Instructions for Enabling EuP Mode in Setup Utility
This flyer provides instructions on how to enable EuP (Energy using Products) mode in the Setup Utility
program for ThinkStation™computer machine types 4105, 4155, 4157, 4158, 4217, and 4218. Enabling EuP
mode helps to reduce the consumption of electricity when your computer is in hibernation mode or
turned off.
Note: When EuP mode is enabled, you cannot perform the following tasks:
v Waking the computer from the onboard LAN (local area network) card when your computer is
turned off.
v Waking the computer from any installed PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) card or PCI
Express card, for example the modem card or LAN card, when your computer is turned off.
To enable EuP mode in the Setup Utility program, do the following:
1. Make sure your computer is turned off.
2. Repeatedly press and release the F1 key when turning on the computer. When you hear multiple
beeps or see a logo screen, release the F1 key. The Setup Utility program starts.
Note: If a Power-On Password or an Administrator Password has been set, the Setup Utility program
main menu will not be displayed until you type the correct password.
3. From the Setup Utility program main menu, select Power.
4. Select EuP lot 6 and press Enter.
5. Select Enabled and press Enter.
6. Press F10 to save and exit the Setup Utility program. Press Enter when prompted to confirm the exit.
