarm host.

4. Set the IP address of network alarm host.

5. Set the communication port of network alarm host.

6. Set the number of alarm input ports of network alarm host.

7. Set the number of alarm output ports of network alarm host.

Serial

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Alarm Setting] > [Alarm Host] > [Serial]

to enter the serial port alarm host setting screen as shown in the
gure below.

2. Select [Alarm Server] option for the serial port alarm.

3. Check [Enable] to enable the serial port alarm host.

4. Set the communication port number for the serial port alarm host.

5. Set the address of serial port alarm host.

6. Set the number of alarm input ports of serial port alarm host.

7. Set the number of alarm outnput ports of serial port alarm host.

Manual Alarm

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Alarm Setting] > [Manual Alarm] to enter

the manual alarm setting screen as shown in the gure below.

2. Select an alarm output port and click [Activate] or [Clear] to
activate or clear the control. The current status of this port is
displayed in the status bar of alarm output port.

Click [Activate All] or [Clear All] to activate or clear the control for

all alarm output ports in the list

Click [Refresh] to get the current attribute and status of alarm

output port.

Clear Alarm

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Alarm Setting] > [Clear Alarm] to enter

the alarm clearing setting screen as shown in the gure below.

2. In the manual alarm clearing screen, click [Clear] of each option to
eliminate correspoding type of alarm.

User management

Basic Configuration

Adding a user

1. Select [Main Menu] > [Users] > [Basic Conguration] to enter the
user management setting screen as shown in the gure below.

NOTE

The Default user is added; after logging out, the user defaults to the
default user and only the local preview permission of this user can be
congured.

2. Click [Add User] and set the afliated group, username and
password as shown in the gure below:

NOTE

• After the user is added successfully, the information of added

user can be displayed in [Basic Conguration] >[User List].

• At most 14 users can be added.

• There are 4 user groups in the system, including “Guest”, “Basic

User”, “Super User” and “Administrator”.

- Guest : video browsing

- Basic User : video browsing+device control

- Super User : video browsing+device control+setup setting

- Administrator : video browsing+device control+setup
setting+user management

User permission management

1. Click the in the user list to display the user permission editing

window as shown in the gure below:

2. Set the permission for the user. Available options are differ
depending on the user group of the selected user.

• Local permission tab shows the operation permission for the

local system.

• Remote permission tab shows the operating permission for

client operation.

• You can set different channel permission to each user on the

Channel Permission tab.

User Editing

Click the in the user list to display the user editing window as
shown in the gure below:

NOTE

There are image unlocking and code protection setting options only

when the user is admin; the original password needs to be input rst
when the admin user is edited and “Conrm” is clicked.

Select [Main Menu] > [Users] > [Online User] to enter the online user

screen as shown in the gure below.

You can check the connected users on the list. Click [Refresh] to
update the user list and click [Disconnected] to force disconnect a

specic user.

Smart Configuration

Enable Arithmatic

1. Select [Main Menu] > [VCA] > [Smart conguration] > [Enable
Arithmatic] to enter the arithmetic enabling screen as shown in
the gure below.

2. Select a channel to be set.

3. Select whether to enable system VCA or camera VCA.

4. Check the arithmetic.

5. Click the [Save] to save the setting.

6. Click [Next] to set the event parameter setting.

Event Parameter

1. Select [Main Menu] > [VCA] > [Smart conguration] > [Event

Parameter] to enter the [Event Parameter] setting screen as

shown in the gure below.

2. Set [Event Parameter] options:

• Rule number : select the VCA rule; at most 8 rules are supported
in each channel.

• Enable : set whether the rule will take effect.

• Rule name : set the rule name.

• Event : Select a VCA event among [Tripwire], [Double Tripwire],
[Perimeter], [Object Abandon], [Object Missing] and [Loiter].

• No-alarm color : It refers to the color of sideline of rule area

when VCA alarms do not occur.

• Alarm color : It refers to the color of sideline of rule area when a
VCA alarm occurs.

• Percentage : When the proportion of whole target which enters

the alarm area exceeds the set proportion, an alarm will be

activated. The percentage value is taken from 0 to 100.

• Display Rule: Display rule is displayed on the video.

• Display Alarm Counts : Alarm counts are displayed on the video

and the counts are accumulated once when an alarm occurs.

• Two-way Alarm : Check this option to detects alarm regardless
of object direction.

3. Click [Next] to set the target parameter setting.

Target Parameter

1. Select [Main Menu] > [VCA] > [Smart conguration] > [Target

Parameter] to enter the [Target Parameter] setting screen as

shown in the gure below.

2. Users can set the target color, alarm color, detection sensitivity
and other information.

3. Click [Next] to set the alarm setting.

6. Click [Apply] to save the setting.

VCA Report

Select [Main Menu] > [VCA] > [VCA Report] to enter the VCA report

screen as shown in the gure below.

Select the channel number and report type, and then click [Statistics]
to display the statistics histogram. Select the statistics time and click
[Export] to export the corresponding report.

Alarm Information

Select [Main Menu] > [VCA] > [Alarm Information] to display the real-

time alarm information as shown in the gure below.

The real-time alarm information of selected channel can be viewed in

this interface.
