Wimpy P/Pl 32 Ceiling/Wall Lamp
Toso, Massari & Associates With G. Toso, 2013
With its delicate prole, hand-blown Italian glass diffuser, and a bold yet cute personality: Wimpy Ceiling/Wall
Lamp is anything but wimpy! Designed by Toso, Massari & Associates (with G. Toso) in 2013, its name alludes
to its hamburger prole and the famous cartoon Popeye’s friend, J. Wellington Wimpy, who was very fond of
hamburgers. Wimpy is made with a traditional Murano hand-blown glass technique called incamiciato (Italian for “jacketed” or “layered”), which requires multiple layers of glass during the blowing process. This tedious
handmade technique pays off brilliantly as Wimpy gives off perfectly diffused light from its simple and graceful
satin white hand-blown diffuser.
