Lifting and moving the TV
Please note the following advice to prevent the TV from being

scratched or damaged and for safe transportation regardless of its type

and size.
y It is recommended to move the TV in the box or packing material
that the TV originally came in.
y B efore moving or lifting the TV, disconnect the power cord and all
cables.
y When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid
damage.
y Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame rmly. Make sure not to
hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.
y When transpor ting the TV, do not expose the TV to jolts or excessive
vibration.
y When transpor ting the TV, keep the TV upright, never turn the TV on
its side or tilt towards the left or right.
y D o not apply excessive pressure to cause exing/bending of frame
chassis as it may damage screen.
CAUTION
y Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage
to the screen.
y When handling the TV, be careful not to damage the protruding
joystick button. (Depending on model)
Setting up the TV
CAUTION
y When attaching the stand to the TV set, place the screen facing
down on a cushioned table or at surface to protect the screen from
scratches.
y D o not carry the TV upside-down by holding the stand body (or
stand base) as this may cause it to fall o, resulting in damage or
injury.
y D o not apply foreign substances (oils, lubricants, etc.) to the screw
parts when assembling the product. (Doing so may damage the
product.)
NOTE
y Lift up the latch at the bottom of the stand base and detach the
stand base from the TV. (Only TK410*, TK41EV)
y Remove the stand before installing the TV on a wall mount by
performing the stand attachment in reverse. (Only TK420*)
y TK600 model does not require the additional assembly.

Using the kensington security system

manual provided with the Kensington security system or visit http://www.kensington.com. Connect the Kensington security system cable

Mounting on a wall
For proper ventilation, allow a clearance of 100 mm on each side and
from the wall. Detailed installation instructions are available from your
dealer, see the optional Tilt Wall Mounting Bracket Installation and

If you intend to mount the TV to a wall, attach Wall mounting interface
(optional parts) to the back of the TV.
When you install the TV using the wall mounting interface (optional
parts), attach it carefully so it will not drop.
1 If you use screw longer than standard, the TV might be damaged
internally.
2 If you use improper screw, the product might be damaged and
drop from mounted position. In this case, LG Electronics is not
responsible for it.

Connections (notications)
Connect various external devices to the TV and switch input modes

Available external devices are: HD receivers, DVD players, VCRs, audio
systems, USB storage devices, PC, gaming devices, and other external
devices.
NOTE
y The external device connection may dier from the model.y Connect external devices to the TV regardless of the order of the
TV port.
y If you record a TV programme on a DVD recorder or VCR, make
sure to connect the TV signal input cable to the TV through a DVD
recorder or VCR. For more information of recording, refer to the
manual provided with the connected device.
y Refer to the external equipment’s manual for operating instructions.y If you connect a gaming device to the TV, use the cable supplied
with the gaming device.
y In PC mode, there may be noise associated with the resolution,
vertical pattern, contrast or brightness. If noise is present, change
the PC output to another resolution, change the refresh rate to
another rate or adjust the brightness and contrast on the Picture
menu until the picture is clear.
y In PC mode, some resolution settings may not work properly
depending on the graphics card.
Antenna connection
Connect the TV to a wall antenna socket with an RF cable (75 Ω) (Not
Provided).
y Use a signal splitter to use more than 2 TVs.y If the image qualit y is poor, install a signal amplier properly to
improve the image quality.
y If the image qualit y is poor with an antenna connected, try to
realign the antenna in the correct direction.

Satellite dish connection

Connect the TV to a satellite dish to a satellite socket with a satellite
RF cable (75 Ω).

View the encrypted (pay) services in digital TV mode.
y Check if the CI module is inser ted into the PCMCIA card slot in the
right direction. If the module is not inserted properly, this can cause
damage to the TV and the PCMCIA card slot.
y If the TV does not display any video and audio when CI+ CAM is
connected, please contact to the Terrestrial/Cable/Satellite Service
Operator.
Other connections
Connect your TV to external devices. For the best picture and audio
quality, connect the external device and the TV with the HDMI cable.
Some separate cable is not provided.
y USB por t supports 0.5 A electric current. If you need more electric
current in case of HDD, use the separate power adaptor.

closer to 100, the deeper the colour.
y Tint : Adjusts the colour balance between red and green displayed
on the screen. The closer to Red 50, the more red the colour will be.

y Colour Temperature : Adjusts the colour temperature from cold
to warm.

when they adjust colour with a test pattern. They can select from six
colour areas (Red / Green / Blue / Cyan / Magenta / Yellow) without
aecting other colours. For normal images, adjustments may not
result in noticeable colour changes.

y Black Stabilizer : Objec ts can be seen more clearly on a dark screen
by adjusting the black levels. Increasing the Black Stabilizer
value brightens the low gray levels on the screen. (You can easily
distinguish objects on a dark game screen.) Reducing the Black Stabilizer value darkens the low gray levels and increases the
dynamic contrast on the screen.
- You can congure the detailed settings for Gaming Mode using
the key on the remote control.
- You can set DAS Mode only when the frequency for vertical input
is 50 Hz/60 Hz.
- When PIP is turned on, the DAS Mode is unavailable.

output before the video because of the time the TV takes to process
the video input.

