QUICK INSTRUCTIONS
MODEL DVD-2005
1. CONNECT TO YOUR TV SET
Connect the Audio/Video cables from the back of the
DVD player to the back (or front) of your TV.
NOTE:There are three VIDEO output setting modes:
1. Normal Video. 2. S-Video. 3. Component Video. SVideo and Component Video cables are optional (cables
not included), S-Video can provide sharper TV images
than normal video. Component Video can provide the
best TV images. In order to get the best result, please
select only one VIDEO output connection and setting.
NOTE: All three Video connection possibilities are
shown, you only need one of them.
NOTE: If you have a Digital Theater receiver, you also
can connect it by the coaxial cable (not included). This
connection will allow you to use the Dolby Digital
decoder function.

2. Battery Installation 3. To Load and Play a Disc
Remove the BATTERY COMPARTMENT DOOR of the REMOTE
control and insert 2 size “AAA” alkaline batteries according to
the + and - markings inside the BATTERY COMPARTMENT of
the REMOTE control.

BATTERY DOOR.
1 Turn on the TV and DVD player
(press ON/STANDBY button on the
player or on the remote control).
2 Locate the video channel on
your TV which shows the DVD
logo (usually press the VIDEO
button on your TV’s REMOTE).
3 Press the OPEN/CLOSE button

Remember, the
spring touches the
negative side of
each battery.
on the remote control or the
EJECT button on the set to open
the disc door and place a disc
gently inside it with the disc’s
label facing up ( double-sided
discs have content on both sides,
so you can place either side up).
Remote Control Operation Range
Point the REMOTE CONTROL UNIT from less than about 6m
from the remote control sensor and within about 600 of the front
of the player. Remember to aim your REMOTE at the DVD
player, not your TV set!
4 Press the OPEN/CLOSE button
again to close the disc door. The
DVD player reads the disc’s table
of contents and starts playing,
press OK again if only the menu
shows.

Skipping through a Chapter or a track
During play, press and hold the FORWARD
button or BACKWARD button on the
REMOTE control to search at a faster speed
X2, X4, X8, or X20, press the OK button to
resume normal play.
Skipping tracks
During DVD play, press the next skip button
on the REMOTE CONTROL, it moves to
next chapter or scene; press the previous skip
button on the REMOTE CONTROL, it
moves to the beginning of the previous chapter.
Pause or normal play
During play, press the OK button, play will be
paused. To resume normal play, press the OK
button again. This button is also used for normal play.
Repeat play
Each time you press the REPEAT button, the
repeat mode changes as follows:
FOR DVD
REPEAT A - REPEAT A-B A-B CANCEL
REP: [CHAPTER] REP: [TITLE]
REP: [REP ALL] REP: [OFF]
FOR CD and VCD
REPEAT A - REPEAT A-B A-B CANCEL
REP: [REP 1] REP: [REP ALL]
REP: [OFF]
FOR MP3
REP: [REP 1] REP: [REP DIR]
REP: [ALL] REP: [OFF]
Search for preferred play
To select a scene using title number when playing DVD disc.
1 Press SEARCH button during play.
2 Move the DIRECTION buttons and press the
numeric buttons to select the title, or the
track, or the time, then press the OK button
to confirm.
3 The player will jump to play the section you
selected and the menu display disappears
from the screen.
Zoom play
This DVD video player allows you to zoom into a picture as
well as shift the zoom point.
1 During play, press the ZOOM button. Every
time you press this button, the picture will
zoom 2 times, 3 times, 4 times or 1/2.
2 Press the DIRECTION buttons ( , , & )
to move the enlarged picture a little to right
or left, up or down.
3 To return to normal play, press ZOOM till
DIRECTION buttons
the screen shows “ZOOM: OFF”.
Slow play
A disc can also be played back in slow-motion.
1 During play, press the SLOW button, the play
back speed will become 1/2, 1/4, or 1/6 of
normal speed every time you press the SLOW
button.
2 Press OK button to resume normal play.
Changing subtitle language
You can select a desired subtitle language quickly and easily
with the SUBTITLE button.
NOTE:This operation works only with DVD discs on which
multiple subtitle languages are recorded.
NOTE:If no subtitles are recorded, pressing this button will not work.
To remove subtitles, press SUBTITLE button again until
“ :[OFF] ” shows.
Selecting AUDIO mode
You can adjust different AUDIO modes by using the AUDIO
button on the remote.
NOTE:This DVD player doesn’t support DTS. For a DTS
disc, please select other output mode, such as AC-3;
otherwise, there will be no sound output.
Progressive Scan
If your TV has the Component Video Input jacks, you can connect
a component Video cable from the set to your TV and set the
Video output to P-SCAN. (See details on Page 23 of the
instruction manual).
If no sound when using progressive scan, try using other Audio
input jacks near the Component Video input jacks.
Programmed play
You can make a program of up to 16 tracks in the order you
want them to be played. For details, please refer to the
Instruction Booklet on page 29.
