Thank you for selecting the "L-06C".
Before or while using the L-06C, be sure to thoroughly read this manual and the individual manual for other operation devices to ensure its correct use. For further information, contact "docomo Information Center" on the last page of this manual. The L-06C is designed to be your close partner. Treat it carefully at all times to ensure long-term performance.

Before Using the FOMA Terminal

• FOMA terminal uses wireless, therefore, it may not function in locations where it is difficult for radio waves to penetrate or areas where radio wave signals are weak, such as tunnels, underground passages, and some buildings or places out of the FOMA service area. Even when you are on a higher floor of a tall building or condominium and nothing blocks your view outside, this terminal may not be able to receive or transmit signals. Also communication may be interrupted even when the Antenna Indication Lamp indicates a strong signal reception with four antenna indication bars.
• Use this terminal in ways that do not disturb others in public places, crowded locations, or quiet locations.
• Your FOMA terminal encodes communication content by wireless. When you are operating your FOMA terminal while moving to a location subject to weaker radio wave conditions, the transmitted data may not be correctly decoded and as a result the decoded content may differ somewhat from the actual content.
• This FOMA terminal is supported in FOMA Plus-Areas and FOMA HIGH-SPEED Areas.
• This FOMA terminal can be used only via the FOMA network provided by DOCOMO and DOCOMO's roaming area.
• Keep a separate record of any information stored on this FOMA terminal and store the copies in a safe location. DOCOMO assumes no responsibility for any loss of your data resulting from malfunctions, repair, changing of the model or other handling of FOMA terminal.
• As with PCs, some applications that you perform installation may give the FOMA terminal instability of the operation, or may send your location information or personal information registered to the FOMA terminal to outside via the Internet and the information may be used improperly. Therefore, verify the supplier and operationing conditions of the applications before using.

Notes on Wireless LAN (WLAN)
Wireless LAN (WLAN) uses radio waves to enable communications between compatible devices, thus allowing connection to a local area network from anywhere within range. However, there is a risk of data interception by malicious third parties unless security is established. Users are advised to assess their responsibilities and accordingly configure security settings.
■ Wireless LAN
Do not use wireless LAN near magnetic devices such as electrical appliances or AV/OA devices, or in radio waves.
- Magnetism or radio waves may increase noises or disable
communications (especially when using a microwave oven).
- When using near TV, radio, etc., reception interference may occur, or
channels on the TV screen may be disturbed.
- If there are multiple wireless LAN access points nearby and the
same channel is used, search may not work correctly.
■ 2.4 GHz device cautions
The operating frequency band of the WLAN device is used by home electric appliances such as microwave oven, industrial, scientific, consumer and medical equipment including premises radio stations for identifying mobile units used in the manufacturing lines of plants stations (radio stations requiring no license) and amateur radio stations (radio stations requiring a license).
1. Before using the device, confirm that premises radio stations for identifying mobile units, specified low power radio stations and amateur radio stations are not being operated nearby.
2. If the device causes harmful radio interference to premises radio stations for identifying mobile units, immediately change the frequency band or stop use, and contact "docomo Information Center" on the last page of this manual for crosstalk avoidance, etc. (e.g. partition setup).
3. If the device causes radio interference to specified low power radio stations or amateur radio stations, contact "docomo Information Center" on the last page of this manual.

Internal Battery Life
• The internal battery is a consumable. The usage time of the battery per one charge decreases gradually each time the battery is used.
• When the usage time from one charge becomes about half of a new internal battery, the life of the internal battery is assumed to be almost over. We recommend that you replace the battery ahead of time. Depending on the internal battery conditions, contact "Repairs" (in Japanese only) at the back of this instruction manual or a repair counter specified by DOCOMO.

Charging
• Make sure to use the supplied AC Adapter L01 when charging. For details, refer to manual for the AC Adapter L01.
• The AC Adapter L01 is compatible with AC100-240V.
• The AC adapter has an AC 100V plug (Japanese specification). When using an AC 100-240V adapter overseas, you will need a converter plug adapter compatible with local voltage. Do not charge the FOMA terminal using a travel transformer.
• Do not force the connector when inserting/pulling it out. Instead, insert/ pull it out slowly.
• If you start charging when the internal battery is empty, you may not be able to power ON the FOMA terminal for a while.
• If you start charging with the power OFF, the power automatically turns ON. You should therefore not charge in places where the use of mobile phones is forbidden, such as in airplanes or hospitals.
• FOMA terminal cannot be charged if you try to charge by connecting PC via USB data cable (sample).
• Make sure to remove power code after completing the charge.
Do not charge for a long time (several days)
• If you carry on charging the FOMA terminal after it has been fully charged, the internal battery will continue supplying power to the FOMA terminal. This will reduce the actual usage time and deplete the battery. If this happens, please charge it again correctly. Before recharging, remove the AC Adapter L01 from the FOMA terminal and then reconnect.