To use SIMPLINK

SIMPLINK is a feature that enables you to control and manage various
multimedia devices conveniently via the SIMPLINK menu.
1 Connect the TV’s terminal and the SIMPLINK device’s
HDMI output terminal using an HDMI cable.
2 Select (Settings)GeneralSIMPLINK. SIMPLINK menu
window appears.
3 In SIMPLINK Setting window, set SIMPLINK function to On.
4 Congure the Auto Power Sync settings to On or O.
5 In SIMPLINK menu window, selects the device you want to
control.
y You can also set the SIMPLINK in (Home) Inputs
SIMPLINK.
y This function is only compatible with devices with the SIMPLINK
logo.
y To use the SIMPLINK function, you need to use a high-speed HDMI®
cable (with CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) feature added).
High-speed HDMI® cables have the No. 13 pin connected for
information exchange between devices.
y If you switch to another input, the SIMPLINK device will stop. y If a third-par ty device with the HDMI-CEC function is also used, the
SIMPLINK device may not work normally.
y If you select or play media from a the device with a home theatre
function, the HT Speaker is automatically connected.
SIMPLINK function description
y Direc t Play : Plays the multimedia device on the TV instantly.y Controlling devices with the TV remote control : Manages the
multimedia device with the TV remote control.
y Main Power Off : If Auto Power Sync is set to On in the SIMPLINK
settings and turn o your TV, the devices connected to your TV via
SIMPLINK will also be turned o.
y Main Power On : If Auto Power Sync is set to On in the SIMPLINK
settings, turning on a SIMPLINK-linked device will turn the TV on.
(Behavior may vary depending on connected device.)
y S peaker : [Depending on model] Select speaker either on the home
theatre unit or the TV.
To set password
(Settings) Safety Set Password
Sets or changes the TV password.
y The initial password is set to ‘0000’.y When France is selected for Country, password is not ‘0000’ but
‘1234’.
y When France is selected for Country, password cannot be set to
‘0000’.
To return Reset to Initial Settings
(Settings) General Reset to Initial Settings
All stored information is deleted and TV settings are reset.
The TV turns itself o and back on, and all settings are reset.
y When Lock System is in place, a pop-up window appears and asks
for password.
y D o not turn o the power during initialization.
To remove the USB device
Select the connected USB HDD from (Home)Inputs and
select the Eject button to disconnect the USB HDD storage device.
When you see a message that the USB device has been removed,
separate the device from the TV.
y Once a USB device has been selec ted for removal, it can no longer be
read. Remove the USB storage device and then re-connect it.

Using a USB storage device - warning
y If the USB storage device has a built-in auto recognition program or

y Some USB storage devices may not work or may work incorrectly.

y If a USB HDD with power-saving function does not work properly,

Cleaning your TV

Clean your TV regularly to keep the best performance and to extend
the product lifespan.
y Make sure to turn the power o and disconnect the power cord and
all other cables rst.
y When the TV is left unattended and unused for a long time,
disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet to prevent possible
damage from lightning or power surges.
Screen, frame, cabinet and stand
To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and
soft cloth.
To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in
clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with
a dry cloth.
y Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage
to the screen.
y D o not push, rub, or hit the screen surface with your ngernail or a
sharp object, as this may result in scratches and image distortions.
y D o not use any chemicals as this may damage the product.y D o not spray liquid onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may
result in re, electric shock, or malfunction.
Power cord
Remove the accumulated dust or dirt on the power cord regularly.
Preventing “Image burn” or “Burn-in”
on your TV screen
y If a xed image displays on the TV screen for a long period of time,
it will be imprinted and become a permanent disgurement on
the screen. This is “image burn” or “burn-in” and not covered by the
warranty.
y If the aspec t ratio of the TV is set to 4:3 for a long period of time,
image burn may occur on the letterboxed area of the screen.
y Avoid displaying a xed image on the TV screen for a long period of
time (2 or more hours for LCD) to prevent image burn.
Cannot control the TV with the remote control.
y Check the remote control sensor on the product and try again.y Check if there is any obstacle between the product and the remote
control.
y Check if the batteries are still working and properly installed
( to , to ).
No image display and no sound is produced.
y Check if the product is turned on.y Check if the power cord is connected to a wall outlet.y Check if there is a problem in the wall outlet by connecting other
products.
The TV turns o suddenly.
y Check the power control settings. The power supply may be
interrupted.
y Check if the Auto Power Off (Depending on model) /
Sleep Timer / Timer Power Off feature is activated in the Timers
settings.
y If there is no signal while the TV is on, the TV will turn o
automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.
When connecting to the PC (HDMI/RGB), 'No Signal', 'Check
signal cable' or ‘Unsupported Format’ is displayed.
y Turn the TV o/on using the remote control.y Reconnec t the HDMI/RGB cable.y Restar t the PC with the TV on.
If TV is turned o automatically.
y If Timer Power On is enabled, the TV will be turned on at the
specied time. If you do not operate the TV for two hours, the TV will
be turned o automatically.
y To disable this function, use your remote control to go to
(Settings) Timers Timer Power On 2 Hours Auto
Power Off Off.
