Featuresandtechnologies

Dual-coreorquad-coreprocessing TheserversupportsoneIntel®Xeon®orCeleron®dual-coreorquad-coremicroprocessor.

Avirtualmediakeyisrequiredtoenabletheremotepresenceandblue-screencapturefeatures.The remotepresencefeatureprovidesthefollowingfunctions:

RAIDsupport TheRAIDcontrollerprovideshardwareredundantarrayofindependentdisks(RAID)support.The standardRAIDcontrollerprovidesRAIDlevels0,1,and1E.OptionalRAIDPCIcardsareavailablefor purchasethatprovideadditionalRAIDlevels.

System-eventlog:ThislogcontainsmessagesthatweregeneratedduringPOSTandallsystemstatus messagesfromtheserviceprocessor.Youcanviewthecontentsofthesystem-eventlogfromthe Setuputilityformoreinformation.Thesystem-eventlogislimitedinsize.Whenitisfull,newentrieswill notoverwriteexistingentries;therefore,youmustperiodicallyclearthesystem-eventlogthroughthe Setuputility.Whenyouaretroubleshooting,youmighthavetoclearthesystem-eventlogtomakethe mostrecenteventsavailableforanalysis.
Eachsystem-eventlogentryisdisplayedonitsownpage.Messagearelistedontheleftsideofthe screen,anddetailsabouttheselectedmessageisdisplayedontherightsideofthescreen.Tomovefrom oneentrytothenext,usetheUpArrow(-)andDownArrow(¯)keys.
Thesystem-eventlogindicatesanassertioneventwhenaneventhasoccurred.Itindicatesade-assertion eventwhentheeventisnolongeroccurring.
Integratedmanagementmodule(IMM)eventlog:ThislogcontainsalteredsubsetofallIMM,POST, andsystemmanagementinterrupt(SMI)events.YoucanviewtheIMMeventlogthroughtheIMMWeb interfaceandthroughtheDynamicSystemAnalysis(DSA)program(astheASMeventlog).
DSAlog:ThislogisgeneratedbytheDynamicSystemAnalysis(DSA)program,anditisachronologically orderedmergeofthesystem-eventlog(astheIPMIeventlog),theIMMchassis-eventlog(astheASM eventlog),andtheoperating-systemeventlogs.YoucanviewtheDSAlogthroughtheDSAprogram.

ViewingeventlogsthroughtheSetuputility

ToviewthePOSTeventlogorsystem-eventlog,completethefollowingsteps:
